      Rock Hound, it's been a rough 18 months or so since losing Capone and then Huck. This trip really did help me get back to myself. Thank you for your kind words. I hope you;'re well. hugs, C

      Carolyn's RV Life Carolyn, my heart is still aching over the loss of the dogs in my life so I 100% understand how you’re feeling about Huck and Capone. If you’ve had a lot of pain bc people have hurt you the love of an animal can be such be such a comfort. If you have haters, block them. They don’t deserve to be in your life and you certainly don’t deserve them. Bye bye Felicia 👋

    7:00 gorgeous bright cheerful colors - look like pepper plants I used to grow. I didn't know NZ had fir trees, sequoia, redwoods! That was a lot of fun!

    Carolyn, what a wonder filled day at the gardens... and those sequoias! I’m so glad that you noticed the quantity of low branches. I had just read last week John Muir’s 1901 essay on gigantic Sequoias and during the reading I was struck too about the low branches because I have never seen a young Sequoia! Silly me, i thought they were all ancient! And the trees you saw in New Zealand are less than 200 years old. These younger trees show a couple of differences to the more mature trees: firstly they have an arrow top whereas the mature trees have a rounded leaf top or head. Second they have a multitude of lower branches that the tree naturally and gradually drops as it gets older. So… You have given me a vision and a goal to go see those young Sequoia‘s. Kings Canyon national Park is a sacred place for me, especially the Sequoia Groves to wander in. I would love to see a young Sequoia tree. I know your natural love and curiosity blessed those trees you were under as much as those trees blessed you and by your sharing blessed me. Thank you

      @@rouxchat6033 You're welcome! It didn't really hit me until I saw Carolyn's walk through the NZ botanical garden because, like you, all I'd ever seen were ancient sequoias.

    Carolyn, during my childhood in the suburbs we played croquet; we played occasionally during visits to our grandparents' house. Maybe a Midwestern thing, I don't know.... we were also introduced to badminton (who plays that?!?) so we were exposed to weird sports as kids...

    • @carolinenunez3455
      @carolinenunez3455 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dolores Reynolds Not just the Midwest; I grew up playing croquet and badminton in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Of course I’m now ancient, lol.

      Weird sport? Badminton?! Like most sports, it was "invented" in Britain (incl. baseball). and it´s now played all over the world. Excepy in the USA, from what you say.

    There are Californian Redwoods growing in a five-acre park at Rotorua, New Zealand, planted in 1901, only a century old and growing like rockets. A forest that has grown over 200 feet in 80 years!

    Those trees were so beautiful! I wonder if maybe they are a different verity of sequoia tree or grow different because of the environment. Either way they sure are pretty.

    Those Rose's and begonias were incredible. I found myself trying to inhale harder to smell them, but no, all I smell is creosote bushes. 😁 I used to raise Rose's in my sticks and bricks life. Can't wait for the next installment. Peace, Cynthia ☮

    So, do you believe that being a Christian, believing in Jesus Christ, is cultlike?

    • @CarolynsRVLife
      @CarolynsRVLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm not sure I understand what being a Christian has to do with chanting "Lock her Up" at a political rally????
      (about a woman who was never charged with a crime , despite decades of investigations)

    • @alyssasoto5489
      @alyssasoto5489 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CarolynsRVLife I thought you said that the children's Christian play was cultlike, not a political rally.. I have followed you for a very long time (like 4-5yrs). I have prayed for you, liked your videos, supported you. There is no need to attack me when I ask you a question about a statement you made. That part of the play was actually about a prostitute that the Pharisees were yelling to stone her to death, and asked Jesus what He would do. He replied with if whichever of you have never sinned, throw the first stone. They all walked away. You have many Christian watchers. Whether you agree or not, it sounded very offending. I did not realize it was a political rally of any kind. That is not what I thought I heard you say. I have commented on many of your videos in support. This is the 1st time you have ever responded to. If I misunderstood and it wasn't a Christian play, I apologize.

    • @alyssasoto5489
      @alyssasoto5489 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Richard Thomas Did you NOT read my response of apologizing if I misunderstood?!?!?? Ya know, people love to run their mouth online and butt their nose in other people's business bc they have nothing better to do in their own lives.

    • @alyssasoto5489
      @alyssasoto5489 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Richard Thomas I am the one acting high and mighty when YOU are butting into someone else's conversation, bullying someone bc they don't agree, then continues to argue nonsense trying to prove THEIR OWN SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS? LOL

    • @CarolynsRVLife
      @CarolynsRVLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alyssa, oh no.. no, that's not at all what I said. Did you even listen to my words? The children's play wasn't Christian. I didn't say anything about Christianity.
      You think my question asking for clarification was an attack on you??? oh my.. I think you might have some issues to pray about.

    Lots and lots of Trump rallies and tightly packed Conservative Christian Church meanings. That's what this country needs to get all better.

      Idk. I was in a contemplative mood after spending 3 weeks in another country. This channel is about.my life experiences and observations. In case you missed it, it's a always a good idea to read a channel's "about" section. That way you know what you're signing up for when you watch. It's not weird at all if you've been paying attention

  • @kele1264
    @kele1264 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yeah, I think the "lock her up" was not a good chant to teach children. It was born in hate and ignorance, and should be kept out of innocent children's fun activities. I'd hate for them to grow up thinking, when they hear it later, that's it's somehow a good thing.
