I hate this casualization. I loved how Animal Crossing didn't let you have control. What's next, 24/7 open shops? Ability to pick your villagers? Put the river wherever you want? Call holiday events whenever you want? Spawn items? Bugs and fish that don't flee when you fail to catch them? Why????

@@naircat they are adding so much more for you to do. Imagine how much time you are going to spend collecting crafting items. It's only fair to give you more convenience in other areas. Especially since many people have been playing for so many years.
I have been annoyed by having to sell or manually stack fruit every 10 seconds since Wild World. I don't think it's going to affect my gameplay negatively that they added that feature.

The fact that the developers are taking more time to develop the game then rush it out to reach fan demand is really nice considering the state of the industry it shows that the developers care about delivering a good experience

I can't really think of any game that Nintendo has rushed out. Botw and Yoshi's crafted world was delayed and Metroid prime 4 has been too. Wish other game studios did the same
Plant Gang yeah just because a game has been delayed (was fire emblem 3 houses delayed?) doesn't mean it'll be perfect. But with the switch it feels like they're actually caring about what quality their games are
Their last console (Wii U) was also a flop for them, so they probably want to make their games as good as possible so that doesn't happen again! Nintendo also seems to be putting more quality than quantity out rn- which is great!

But a day before we left for vacation my parents picked up the game from Target and I created my Island of Evergreen.

Ahh, me too! Only a year or two off I think. I'm not sure when I got my first animal crossing game, but I think I was 7-9 years old. 21 now, still in love. I'll turn 22 not too long after New Horizons comes out. I'll never be too old for Animal Crossing.

Look at the water! The textures and lighting are gorgeous, but it still keeps the Animal Crossing feel. I'm absolutely in love with these new features already, especially the outdoor furniture and crafting tools!
