I'm glad you've uploaded, it's been quite while. Your hair looks gorgeous with a silk press. As for natural hair, I've given up on trying to grow it so I can't give you any advice. I am so sorry sorry for both your losses. I know divorce is hard but I can't imagine the pain you went through of losing a parent. My prayers are with you.
My sincere condolences for your loss. Your hair's body and shine is beautiful, the length is pretty good too-considering all the cuts. Castor oil is gold-with continuous application, your edges should improve. I think incorporating a story time or rant about your dating life would be great. I feel you have a knack for story telling and something tells me the stories will be hilarious (for us, maybe not so much for you ;) even therapeutic, who knows.
Wow just stumbled across your channel & I can’t leave here without telling you how gorgeous you are. Your coils and your completley silky straight hair are both perfection. 😍
So sorry about the loss of your parent. And for the divorce as well. I've been there. Keeping crochet braids in for too long messed up my edges. I wore wigs for a bit, but decided to wear twists and I did roller sets because I get t tired of having my hair under a wig. Your hair looks very healthy.
Looking good lady! Your shrinkage is incredible. Dating stories could be very entertaining I think... As for protective styles that can help preserve your edges - what works for me is natural textured sew ins or crochet with the perimeter left out.
Hi sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose a parent. I am sorry you split with your husband too sending positive vibes your way. Glad to see you back on YT.
🙏🏽Sincere condolences for your loss🙏🏽 With reference to you hair, in my experience, if you are going to use braids to grow your hair, you should incorporate some kind of strengthening treatment before you put them in. Show your hair some real love in between. Whether it’s a protein treatment or henna, something like that. Give it a couple of weeks of TLC before you put them back in. I have learnt this lesson the hard way and my hair is all the better for it. I’m a braider and used to be relaxed (more than a decade ago), but had no clue how to manage my natural hair, so had it in spring twists back to back. My hair grew to almost waist length, but was thin and brittle and I had a bald spot in the crown. That shocked me into researching how to properly take care of my hair. Cut it all off and started again. It’s now full and thick and retains its growth length. I became Consciously Natural (used to be just plain lazy). Not a natural hair nazi, just made a conscious effort to educate myself about my black hair care and my hair is all the better for it. UK 🇬🇧 naturals sharing the love 💕
Your hair looks very healthy! Wish all the best strength in this difficult time in your life. I’ve tried online dating as well in London so would be great to hear about your experiences 🙂
sorry for your loss of a parent; Dating is also difficult. in regards to your hair i also had a similar experience. i feel like ive been trying to grow my hair for 10 years and Im going nowhere fast because I constantly cut my hair (split ends for days). so trying to grow my hair now while on my 2nd maternity leave. Im trying wigs for the 1st time and trying different things to grow my edges (2nd son stole them ! )
My hair journey has been a complete struggle too so I feel your pain sis. Half wigs worked well for me, wigs that matched my natural texture so i could let the front of my hair live 💜
Ma'am, did you not say in your Spring 2018 update that you'd be retiring braids. You know you have fine hair. Lol, just joking, have you tried curlformers (or waveformers), roller sets? You reset your hair weekly right - should be a good style.
Don’t listen to people, keep cutting your hair!! I completely destroyed my hair with heat last year and I had to cut it to my ear/chin! Twice! Now I am in the process of growing it out and getting trims from my stylist every 3 months and she is FLOURISHING!! Went from ear length to armpit length in 1 year. Now I just laugh when I see how short my curls were. I believe in you and your hair journey. I really recommend olaplex if you are looking for any new hair products
I've heard good things about Olaplex, thank you for the recommendation and the encouragement... I'm trying to be like you.... chin length to APL in one year... WOW 👏
You hair has come so far since that 2013-2015 heat damage period. Castor oil & Jojoba oil works best for edges .. scalp massages and rice water are also good alternatives for hair growth.
Sorry about your loss as well. ❤ Life is so overwhelming at times. Dealing with that and a divorce, it's no wonder you were gone from youtube for a while. Whenever I speak to someone about losing a loved one from death I think of the scripture John 5:28, 29. It says, "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life...." Very soon this earth will be transformed into paradise and people will be resurrected and live in perfect health forever. Sounds too good to be true but God promises us these things from the Bible. I hope this gave you a bit of comfort.
@@SimoneBrown No problem. ❤ Here's another I find comforting: Revelation 21:3,4- "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” I read this scripture the other night looking for comfort and it made me burst into tears. I can't wait till that scripture is fulfilled.
Really sorry to hear that, some textures are more prone to heat damage than others. I hope the damage wasn't severe and can be remedied with protein treatments.
Get some clip ins for while your hair is straight!! If you don’t like the wigs you can keep the clip ins in while you sleep and you won’t be a new person in the morning ❤️
My suggestion is to learn how to wear your hair in its natural state without breakage (no protective styles). It's possible. Experiment with different styles and techniques.
Faux locs/crotchet braids? But you braid the foundation so that it’s not too tight? To be honest, my hairline is a myth because I used to be on a MADNESS with Got2BGlue. 🙈 And crotchet or single twisting my own hair used to be the easiest and safest option for me. Your hair is long enough for both I think.
My condolences for your loss of a parent and your transition as a divorcee. Please use castor oil on your edges to restore them! Apply it daily even twice a day (day/night) if you must. Your edges will grow back. I actually love the layers in your hair because it makes it look fuller and longer imo. I want to take off my wig and get my natural hair done thanks to your video...however, wigs are just easier for me to style than my natural hair. I also wanted braids but now I'm rethinking them...!
Wigs are great for protective styling, I had my best results while wearing wigs. Braids seems to work for a lot of naturals I guess it just depends on how thick your strands are. I personally have to avoid them (even though I keep suffering from amnesia and return to box braids.... I watched a previous update of mine where I vowed to never wear box braids again 🙈)
I’m sorry for the struggles you’ve been going through, you’re so beautiful and strong. You’re such an inspiration and I love your update!!
I'm from South London, we are built to weather storms 💜
you're beautiful. im so sorry for your loss, dear. God bless and so happy to see you back on youtube.
Spring Twists are pretty and super light!

Yay so glad to see you back. Your personality is the best! Sorry to hear of your recent losses.

Thank you for your kind words.
Re: the dating video - I have a feeling I'll get a lot of backlash due to my naivety lol... I'll think about it.
Mimi I second that.
Yeah, I wanna hear some storied too...
Omgomgomg yess youre back
Sorry for being away for so long 💜
Oh my gosh I’m so sorry about your loss, Simone! So sorry.

S1MNICITY amen to that! Happiness is only guaranteed when we provide it to ourselves ❤️

Looks amazing!

My shrinkage is something, I was shocked too 😊. Maybe we could do a roundtable regarding our dating stories 😁
Perimeter leave out is definitely the way forward.
Much better than the length check video
Million dollar smile
Welcome back
💜
Hi sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose a parent.
I am sorry you split with your husband too sending positive vibes your way. Glad to see you back on YT.
💜
You hair looks healthy and Beautiful! 😍
Your hair looks great! Hopefully no heat damage dramas post silk press? Wow I didn't know they had a Lewisham branch.
My hair was ok post press... a tiny little bit looser but that's because my hair is very fine.
Your hair is still looking gorgeous as ever! Sorry to hear about your loss of your parent & the divorce, be strong
Thank you Miss J 💜
I would be interested in hearing updates of a personal nature (I.e., life updates), and hair updates. Thanks!
Sure thing

Hi how’s your hair journey been going? Hope you managed to find some hairstyles that helped you to retain length ❤️
It's going okay... Still far from great 🙈. I've decided to just wear wigs for the rest of the year and I'm going to give onion juice a try
You keep your head up boo! You're strong & beautiful
Wild growth oil, helped my hair to grow, the only thing I don't like about it is the scent, but that wears off after 10mins
Thank you💜
Hi girl where you been?....
My step dad passed, I filed for divorce and online dating 😟
Where are you? Please do another hair video soon.
I'm alive and well 🥰🥰🥰 My hair is misbehaving so she is on time out
I've done an update just for you 💕
@@SimoneBrown My girl❤️❤️

I've heard a lot about onion juice and rice water. I'll have to give both a try
I'VE MISSED YOUU!!! I hope you're okay!!
💜 All things considered I'm doing okay ☺

how long did the silk press process take?
Approximately an hour
I went to this salon and they gave me heat damage :-(
Really sorry to hear that, some textures are more prone to heat damage than others. I hope the damage wasn't severe and can be remedied with protein treatments.

Lol thank you for the advice 🥰
You really love straight hair don't ya x
I like seeing my length 😉

You are right because adding hair isn't an option for me
@@SimoneBrown Yeah for me too. I think my hair is too fragile for a lot of protective styles, even wigs.
omg hello!!
Heeey 💜
Sorry for your loss. I think the box braids were fine, you just had them in too long.
Thank you 💜
Re my braids, they were installed every 6 weeks. My hair is just very fine so doesn't do well with braids.
S1MNICITY Sorry, I thought you had them in for 4 months. My hair is fine as well so I only do box braids once a year if that.
Ma'am where are you 😅
😂😂 I literally posted a video today and I've just seen your message. I'm here still getting disrespected by these stylists 😫
Faux locs/crotchet braids? But you braid the foundation so that it’s not too tight?
