    not a massive basketball fan and particularly college either but just listening to Cal speak and having watched some of the other videos...this guy just keeps it real. Doesn't BS the players and will pretty much do all he can to help them succeed. In my mind thats a damn good leader and is applicable to ANY industry.

      He has very good work ethics and much basketball wisdom would like to see him turn the program around again

    People forget how good of a coach Cal was when he first came to KY, he was still in his prime an had that hunger an energy. I think a problem he has now is he is kinda burnt out on it an has to make an effort to get back into it. He still has it, an this year an next year he has a chance to prove it.

    I've been watching UK my whole life.
    Outside of Anthony Davis, Cal usually recruits guys who can't shoot the 3 or hit a free throw or play basketball very well in general.
    At this point they say, "We're getting a 5 star recruit!" I just roll my eyes & say, "What's gonna be this player's malfunction?"

    Results???. We want team play. One player can't win it all. The salary amount should bring in a championship

    its true too... Derek Willis, he got a public intoxication, at the legal drinking age. and it was all over espn... he is a bench player.

    Regarding Cal's "clean recruiting" .... If it's too good to be true, it's probably not true.

      I used to think that but his model at Kentucky is pretty damm attractive just being Kentucky, where he can go right to the best players in the country and say, if you come to Kentucky, you will prob start, we will be in the top 5, you will be on national TV every week, have a chance to be an NCAA champion AND I'm not going to expect you to stay beyond this year if you are good enough and want to play in the NBA.

    Well so far the results are not there I’ve lost a lot of faith in cal since that 2015 final four with Wisconsin we should have at least 3 champions by now he gets out coached a lot in tight games yes he’s a great recruiter but that dosent count for anything if you can’t compete nationally

  • @andu1854
    @andu1854 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    One title (thanks to Davis), numerous games he has been out coached, he is a crappy in game coach and his teams underachieve, but I am sure Kentucky loves it that he is not going anywhere

      one title, numerous games out-coached, crappy in-game coach who's teams underachieve and still getting the best players.

    Give Scubby Doo his recruiting talent = 5 NC.. Great recruiter, mediocre coach. No coach ever did more with less talent than Jim Calhoun.

      Idk, Calipari resurrected the UMass basketball in the 90s. Besides Camby, he didn’t have 1/100th the talent he does now and he got us to a final four and turned the program into a nationally recognized powerhouse. Since then, we’ve made the tournament once...and got killed in the first round.

    I think Calipari promised the twins playing time in every game for many minutes. There were too many times when they should have been on the bench.

      BJ aint showed up. He dont have that dog in em. Some players just have it and others have to work to get there.

    "I believe they only had one McDonald's All American before you." Umm, wow...What an ignorant question. Kentucky is the winningest program in college basketball history. I think there might've been more than one McDonald's all American before Calipari

    • @Antygrvity69
      @Antygrvity69 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      adamnbryant: That's not what they said, the interviewer clearly stated "in the 4 years prior to Coach Cal coming to UK, there was maybe 1 McDonald's All-American". Not the entire existence prior to coach Cal coming to UK,.. Even if you didn't know college basketball, everyone knows Jamal Mashburn, Kenny "Sky" Walker, Rex Chapman, & Sam Bowie. The list goes on, but that's 4 McDonald's All-American's right there.
