I'm very shocked that the Conference USA didn't reach out to the University of Massachusetts considering they are so close to the University of Rhode Island
My alma mater (Liberty) made a mistake signing a 10-game home and home series with UMass. We whoop them every year and it's gotten very stale playing them.
I was there on Saturday, it was a 1 point victory in OT after the kicker missed an extra point and a 30 yard field goal at the end of regulation which would have won it. Wouldn’t say that’s a “whoop”
As a UMass fan it's been a frustrating run, but I think joining the MAC will give bring stability to the program. Hopefully a facility improvement project will come soon.
I am from Massachusetts and it is laughable how bad UMass is. You would think they would be able to call the top talent from a densely populated state, but no.
The thing with umass is that they do get good couple players every year ( underrated guys ) but just not enough… can’t have solid receivers but with below average lineman and qbs. Just my opinion
UMass is a good school and has success in hockey and probably a couple of other sports. Should be a good addition overall to the MAC but yeah I feel you on WKU for example.
UConn and UMass won't do that because there are more concerned about how much money they're going to get from getting absolutely crushed by better teams then actually nurturing their own programs.
Idaho has just started to see FCS success. The transition was nothing close to smooth. They were kicked from the Sun belt along with NMSU who stayed FBS and battled at the bottom for years but they are now a top program in the CUSA so it’s an interesting comparison
@@scottyclayton2501 But let's be real, Idaho belongs in the Big Sky Conference because that's where most of their rivals are and that was the best thing that could have happened to them with the situation that they had at the time.
UMASS is going to be my rebuild team for College football 25. This team has been poorly run and whoever but Preston Garvey himself to lead the minutemen to the promise land.
It's honestly a reality that both Uconn and UMass need to go back to FCS to rebuild their programs there. But, UConn and UMass won't do that because there are more concerned about how much money they're going to get from getting absolutely crushed by better teams then actually nurturing their own programs. The athletic administrators and the fan base is too apathetic to see the reality of the situation. And I'm really shaking my head that the MAC really accepted these guys instead of Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee. If the MAC was really going to bring in UMass they would have at least told them to bring UConn as well. I don't know if there's any way you can fix the program.
UMass. You have it wrong about the move to the MAC. Most sports fans favor the move! Only primary basketball fans are not happy. The only positive is moving to the MAC as the only positive is very wrong as well! UMass has been recruiting on pair with G5 teams and very well in the transfer portal. UMass has a good Midnight Ride Collective and a good coaching staff, along with finally adequately funding football. Will be shedding paying multiple Power teams, which really hurt the players and can't thing of a G5 team that is successful averaging playing nearly 3 Power Conference games a season. We lost our #1 QB in the 2nd game against Auburn, after beating the 2nd best team in CUSA, plus Army on the road.
Living in Boston, nobody cares about UMass football. I graduated back in 2021 and now that I moved to the city its all about Boston College for football and looking forward to hockey season.
@@Rob-uc1xhI’d say people don’t really care about Boston college either. Football just isn’t big money up here. BC is definitely the top team but most seasons the stadium is empty.
@@washedupwarvet2027 exactly well put my comment is a little poorly worded. Folks dont really care about college sports that much up in NE but if they do it is more BC then UMass
Massachusetts doesn’t have a recruiting base. How many D1 players come out of New England? Maybe 10 or so. Teams in CA, TX and Florida have that many on one hs team. Therefore they get lots of players outside the area and they are going to Umass because that’s their only offer. I’m watching the Umass v Toledo game and they are hard to watch. Lots of shit talking while loosing and not loads of talent. Poor execution. Should of stayed 1AA
Maybe it’s the school fault they need to invest money into their facilities if they want to be competitive football school.
The athletic administrators and the fan base is too apathetic to see the reality of the situation.
They’re investing in hockey, football gets scraps
Umass doesn't care about there football team there stadium is a glorified high school field any effort to be good at sports goes to hockey
I'm very shocked that the Conference USA didn't reach out to the University of Massachusetts considering they are so close to the University of Rhode Island
URI is in A10
Do you know something we don't? Doesn't look like URI isn't going anywhere (A10 in other sports, CAA for football)
They did, and many thought that is where they were going until the MAC came in late.
Conference USA what that have to do with uri

I couldn’t imagine going to liberty u must be a miserable human
all games have been dropped after this year! we are free!

When ncaa 25 comes out I am thinking about making a New England wing of the MAC with team builder to make New Hampshire, Vermont and maybe UConn
Same! UNH is gonna be my rebuild 😂
lmaoo just did this, moved boston college there aswell and added umaine

They can join American athletic conference
24-112?! Ouch!!!
Neal Brown, the failed WVU coach is on his way to make umass football great again. You just have to trust the climb!
What fall? They were good at one point?
Did you watch the video?

I'm disappointed in the MAC for inviting UMass. Still having hope we can get a good program like Western Kentucky
UMass is a good school and has success in hockey and probably a couple of other sports. Should be a good addition overall to the MAC but yeah I feel you on WKU for example.
Idaho in the long run has been better off dropping back to the FCS level. One can only hope UMass does the same
And UConn Football for that matter as well
UConn and UMass won't do that because there are more concerned about how much money they're going to get from getting absolutely crushed by better teams then actually nurturing their own programs.

They need a big name hire for the low.
Don Brown there current head coach is a big name in football. He’s got them on the come up.

same here 🫡

UConn no UMass yes
UConn could stay fbs. They've been more competitive recently, and they got a good coach in jim mora
The kid that gets beat up in the schoolyard every day eventually becomes good at fighting. Furthermore, fear the team that has nothing to lose.
Do a video on how Florida A&M tried to move their football team to the FBS. It was something lol
Why anyone would want UMASS is beyond me
Playing time, they take ‘rough around the edges’ kids, they have an NIL collective, and they appear to have fun over there with the losing

I am sure they wanted to move up to 1A after their success but it was probably financially impossible.
Fall? I never knew they had a rise
I'm currently doing a UMass dynasty in NCAA 13 right now.
NCAA 13 💀
I mean, in order to fall, it means you once had to be good...
MA is the richest state in the US. School has no excuse for not investing in football. Just look at uconn and the huge turnaround in that program

Ya they can’t compete with bc at all in recruiting should have stayed in fcs
A top ranked national high school team could probably beat umass 😂
falling implies they were up lol

The Buffalo game has reinforced your views.
any good recruits coming from New England go to either Penn State or BC so UMass just gets the recruits that have no other FBS offers
Way more than 10 lol. some ISL schools have 10 kids going d1 from that team. Wow….
When were they ever good what's the fall?😂
