I'm so glad you love our beautiful city. I am so happy I found you because you've shown me my country like I've never seen it. We are blessed. Thank you both.
I really appreciate the great job you have both done to reveal many beautiful places of our wonderful country ' I'm glad you enjoyed NZ ' Thanks and safe travels - Many blessings ... I look forward to following your future adventures -
Thank you for giving recognition to Christchurch! ❤ Ever since the earthquakes, half a million people left the city and soooo many businesses closed down (hence all the empty lots in the city, some turned into parking). But we are recovering and growing again, and videos like this makes me so happy! There are so many places to visit! You guys should come back during Summer and visit the beach/bay sides and mountains! Hope you guys enjoyed your visit! 🥰
Check out the Church Bar & Paddy McNaughtons Irish pub. Both built in the 1800s, best Irish pub in the country. Great Stout! The Church is an amazing pub that was originally an old church. Go figure! Pomeroys old English pub is brilliant too, great craft beer selection. Enjoy Christchurch, Sláinte. Slán👍😁
Hey hey thanks for the recommendation buddy 🙂🙌 we actually visited this place in one of our previous Christchurch videos. It was our Christchurch first impression 😉
LOL😄 You two are such a good couple - it's funny when you have little 'disagreements' - Glen has to take big bites Mado - you don't get big biceps eating little bites 😉
Awh sure it’s all part of the fun of a relationship haha and yup you got that correct my friend! You need to tell mado that, it’s all about the gains 😂
I'm glad you came back to Christchurch and had a decent look around, it is a wonderful city and deserves your appreciation. It'll be sad to see you leave our lovely country but you do like to travel and we hope you'll come back again sometime. Keep up the great content and enjoy your time here while you can.
Not to worry: We are also having a Down pour. Rain, Hail and strong winds. Thanks for another awesome video. Always great. Regards from South Africa 🇿🇦.
Naww I feel your sadness! Thank you for all the amazing videos! I hope you are travelling to the Cook Islands and if you are, definitely fly over to Aitutaki. Bless you both 💕
Irishman and a German Lass. My wife is German, even though she thinks she is a Kiwi or how she says it, a Kivi lol Love the channel. I have lived in Germany with my wife and enjoyed the food and especially the great beer. We are both hoping to head to Ireland in the near future. New Sub and enjoy our country
I have moved back to Christchurch from Brisbane and I love being back home. You guys missed an earthquake here we had this morning 15th June it was a 3.4 mag quake just 10km SE of us and hit us with a hard jolt nearly threw me out of bed! Really enjoying your videos enjoyed this one a lot thank you x
Glad you both enjoyed coming back to my hometown. A pity you didn't try the fountain at the rock garden at the Botanic Gardens, it's drawn straight from an underground spring and is both safe, slightly sweet, and deliciously refreshing.
Haha how did we know though 😂 it definitely didn’t look drinkable so that’s the reason we probably didn’t try unfortunately. Damn missed our chance though, would have be nice Stuart!
Hi guys don't no if you remember me I was the guy tooting at you in the car in Dunedin that day anyway we are going to miss you in nz you guys always make us laugh and really enjoy all your videos much love
Hi Glen & Mado. You guy's might be aware already but the guy on the side of the building at 2:45 is one of if not the most famous NZ'er - Sir Edmund Hillary!
Having travelled around NZ and a Kiwi living in CHCH, great to hear visitors views and experiences and you guys have been a great watch. Did you make it to New Brighton and the hot pools ?
Yay! Finally tried Dimitris, and now you know why we all recommend it! There's a few places in this video I haven't been to yet, after the earthquakes they have been rebuilding the city so fast I can't keep up!
It's been 30 years since I've been in CH CH , don't know if they still have orana park ,or Spencer ,willow park , really nice places,if you in to hikes or bike's port hills bridle path, Taylor's mistake ,go around to boulders bay ,good vibe ,and if they still have it the dog house, best burger after a few drinks lol anyways love your videos guys ❤❤😊
Hi from Christchurch. I want to say to anyone who is following your footsteps .. PLEASE be considerate with your rubbish. I walk past a sports park regularly and freedom campers have been parking there and enjoying breakfast in the park. Always interesting people to chat to. But one morning I noticed someone had emptied their van rubbish into a bush 😢. Within a week a No Camping sign was up :(. They had ruined it for everyone else 😢.
Black goose.. lol They're swans. Dimitris make THE best souvlaki in Christchurch. Been going since I was a teen. You're thinking of those dirty kebabs from the UK that's just meat on chips, real cheap and sloppy. Definitely not the same.
As a Christchurch resident, I can confirm the city was MUCH nicer before the earthquakes. Victoria Square was just nice, pretty, and rustic. The shops and buildings had history and character.; I used to work at the aquarium in town, which was housed in the Old Post Office historic building. Now everything's been replaced with stuff that's got a kind of soulless modern look, in my opinion, a similar vibe to a 'nice' modern school - functional, maybe a bit arty, maybe sleek, but totally lacking charm. Another example is the new central library vs the old one. The old one was on two (and a half) floors, was situated under shady trees, and had a muted, calm feeling. The new one is like 6 floors high, jammed into a triangle-shaped site, and gives you a panic attack from the heights if you have acrophobia. It's arty as hell, but again, the charm and vibe is just gone. The quakes were just so tragic for our city. As well as costing a lot of lives, it took away a lot of the city's character. Most people I know don't even go into town any more, and I feel like it's because it doesn't feel like the same place it used to be. Everything kind of moved away from the center, where all the damage was, and now the center is just this weird place that nobody likes, with the old character just showing through the cracks here and there.
hmmm its an interesting question where CHCH was nicer before/after the earthquake.. before it was more colonial, funky and romantic.. after there is more modern urban design and architecture... I prefer the way it was... but if you have to rebuild no point trying to remain in the past.. save what can be saved.. and move forward with the rest
Glen and Mado when will you come back to Pakistan.. I know you have been here twice but as you know Pakistan is massive country and you had missed a lot citites Multan, Hyderabad, Bahawlpur... Hope to see you soon in Pakistan.
if you have time and are keen on a wee walk the Macaulay hut is an awesome spot you drive up the side of lake Tekapo to get there has wood a fire solar power for lights and gas there is a donation box at the hut go in the middle of the week to avoid the weekend worriers . You're black goose is a black swan lol.
So, have you guys been talking about immigrating to NZ - and would ChCh be one of your top places to live? PS - I am not from the Immigration Dept.
Hi, one thing I’ve wondered, have you done much maintenance to your car? You’ve traveled many kilometres since you arrived here.
Yep got it done a few times and fixed up a few things on it and new tires and stuff. Ready for sale now!
Glen and Mado when will you come back to Pakistan..
I know you have been here twice but as you know Pakistan is massive country and you had missed a lot citites Multan, Hyderabad, Bahawlpur...
