Just binge watched all your fuel videos. Now everything at the pump in the UK has ethanol in it, can you tell us where you buy your ethanol free/race fuel from please?
Thank you! Appreciate the views. If you buy the "Super" or "Supreme" unleaded petrol, then many are still ethanol-free in most parts of the UK, from the Midlands to the South (excluding Devon and Cornwall). If you're in the North (including North Wales) or Scotland, then you'd likely have 2-2.5% ethanol. All 95RON standard petrol contains ethanol. Most of my videos are showing the top super unleaded brands (Shell, BP, Gulf) without it and the cheaper supermarket petrol with it (apart from Tesco Momentum) and how much as a percentage. My latest "On The Road" video will gradually be showing me getting petrol samples from different counties, or you're welcome to send one (need 700ml) in for me to test. As for race fuel, I make my own by using Shell V-Power and I add tetraethyl lead.
No probs, I appreciate all feedback and I should really be mentioning timestamps/chapters at the start. I always end up gibbering on more than I intended to! 😆
Hi I've watched most of your fuel tests but l couldn't see one on the Texaco 99 fuel maybe l missed it... I Have a tuned car and normally use Tesco 99 but have been impressed with how the car feels on the Texaco fuel seems to run smoother. Great work on all these tests you do btw.
Thanks very much for the kind comment. Texaco Performance 99 isn't available around here sadly, as I did a test on Texaco 97 which turned out to be an ethanol-blended super unleaded. Since then, none of the Texacos in each adjacent county to me have offered their 99 as yet. I'd be interested to test it to see how it compares. No obligation, but feel free to send in a 700ml sample.
@@austincaley5007 Ah, well Maidenhead is only about an hour twenty from me, so if TH-cam ever let me monetise or get membership, then I can go a little further afield.
@@boilerhousegarage l guess you already looked on there website to see your nearest stockist ,l did notice that at maidenhead some pumps still had the 97 old label some had the newer 99 supreme stickers l believe they just hadn't updated the stickers. Basingstoke and fleet also stock 99 but don't know your location..if that's to far a trek.
I have a BP rewards card and STOPPED USING IT months ago - why ? because they always charge more and give a little back so i would be adding to the problem of higher fuel prices - they call it loyalty but its not
I've given up using every loyalty card I had as they're just not worth it. I had the Shell drivers' club one and it earned a pittance (barely £2 every £1200 spend) and the free coffees and cakes couldn't be claimed at most Shell garages as the shops are different business.
Not in my most recent tests in this area. They only changed their wording about Synergy Supreme not having ethanol in like every other brand does, where previously they used to actually state the areas that didn't have it.
@@stevesaward3219 I'll be getting some Esso samples from either Peterborough or Cambridge before long (just to see how far this 93RON thing is spread out). I imagine the former is distributed from Birmingham.
@@ashb8572 This is Hailey in West Oxfordshire, just between the Cotswolds and Oxford. I've only found one "Super Unleaded" with ethanol in it for miles around here.
Many thanks , i never miss a video. Informative stuff.
Thanks, Mike! Appreciate the support 👍
Good news then for BP Ultimate. I agree the BP outlets need a lesson in manners but at least the fuel is good!
Totally agree with you bp staff are always rude 😂

The real content starts at 6:50.
Thanks! I have already time stamped the video for anyone who wants to skip my waffling.
@@boilerhousegarage Thank you and apologies...I missed that

Reminds me of the 'verrry interesting' in the ironic nerd voice a while ago.
In Australia only 98RON BP Ultimate has to be Ethanol free and it is! I've never heard of 97??@@boilerhousegarage
