    I’m not sure Bel reads this message, but this video gives me full power when I meet big blue ( exactly I don’t know what I like or what do I do ). When I graduated, I had no goals, and I don’t know what I do in my 20’s. But now I have same trouble, and I come up this video. Yeah, life is not moment. Every time I wanted cerebrate myself when I got somethings. I try to make a new goal again and not to stop for this feeling. Thanks Bel and Ted to make this video

      Obvious...
      If you would truly realize all of this and be better at taking initiative, you would've fulfilled your dreams already.
      Yes I know... I'm also bad at taking initiatives for now, but I'm getting better at it.
      Bro. Stop being all negative about these things tho'. It helps so many people and is very valuable information.

      Deglet Noor Hard is not to fight for a dream. The problem is when you "wake up" - realize that the dream was just a bubble of overblown expectations and fantasies which was formed due to lack of knowledge, understanding and experience about the subject.

    (English Homework) I found this TED talk really interesting. Indeed, we often hear the themes she spoke about, but the way she handled them was very different and fascinating. She used a reverse psychology to say what she wanted without losing the audience because this way attracts curiosity. It was very captivating especially when she said that life is about the journey and not the goals themselves. When we reach a goal we have to put another and enjoy every step.

    I think that this Ted talk by Bel Pesce is very interesting and very formative. In my opinion, she did a great job explaining what she thinks are the five ways of killing our dreams. She explained it in a very simple way for us to understand. She began by telling us how to kill our dream, then what we should really do and think of instead to reaching them. Furthermore, I found it very captivating because I also have big goals that I want to achieve in the future so I was already interested in this topic and I couldn't agree more with her on these five ways to kill your dreams. Especially on the parts when she said that you are the one to blame if something couldn't or didn't happen because since these are your dreams, you are responsible for it. When she talk about the "overnight success" as well, because you have put in the work in order to succed.
    Very good TED talk. (english homework)

      Now that I got there I never got a new dream. I am searching for it though, and I feel like the journey trying to find it is worth it.

    • @usherofsoulsxx212
      @usherofsoulsxx212 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hdmat101 Well life itself is about expansion, your dream might not be as elaborate/ big as writting a novel, travelling around the world etc but that does not rule out your human innate need for growth (because it's inevitable). Lets say right now in this moment in your life you are pretty satisfied in every area that matters to you and that your desire is just to be happy and be with your family. If so that in itself is a dream. Stay curious, stay open and life has a way of making you seek for more, just be open minded because the moment you stop desiring growth you have stopped fully living:)

    This Ted Talk was really interesting, the storyline was well brought and she was really clear about the different aspects that were needed to follow your dreams. The argument that I most agree with, is the one in which she says that you are the master of your own decisions, and your life.

    (Homework) This TED talk is special as the speaker uses a reverse psychology to catch our attention and make us realize and discover essential themes of success. We can see that she wants us to "believe" and accept the fact that WE need to make things work and we are the main (and only) actors of our futur' success in life. I like the fact that she shares her personal life with us as a proof that nothing can be an excuse for you to step back.

      Com esse nível de pronuncia e fonética eu me garanto falar melhor que ela. Ela comente os erros mais básicos entre iniciantes : não consegue pronuncia o ''TH'' e acaba a palavra saindo com som de ''F'', do tipo que fala ''Fink'' ; pronuncia o artigo ''a'' como se estivesse falando em português ; pronuncia algo básico como a expressão '' of a '' de forma errada em ambas as palavras quando o correto seria foneticamente o ''of'' com som de ''v'' e o ''a'' com som de ''ei'' ... e ETC !! 7 anos morando e convivendo com nativos, esses erros chegam a ser impressionantes, a não ser que ela só andava com imigrantes ignorantes.

    • @metalrog
      @metalrog 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sim, ela comete esses deslizes, ela tem forte sotaque. Mas eu diria que é aceitável, desde que vc compreenda (e que eles também, claro), afinal, ela não é nativa e a pronúncia perfeita vem com um longo tempo (7 anos é tempo suficiente, eu concordo). Se vc já conversou em inglês com gringos não-nativos, vc deve ter percebido que muitos deles também cometem esses erros. Com o português vale o mesmo. Tenho uns colegas gringos que moram aqui há muito tempo e ainda assim tem um sotaque muito perceptível.
      Pelo menos a fluência dela eu gostei.
      Um exemplo de brasileira (essa realmente faz) que palestrou por lá é a Suzana Herculano:
      www.ted.com/talks/suzana_herculano_houzel_what_is_so_special_about_the_human_brain?language=pt-br#t-73328
      Mesmo com muitos anos de prática, ela também tem um sotaque perceptível. Mas ela explora bem o vocabulário, como poucos.

    What I took from no. 4 if you were an inventor or creator was "If it doesn't sell, your dream is bad and get a new dream."

    • @SpiderGooseLoL
      @SpiderGooseLoL 9 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      HypernovaGN Yes your dream / product may be bad, but it's important to realize where you are at fault so that you can improve, not give up. If you keep on blaming others for your own failure, you will never improve. If the problem with your new car design is that it looks ugly, blaming your marketing team and replacing them won't change the fact that it is ugly. Maybe when you have created something truly worthy of accomplishing your dreams, no other persons faults should be able to bring it down, and you only have yourself to blame :)

    • @muraz4ki
      @muraz4ki 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HypernovaGN Most of the time, the idea that caught interest has a good basis but has not been properly developed. There's an important process in entrepreneurship called the pivot : You have your idea, you study it, develop it and present it/test it. During this process, you might see a flaw in the application of your idea : this is where you might need to pivot, and correct it.

    • @ColossalCake
      @ColossalCake 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      HypernovaGN More often than not a good idea will be poorly executed. It doesn't mean they should find something else. But rather take another angle on executing their idea.

      It's about being creative god damn it.
      If you find a problem with your product (unless it's a bad invention that people won't buy), be creative and find a way to sell it.
      Core to being a good inventor though is to invent something that as many people as possible will use, that is unique.

    This Ted talk was surprisingly interesting. I wouldn't say that all Ted talks are boring but the subject wouldn't have made me clicked on the video at first . What i liked however, was the originality of the subject , "how NOT to kill your dreams". This is not a usual way of treating the subject , because she gives you tips on how NOT to do things . The fact that we are given tips on How NOT whether than tips on How to makes the whole presentation more captivating. I also agree with the points she make, especially about the "overnight succes" . I would just have one little critic to her Ted Talk: she does not captivate her auditory everytime she talks. Overall very interesting Ted Talk (english homework)

    3. Believe that when growth is guaranteed, you should settle down.
    4. Believe the fault is someone else’s.
    5. Believe only the goals themselves matter. (not the journey)
    You probably notice it's all about belief, that's why the mind can be your strongest ally... or enemy.

    (HOMEWORK) This TED Talk was very interesting because the storytelling was different from the others ones. I like the reverse psychology of saying the wrong way before the right way. However, I am torn between agreeing and disagreeing with the third tip. On one hand, I think we should take time to appreciate our accomplishments and rest. On the other hand, I acknowledge that it's always good to stimulate oneself with new goals.
    In summary, it's a must-see TED Talk.

    In my opinion this TedTalk was well-written. It was informative and captivating at the same time. Thanks to the way she brought it to us : by saying how to really kill our dreams and then explaining what to really do. So it was funny and understandable. I think that her tips were useful to those that don't know how to handle a new business or a new project. However, I'm not agreeing with all of them, especially the third one because sometime you can settle when you've reached your goals. On the contrary, I cannot agree more with the first tip : what seems to be overnight sucess is really a long time run process !

    Strange, but EVERY time I get my dreams to come true, it is ALWAYS when I did it myself! Yes, I have had to step on shoulders of others, but they were not directly involved (i.e. I get it from a book, a video, etc.). But when I try to get help from others, it is usually not there!

    I've done incredible things in my life - but I've forgotten them and the skills I need to make them happen again. That's because it's too tiring. And it just gets more tiring.
    But I agree with women not settling, especially young women. Women settling means popping out babies. And god knows that having babies is like an immediate halt in one's ambitious right there and then. And will make everything 5x harder for the next ten years at least. Not to mention planet earth doesn't need any more human babies.

    Lendo os comentários só percebo a aptidão de muitos brasileiros em mostrar seu ódio contra outros brasileiros que, de algum modo, alcançaram sucesso, mesmo sendo um reconhecimento justo ou não. Bel Pesce é só um dos vários exemplos.

    The TED talk was very interesting. I can see how the mentalities that she mentions in the TED talk can influence the way I work towards my dreams. I think the most destructive mentality that she mentioned is the idee that success is achieved overnight. Many people watch others achieve their goal and believe that it happened overnight, however they most often overlook the fact that the people who succeed have been putting in work for quite a while. This mentality can be destructive because as a result people get frustrated when their own goals are not achieved and they think that their success should occur instantly resulting in them not going through the process of failing and learning. Kkkkkkk

      Concordo plenamente. A começar pela pronuncia do artigo ''a'' como se fosse em português e de não saber pronunciar o ''TH'', resultando naquele erro de inciante ao não conseguir distinguir ''tree'' de ''three''. Ela fala o ''TH'' com som de ''F''.Eu até relevei o som nasal demasiado na pronuncia por causa do seu sotaque paulistano em palavras como ''UP''. No mais, ela não muita noção de fonética. Isso é explícito !
