Thanks for this infomation ,and all the probles you had to over come to bring this to us appreciated , i do have a tesco not far from me with momentum 99 .So was particularly of interest, and great result .
You're welcome and thanks for the feedback! It's certainly a good option for a high octane, non-ethanol petrol that's cheaper than a lot of others too.
@@ravenheart369 Yes, it's because of where the refineries are and how the fuel is transported. I never knew we had pipelines across the South and up to the Midlands! It's very hard to find ethanol-free up North and in Devon and Cornwall unfortunately.
Thank you! I can only test Costo with samples sent in, as sadly there are none near me and I'm not a member. Costco oddly downgraded their 99 to 97 as the quality control is more stringent above 97. Given Tesco Momentum exceeds it, I would suggest the latter to be a better fuel overall, but doesn't mean others aren't just as suitable for your needs.
Debating what fuel to run for ford fair track time, got esso fuel card. Thinking tesco becos it's the cheapest now. You see esso are going to go e5 on there 99ron now. Mixed ethanol is now the only way. Thanks for testing.
Esso are only no longer stating their 99 is ethanol-free in certain areas, like all the other fuel companies. Esso previously guaranteed no ethanol in their Supreme 99 in the South of England (bar Devon and Cornwall) and South Wales. There's likely to be very little change at the moment. For track use, a high octane ethanol blend might not be a bad thing as the ethanol does give some cylinder cooling, useful if you're turbocharged. It's leaving it to sit in a fuel system that's an issue (and that we're getting less energy per volume with ethanol, so less mileage and being ripped off).
Thanks! I had a quick go in a MK8, but was a customer's car so couldn't push it to see how it compared performance wise. Good stuff, pretty much anything that's labelled as 99 octane is higher quality than all the 97 Super Unleadeds and given our cars have non-replaceable/serviceable fuel filters, it's a good idea to use it.
Hi, Has anyone tested Tesco Momentum 99 for ethanol in Devon.I have asked the people who worked at the Tesco petrol station if they receive paperwork from tanker what the fuel contains exactly ethanol wise but they said no paperwork gets handed to them at filling.
Hi. Not that I've seen, but it's quite easy to test for yourself, or feel free to send in a sample and I can do a video featuring it. Yes, it's no good asking at the station and even the fuel company head office/customer service; they just don't know what's going in each tanker to each specific station once it leaves the distribution centres. Thanks.
Hi Chav. It's a description of her appearance, since I'm complaining about a rude staff member and don't know what her name was. If she was green with purple hair and two antennae sticking out of her head, I'd have said "the alien lady." Stop race baiting.
I'll be first to say it....why is nationality of the garage staff being a Pakistani relevant? You wouldn't say the British guy at the counter so what's implied here
Because it's the primary identifier of the lady who was rude to me and others. If she were the only recognisably Norwegian there, I'd had described her as Norwegian. What are you implying here?
Thanks for taking your time to test.

Interesting video as always.
It's interesting how different regions get different amount of ethanol.
Another TH-camr tested Momentum and it returned 2.5% of ethanol in Momentum.

Great video, used to use Tesco 99 but currently using Costco. Would love to see what Costco fuel tests as.😊

glad to see more test being done and hoping to see more as time goes on

You made me put momentum in the Twingo gt now 😎
😄Well, it's rear-engined, RWD, so basically the same as a Porsche 911! I'd always opt for the 98/99 Octanes in anything I drive now.
Fascinating... Love the car by the way I have a fiesta st mk8 I only use Esso synergy or Tesco's momentum?

They just couldn’t be bothered to find it or don’t have access to it themselves
Whats the lady being pakistani got to do with anything? Chav
