    For motor rotation you should be able to unpin any two wires in the connector on the motor side and switch them.

    I'm SURE brushless will become the 'NORM' in the coming years. When I was flying RC helicopters, brushless motors and lipo's changed model flying forever, they were a total game changer and fully displaced glow engine power. RC cars are now also dominated by brushless!

      Not so sure about that. I remember brushless/lipo just coming out for RC cars, early ones were sensorless and 'coggy' but the writing was instantly on the wall for brushed motors...that must have been over 15 years ago (I left RC racing in 2015 after 35 years racing mainly 1/12th).
      RC cars have always had a speed control, mostly ESC's and brushless ESC's were cheap as chips in comparison to Novak/LRP/etc of the time.
      The big downside for Slot cars is the additional cost of the Ecom required for each car to convert 2 phase to 3 phase (ish).
      Another current downside are the lack of slow brushless motors, we don't all want 40k motors.
      I think for ISRA the writing is on the wall for brushed motors as that's open class racing, forever searching for more power and speed and NSR proved they're now more than competitive and probably much cheaper over a seasons racing than strap motors.

    I really like this idea to have a motor sized adapter, rather than designing a completely new pod for brushless motors. It really makes this new technology accessible to a much larger crowd.

    This kit is great, can't wait to get it in Europe! It's a game changer!!!!!!

    If you want to reverse a brushless motor, you reverse any two of the three leads, so you'd have to get them out of the plug and put them back in the other way around, no soldering required on the ESC. It's quite an operation with such a small jst connector but definitely doable.

    Thank you for sharing. I do not understand the use of the green "frame". Avoiding bending due to the torque? The black connecting plate is not strong enougth?

      Yes, it's for tying the motor into the motor pod to prevent movement. The black motor plate is strong enough, but can't prevent the motor/motor pod assembly from flexing under acceleration. Maybe if the motor pod was aluminum it would be OK.

    I'd like to see a MR Slot Car pod with the motor (Centered) as a sidewinder! Theres a 1/24 Flex Chassis for Brushless that's centered but I would like to see a MR 1/24 Chassis for that too!

    Seems a poorly FDM printed adapter with delamination, does the green can offer any real benefit to the structure I wonder vs just a motor plate adapter, I also hope the black plastic is heat resistant (ABS? PETG?) a brushless motor can get hot and melt the plastic lol.
    But why an outrunner? I'm not familiar with slot cars, but if it's just higher RPMs, an inrunner may have been a better choice maybe? Crawlers and battle bots uses outrunners for the lower KVs and torque, ahhh maybe the inrunner are too high of a KV if powered at 12V

      I'm the designer of the adapter can and we've tested it with a fully specced 24hr endurance slot car and let a kid slam it into a wall with full voltage many times with zero damage to the can. In testing we haven't had any failures from the adapter and the motor has had no failures that weren't related to user install error. (The small windings can be easily shorted with the wrong length screw!). As for outrunner vs inrunner in testing the inrunners performed worse handling and power wise. Unfortunately I don't have the technical explanation as to why but the outrunner performs significantly more consistently according to the top drivers in the area that were in the test group.

      @COE-Ender 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The outrunner also stays noticeably cooler than any brushed motor in testing and do to it being an outrunner, it has plenty of effective cooling. The particular plastic being used is very durable and heat resistant with no warping or delamination found. You may find some left over support interface on the end cap piece but that can be removed with a nail or flat head driver.

      As for speed of the motor in slot cars gearing and speed have massive impact to the handling and drivability of which going to far can cause the car to be inconsistent and uncontrollable especially when you are trying not to fly off the track costing you very critical lap time!

      @@COE-Ender most likely due to higher pole counts there will be more commutations per rotation.
