I love that she was so gentle with your hair and that she wasn't afraid to drop knowledge on you and she made conversation...I'm glad you had an awsome experience 💕
The things this stylist was saying was on point!! Cutting those split ends is sooo necessary. When I was transitioning and finally got rid of my straight ends it was such a relief! It is totally easier to style your hair when it’s natural and healthy.
i am a hair stylist and i must say she was very professional and showed so much knowledge it is so nice to see other black hairdressers in the uk who know what they are talking about!
This hairstylist was way more knowledgeable than the other that passed heat 8 times on 1 section of your hair. Hair looks great - keep up the good work🤗
Wow, I loved this video. It was inspirational to me. First, I wanted to mention how competent this hairstyles was VS.the other one. I liked how she took the time to assess your hair THOROUGHLY and she asked for your permission before she cut it. She didn't hack through your hair. While she was assessing your hair and breaking down what type of hair strands, and density you have. I noticed that my hair is similiar to yours in many ways. I have the same type, texture, and hair strand size. I have the same hair issues too. Like the knotting and the traveling hair breakage. My ends being thin, ETC. In turn these issues have derailed me from obtaining my hair goals a bit. But, watching this video today has helped me tremendously. Thank You!!
Compared to that nightmarish straighten blowdry, hotcomb, & flatiron debacle this was soooo much better. The way she was caring for the hair and using her tools you could tell she knew what she was doing
thank you for showing good uk stylists that do hair well!im from london and there is farrrrrrrrrrr too many black salons that dont have a clue what they are doing
I love the way she handled your hair, explained what was going on with the splits and she wasn't aggressive in using the flat iron. Beautiful trim I hope you do a 2018 update. Natural Beauty
stylist was very informed on hair. loved her diagnosis of the split ends. I would've had her straighten for the length check, then cut for the immediate health.
It's great to see the stylist positively interacting with the client. It's also really impressive to see a stylist that really knows what she's talking about. I would definitely considering going to this salon one day. Great stuff!
You are so beautiful!! And, I'm so glad you trusted her to trim your hair -- she seems to be an excellent stylist! I loved how she explained everything she was doing and actually asked you if it was okay to trim a section and the amount before doing it! I hope you continue to see her. Great video!
She did an amaaazing job on your hair! I love how she explained everything to you and helped you learn more about your hair. I love your hair, it's gotten so long and it looks so healthy! Beautiful 😊
I like your hair journey videos. You show the ups and downs of your natural hair journey unlike a lot of you tubers on here. They just post videos of the ups. Your hair is beautiful and I believe you will get to waist length....stay encouraged.
Wow, I've learned so much about my own hair by listening to her. she nailed my hair to a T because u and I have VERY similar hair. Thanks for sharing!!! She's super knowledgeable in her field. 😙😙😙
I absolutely love this stylist. She was so patient, upbeat and understanding of your concerns and needs. I need her in California! She should offer training courses, lol. TFS!
Just found your channel. Thanks for keeping your viewers updated on your progress. I'm a male growing my hair and as a black person it's kind of tough to get info on our hair. I was considering some radical hairstyles (compared to what i've done) similar to Miguel or Janelle Monáe, so i'm glad that i can get some info through your journey! thanks again
she did it better than both ladies before....that's good that you're trimming your ends...gradually do that until the dead ends are gone and you'll be fine😊
Thanks for the update! The stylist did a great job trimming your hair without cutting off all the length :) You hair is growing well, great job :) It makes me feel more hopeful about my natural hair journey as I am around the same length and have some of the same issues with tangling although my hair is much thicker density wise...
I can't tell you how many times I've watched this video, the stylist was amazing. She gave you such good information. When all this Covid problem is over, i must make an appointment with this salon. I live in the North East of England, Darlington to be precise. We need more stylists who have this knowledge and care for our type of African hair. Thank you for posting. 🙂
Your one of the few i enjoy watching to get encouraged about this natural hair journey.Because of the way you do it by having different videos instead of having the videos all in one flash. Each situation has its own separate but clear story of hair journey, thank u and i will continue to follow.
Wow after watching your other video on how heat damaged your hair I see the huge difference in this hairdresser than the other. This lady really got to know your hair, she put a lot more heat protective product, and she went slowly with the heat.
She was so great. I'm so glad you found her. Your hair will grow so much faster with those split ends that were traveling up through half the length. You could see that she really started cutting just the very very ends until you were more comfortable with the idea of shaping it and trimming a little more. You looked a lot happier with her. The other stylists made me cringe. They weren't speaking with you or checking on how you were doing when obviously you were anxious and stressed. This girl was more careful with you and with your hair.
Awenda yes but as your hair grows from the root, if you have split ends that continue to travel up the hair, the length that grows from the root doesn't get a chance to contribute to the actual growth and length of your hair. If the split ends are kept up with and trimmed a bit as your hair grows from the root, the thicker hair will grow longer instead of the ends fraying and causing half the growth to look thin or damaged. That's all I meant.
I had the same experience with split ends and a year and a half after trying everything I could do to get rid of them, I decided to have the damage cut off. It made a world of difference and it is growing faster than ever.
I love your hair! What an honest stylist too as she didn't force you to cut anything, but explained what was going on! Looking forward to my length check
You're so beautiful. You look like you're one of them hair models on the relaxer box cover once you're all flat ironed lol. Very glam. I like the way the stylist is talking to you about your own hair all the way through. Great job!
You are just beautiful!! I really loved that stylist. She was awesome and she did a great job😊 I would only want her to touch my hair from this point on!! Good luck Luv and stay blessed💗🌹
Wonderful stylist and great trim. love it! I just wanna say I get tired of people talking about terminal length and genetics, especially when it comes to our hair because a lot of people seem to think if it doesn't seem to want to grow past certain lengths we should just give up and say it's genetics or terminal length. A lot of factors can contribute to the growth or breakage of afro textured hair (literally down to what kind of water we use when washing and moisturizing). If I were to have thought my days of having short hair year after year were because of genetics, I never would've bothered learning about how to grow (retain) it. I got to a little past waist length before I big chopped a second time and out of the women in my close family, only a few that I'd seen had had hair past shoulder length. Literally nobody had waist length hair before me. So how can we blame it on genetics or terminal length when there are still so many black women who don't know how to retain length to even know what their terminal length is? If we're to look at those who came before us, they have to have known what they were doing with their hair in the first place. Anyway, I don't think any human being has a terminal length of shoulder, bra strap, or waist length. I really think anyone is capable of growing ankle length hair, but they have to do what their body and hair requires to retain that amount of length.
+Hope Wiley I definitely agree that there are a lot of external factors but my texture 4b and fine breaks very easily so it's really hard to retain length. I also live in a hard water area so that makes it even harder 😦
S1MNICITY Yikes. 4c over here and I deal with hard water too. I do an acv rinse whenever I wash my hair. It seems to help. Using a chelating shampoo every now and then is the best.
S1MNICITY Try using a chelating shampoo if you live in a hardwater area. Mizani do one and it's great for getting rid of mineral deposits. Hope this helps :)
Your hair grew soooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!! It seems like you've pasted a milestone or barrier or something! Happy hair growing, looks really healthy!
I love that you have completely fucked up your hair so many times. It shows the struggle!! A lot of natural hair vloggers have everything together. Waist length in 3 years. No heat damage. It makes them a little less relatable. Keep slaying girl! You'll get to your goal length!
+Paige Wilson lol I don't know whether to laugh or cry😂😂😂. We don't all have strong fast growing hair.... I'm reppin' for the slow growing, weak ass hair having natural sistas across the globe. 😉
+Paige Wilson i love this comment, it's SO true, and it's so hard to find vloggers who actually keep it real about the ups and downs of their journeys, or they 'magically' omit that they have naturally fast growing hair, or that their grandma and mother and aunties and cousins are all hairdressers so they've grown up in the salon chair, knowing exactly how to take care of their hair so their 'journey' is super easy for them already.
You become more beautiful with each passing year. Please KEEP THIS STYLIST!!! With her you WILL be able to have your dream of waist length hair! #noweave
Her journey is so inspiring to me. I just chopped my hair in the beginning of February and because of the way I transitioned, I have some bad heat damage in the front of my hair but this is a reminder that even through this I can still have gorgeous long hair. I just have to have patience and be willing to work with my hair.
Your hair is coming along beautifully! I also had heat damage so I can relate to your issues. My length passed the bra strap and I had to cut to my collar bone. I also had to learn to stop being obsessed over length and be more concerned with health. This stylist was on point! She knew what she was talking about and what she was doing. Your hair stylist this time is knowledgeable. yessss!
The stylist is amazing!! Props to her! Keep us posted Sim!
She's a really nice stylist. She was so considerate to ask permission to trim and then show how much she was cutting. Your hair looked very nice!
This hairstylist was way more knowledgeable than the other that passed heat 8 times on 1 section of your hair. Hair looks great - keep up the good work🤗
Also, this stylist is so knowledgeable and educated about hair... never seen a better one. wish I lived in the UK solely to go to her!!!
what a FANTASTIC stylist she was!

That's awesome! Your hair really has grown and improved drastically since like 3 years ago. Your videos are encouraging! Good job!
+Jasmine Cherry Thank you ;-)
Your hair grew soooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!! It seems like you've pasted a milestone or barrier or something! Happy hair growing, looks really healthy!
very helpful video. thank you! I'm so happy she mentioned the difference between 4c fine and 4c thick, etc.

I'm going to treat myself this Christmas by visiting the stylist in December. Thanks for the video! :)
You become more beautiful with each passing year. Please KEEP THIS STYLIST!!! With her you WILL be able to have your dream of waist length hair! #noweave
+wisdom seeker you are too kind 😁
the stylist is awesome. she is very in love with what she does
+ilovetrevor smith I really enjoyed my visit at her salon.
Her journey is so inspiring to me. I just chopped my hair in the beginning of February and because of the way I transitioned, I have some bad heat damage in the front of my hair but this is a reminder that even through this I can still have gorgeous long hair. I just have to have patience and be willing to work with my hair.
Thanks so much ;-)
Your hair is coming along beautifully! I also had heat damage so I can relate to your issues. My length passed the bra strap and I had to cut to my collar bone. I also had to learn to stop being obsessed over length and be more concerned with health.
This stylist was on point! She knew what she was talking about and what she was doing. You even looked happier in her chair than in the others. Good luck in your journey 😊
I missed your videos and your quirky sense of humour! 😍
I remember seeing your video a couple of years back when you got heat damage from a "hair stylist", It was that video that put me of going to a hairstylist to do my hair. But seeing this video Your stylist obviously knows what she's speaking about and how to take care of your hair. My faith is restored lol.
Omg this stylist is in Stockwell! Im going to call her asap. thanks so much for this video girl x
+SystematicSarah 😆 Let me know how it goes!
What she said about the texture and curl pattern is 100% true.
She did a really good job! I hope I can be brave enough to straighten mine too, one day lol
Hey!!!! I'd definitely proceed with caution when using heat especially if your hair is fine.
wayyy better than the last lady that did your hair ! my hair is just like yours and I've been slicking it back leaving heat off. I think you have great advice !
What a great stylist. If I could find one that good I might consider seeing one again.
Please stick with this stylist, she seems to be the most educated on natural hair, and she knows how to give you a silk blowout, so you get your hair the STRAIGHTEST it can be, so you get your truest length, with the most body and movement. She's definitely a keeper. She knows how to care for that beautiful hair of yours.
the girl that cut your hair is amazing, you don't find many like her, your hair should grow alot better now through that cut 😉
gurl i m so happy your BACK....
Loving your progress. PS you're GORGEOUS!
you are too kind 😉
It's soo good to see your video again.
Your hair is looking great
You're the only person I've ever seen look absolutely stunning in a barber chair.
