LG C1 OLED Review In 2023: A Future Proof Powerhouse of Performance!

  • The LG C1 OLED is almost 2 years old, and yet the LG C1 OLED TV in 2023 is still competing head to head with new TVs. I bought the C1 about one year ago, and my main purpose for buying the LG C1 was for color grading movies and films in DaVinci Resolve; however, I also use the TV for gaming and content consumption when I am not working. 1 year later, I still feel this is one of the best TVs in 2023, especially if you're looking to get into OLED technology. Most of the newer OLED TVs in its price range offer incremental upgrades instead of huge leaps.

    One of the best reviews I've seen on TH-cam about the Legendary C1 and I stumbled across your review. As a proud owner of a C1 I agree with everything you stated and more. Its one of the best OLED tv's ever made by LG in my book and if people can still find one I say buy it and don't look back.

    Awesome perspective! I currently own the LG C1, and it's been an amazing experience so far. I'm looking forward to your color calibration video. I want to dive into that so I can calibrate my own set.

    I own a 65 inch C1 and it’s simply amazing. With all the new 3 series stuff coming out I’m on the hunt for an 83 inch C1. I just couldn’t imagine paying nearly $5k for a newer model and feeling like I’m getting that much better of an image. I’m not being a fan girl but I just don’t see how the human eye could tell a difference. I haven’t had a single friend or family member come over and not ask what my tv was, it really is that good. Could it be a touch brighter? Sure. Do I have black out curtains and dimmable lights in my media room? Yep! A family member had the Samsung S95B and maybe it’s his settings but my C1 blows it out of the water from an image standpoint. Yeah his gets brighter but that’s not always the be all end all. There just isn’t a competition from what I’ve seen and I just can’t see spending thousands more for a newer 2 or 3 model.
    Update: ended up snagging a 77 inch C1 with 1500 hours on it from my local classifieds. It really is just simply the best. They had better come out with something that changes how we view television if they expect to beat this. For all around use it has to be top 2 or 3 tvs ever made up to this point.

    That ending/outro message was beautiful. A sub just for that. The rest of the video was great as well! I didn't know the c1 had hdmi 2.1 and 120hz. Maybe it's only the 43 inch that doesn't? I was looking at the 43inch c2 but shoot. Maybe I should go for the 48 inch c1 instead! I forget if you mentioned what size yours was or not!

    Picked up a like new 48 C1 for $600. If you do your due diligence, can find some Incredible deals.
    Also, OLED motion pro on high is something LG never should have got rid of. Clarity in games is so nice to have.

    • @sidneybakergreen
      @sidneybakergreen  ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly it really depends on how big your desk is. 55 inches is quite big, but I kind of feel like I’ve gotten used to it as a reference display. But it would be uncomfortable if my desk was smaller, and I’m not sure if I would like it a monitor

    I only able to find C2 or C3 on the market. Which one would you recommend guys? How is the quality comparing to C1? Should I pay more to get C3 or better to save and get C2? Price difference is around 30% lower for older model.

    What is the most budget friendly receiver that will support the c1 to the fullest?
    Not paying 4 grand on a receiver i bought the c1 at some place opened boxed and used for a fraction of the price?
    Like 1 grand or something. Need the HDMI inputs more, gotta support the HDMI standers or the c1 and Xbox series x.
    I just see half hdmi 4k and 8k. They said 8k is hdmi 2.1. Need full bandwith for 4k 120hz hdr 10 and all that.

    Hey Sidney, I have a 48" C1 and I use it as a client monitor, and oh my gosh the tinting is so frustrating on black and white images it has blue tinting on the sides, apparently the C3 fixes this? Does yours have the tinting issue too? Otherwise for gaming and everything else it's perfect.

    I am lost because I wanted the c9 in 2020, but ended up getting the B9 which is amazing. So did the numbers start over?????? And I wonder how these compare because the LG c9 was next level, and the b9 is still light years ahead of all other TVs. I can't even watch TV and ANYONE else's house but my own

    I 100% hate my C1 83- The banding is terrible. I had a repair person come out before the warranty expired but they decided to call it the "moire effect" and said it wasn't an issue. I'll never buy LG again.

      @sidneybakergreen  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Ghost.living1 I’m not quite sure why your system settings would say that. The only way to be sure is to use a calibrator to display the value for you. Every TV is even going to have some variation in the same line the only panel that I know that can hit above 1000 nuts is the G3.

      I'm low key honored that you think companies as big as LG have reached out. Most companies leave my emails on read lol. Nonetheless, I bought this with my own money off of Amazon a year ago.
      My post production color studio started offering HDR color services that year. That being said, I am sorry about your experience. I cannot say I have had the same though.

      You’re wrong to think that your case would represent all. Just as it would be wrong for me to tell you that you didn’t have issues. As I said, I’m sorry you didn’t have a good experience, but to accuse someone of being paid to lie because they had a good experience despite your bad experience seems nothing short of jaded and bitter.
