For anyone wanting to know who these clowns are, the percussion is Louis Cole and the saxophone is Sam Gendel. There's a live performance where Gendel has the same mismatched headjoint and sax. Louis Cole is just... Louis. His eyes are definitely what tipped it off for me.

A lot of musicians do this all the time - pianists playing chords with the left hand while running solo's on the right. That left-right independence (no political pun intended whatsoever) is essential to most. The same principle applies to playing 2 different instruments at the same time too: guitarists that sing, for instance.
You are all swept in the visuals, then you see the drummer carrying the snare in one hand and the bass in another. These guys are seriously next level it's terrifying.
Someone in there is a mic placing & recording technical genius. A portapotty, now a vehicle... and that's besides the fact that under the masks these guys are very skilled musicians. Love it

It's a such a weird combination of feelings, it always makes me have this weird huehuehuehue kind of laugh crescendoing out of me. The absurdity of it gives me a sense of freedom. Like, this is something I've never heard before or imagined before. The organized chaos of it tickles me just the right way. This is absolutely fucking awesome.
Oh my god the huehuehue 😭 I absolutely understand that feeling. An unconventional song like this renders your brain’s urge to predict music useless, and forces you to be held captive by whatever these guys are about to do. And the way you get flung about by the unpredictable structure like you’re on a roller coaster, you can’t help but hyperventilate and giggle uncontrollably

For anyone wanting to know who these clowns are, the percussion is Louis Cole and the saxophone is Sam Gendel. There's a live performance where Gendel has the same mismatched headjoint and sax. Louis Cole is just... Louis. His eyes are definitely what tipped it off for me.

A lot of musicians do this all the time - pianists playing chords with the left hand while running solo's on the right. That left-right independence (no political pun intended whatsoever) is essential to most. The same principle applies to playing 2 different instruments at the same time too: guitarists that sing, for instance.

I think any musician worth their weight in salt will recognize this is top tier on the level of Zappa or any avant-garde greatness.
Just by looking at the sticks the drummer uses you know they're the real deal.
Behind all the avant garde weirdness (which I love) these guys are extremely talented.
