Personally, I want a documentary on UK fans running Cal off in order to get back the program he basically stole from them and turned into an NBA prep factory with little to no concern about decades-old college basketball traditions or postseason success, as long as the draft turned out okay. It would be a good vehicle to seriously examine the basic purpose of college basketball and exactly who programs "belong" to.

As a blue blooded Big Blue Nation fan I love coach Cal. Cal gave us UK fans some of the best teams that will go down in history and I hope he gives you Razorbacks the same. Most us cat fans love Arkansas as you guys are absolutley crazy about your hoops as we are, well maybe not quite as crazy, but you guys are F'ing crazy and we Cat fans love the passion you guys pour into your hoops. UK and Arkansas are no doubt the 2 most dedicated crazy hoops programs in the SEC without question. I look forward to what I think is the begining of a crazy over the top rivavrly between us. Let us both dominate the SEC and both win final fours, championships and represent the SEC in March. Go Big Blue and Go Hogs!!!!
It’s amazing what a win-win this is for Kentucky and Arkansas. Enjoy the hype Arkansas, but be ready for the Cal criticism. He brings the best in, but will infuriate you with his in game coaching abilities and stubbornness to play his starters. I think he will make it past the first weekend for you all because he no longer has the pressure of winning like he had at UK. I wish you all the best and am so grateful Kentucky has a guy that seems way more into Xs/Os. We love Cal but are tired of being out coached and never having an inbounds play.

Inevitable postseason run? Have you not watched the last 5 years? Dude has done less with more than any other coach. The game has changed and he has refused to change with it. Won’t play a zone when needed, won’t run an out of bounds play, horrible end game strategies. Heck - he had 2 lottery picks on his most recent team and didn’t even start them.

He turned the top basketball program in America into an NBA farm team. He hasn't seen a win in March in five years. He burned bridges with our boosters and our AD. We're glad he's gone.

I’ve been a Kentucky fan, since the age of 6, when I watched my first game, I love coach cal, and want to thank him for all the great memories and talent he has blessed us with, I wish him the best at Arkansas and will continue to watch him, although I still bleed blue…good luck coach cal

@garyjrsonny To hell with that. No we shouldn't throw stuff but booing him given the blatant coaching malpractice last season deserves boos. Fact is, he didn't save kentucky anything. He broke his contract the moment he met with tyson without informing Kentucky. He wasn't going to be the HC at kentucky either way at that point.
Cal said the exact same things at his introductory press conference at Arkansas that he did at UK 15 years ago. It sounded almost scripted.
He’s recently been quoted by recruited players as saying “Cal University is the same, it just changed locations”. Maybe it’s just me but as an AD or a fan, it would piss me off if my new basketball coach was ALREADY acting as if he’s bigger than the university and the players are coming for him not the school.
I wish the Hogs luck except when they play UK, but… same staff, same players, same recruitment process, same coaching style is probably going to equal the same results in March.

Growing up in Oklahoma football is king and our basketball teams can be pretty good some yrs but when i was a kid i always kept up with Arkansas basketball because im from Tulsa and of course Nolan Richardson coached TU before he moved to the Razorbacks so i kept up them loved Scotty Thurman as a kid his game was sick and Corliss Williamson was the guy though he was going to be a decent pro but after Richardson Razorbacks fell off for yrs till they got that last coach who brought them back to the elite 8 finally but hearing Coach Cal decided to go to Arkansas is good news for the Razorbacks definitely see them becoming a national power again
Cal is 65 and 10 years past his prime. He rode the coattails of one and done guys the entire time at UK. All of those guys would have been one and done if they went to Toledo. It was a gimmick that ran its course.

"Shocked the NCAA". Buddy, it was time for him to move on, he got cold feet and wanted to stay at U.K, but he was void of his contract and U.K told him to get lost..... He is the last of a dying breed, but it will be about Cal 24/7, but Arkansas needed this.
I spoke with multiple Kentucky media members for the project (only 1 of which agreed to be on camera) and none of them said there was any evidence or proof to suggest that’s what actually took place. They all agreed that once the talks started with Arkansas, there was no regression on Calipari’s side.

Well they were in the know before too, listened to Kevin on the radio and he was reporting stuff before it even came out. Courtney was saying stuff on Pig Trail too and I’m pretty sure Biddy was in his videos online. They all knew something just couldn’t report it because they didn’t have enough sources at the time.
The title of this is extremely misleading, though the video is good.
Cal is the greatest recruiter in cbb history. Unfortunately he is not a great X/O’s coach. Take this season, Cal had two top 10 shooters going top 10 in the nba draft & still lost to Oakland. The talent on KY’s team was incredible this year.

I think it is quite ironic that many Ark fans talk about what a primo job being the head BB coach is and how they are a top tier program. But it wasn't until NIL opening up men's basketball to become a professional sport. If you need an alumnus and big money to back bringing in a head coach, then you are not a top tier university bb team. I'd like to see Cal succeed, but succeeding at Ark means 20 plus wins a season, where succeeding at KY means elite 8, final 4 and national championships. But the fun part is that we all get to sit back and see if his player's first system will continue to work, now that he has 7 to 10 million dollars committed by the Univ and alums for NIL. Whatever happened to the good old days when the only time a player got busted was when a FEDEX package containing $100,000 in cash was 'accidentally' opened up as it was being sent by a University booster (KY I believe) to a recruit.
That’s a complicated, old school story. It was $1000 and it was a coach, not a booster. That being said- Dwayne Casey successfully sued to clear his name. Who knows what happened, Eddie was in the bottle so it’s certainly possible corners were being cut. I just have a hard time believing that kind of risk was taken over $1000.

Whoever did this has no idea, Arkansas didn’t steal Calipari, he left because he knew the fans had grown tired of his all freshmen,every year, yet not going anywhere with them come tournament time because of their inexperience and facing older,tougher players and teams !
Kentucky fans know the game,that was one of the big reasons Calipari came to,and loved Kentucky to begin with ! Yet when the fans knew he needed to add more than just 1,or 2 older guys with the freshmen, he got mad,started calling Kentucky fans ‘basketball Bernie’s’, just wanted them to sit in the stands,and shut up,and leave the coaching to him ! ! Lol, you don’t do that to Kentucky basketball fans !
The fans were furious after his continued refusal to add more older players (yet after he goes to Arkansas,he says he has to start adding a lot more older players,so many freshmen against older teams is to hard) lol, well Duh Cal, the Kentucky fans had told you that for years !
And CALIPARI’s attitude had changed over the last several years,the pressure got to him,he began to push coaches away,longtime friend and coach who had been with him for over 20years,since UMass ,John Robic left the team, some players left and transferred, other individuals on the coaching staff left, Cal’s attitude had gotten so bad,he only let a few people stay close,shut most of the media out !
And then, even when he left to go toArkansas,still more coaches left,longtime friend and coach Orlando Antiqua left and went back to Illinois instead of going with him, and another assistant Welch left and took a job elsewhere ! Peevey left Kentucky, his relationship with Mitch Barnhardt deteriorated. Calipari did want a new practice facility for the basketball team, and would have gotten one, but he had pushed away all the boosters as well because of his attitude !
Calipari didn’t want to wait,he wants it NOW,he just began thinking he ,HE WAS TO BIG,deserved whatever he wanted,WHENEVER he wanted ! He had pushed away everyone who supported him from the beginning, and then he began looking for a way out after a 2nd early exitin 3 years in the NCAA Tournamentin the first round, he finally realized how furious people were with him, all because of his attitude , and refusal to change…until he left for Arkansas ! If he had done the same things a few years earlier at Kentucky,their wouldn’t have been early exits in the NCAA Tournament,and even the SEC Tournament.
Kentucky fans still ,still love Calipari,and was still was hoping he could right the ship,but the relationship was toxic, Calipari knewit was time to leave. He took less money coaching at Arkansas, they offered him NIL money , but Kentucky had the money in NIL also..
Until he pushed the boosters away because of his attitude.
Then Calipari snuck and started trying to find other jobs because he knew things had become toxic,he looked at Ohio State, was interested in UCLA, and a couple more schools, so Arkansas didn’t steal him away,Kentucky was fed up, and Calipari broke the conditions of his contract as well by seeking a job elsewhere and talking to another university,without notifying Kentucky.
Calipari had 2nd thoughts,at 1 point didn’t even want to leave Kentucky, but behind closed doors,Mitch Barnhardt wouldn’t let him return,because Kentucky now had anout,and wouldn’t have to pay the huge money of his contract now,because Calipari broke the terms,and Kentucky had the ‘out’ they wanted !
Arkansas stole Calipari ?! Lol…No,Kentucky said goodbye,you can’t come back !
