Tiger by the tail.. Yeah, I know its a standard but always brings back good memories from about 15 years ago. Camping with friends by a river in WV, listening to mojo nixon on sirus and howling at the moon after a few too many home brews.

Love's Gonna Live Here Again. I played bass in a bluegrass band all through the nineties whose front man was a Buck Owens fanatic who would critique my harmony vocals with "Don Rich it more, man, Don Rich it more!"

Oh I was living in Bakersfield during Chris Scruggs tenure. Saw those shows with Buck & Red. Actually I would stop in to catch Buck’s Act all the time. Loved Bako. On Friday & Saturday night, the shows would be aired live on KUZZ. Was at the Crystal Palace one week before Buck passed in 2005. Got a great pic of him that I treasure. He was at the CP if you saw his yellow Hummer 2 parked outside. Miss him. 💧

I grew up listening to country music because it's what my parents listened to. At the time I didn't really enjoy it that much but I didn't get to pick what station was on the radio. It was only in later years that I actually gained an appreciation for a lot of those old school country artists such as Buck Owens. And of course HeHaw was a regular at our house on TV. Probably my favorite Buck Owens song is I've Got A Tiger By The Tail .

My Buck Owens story…it was 1974 I was 20 years old my band and I read in the news paper that Buck was auditioning Country bands so we all hopped into my 1973 Ford Van and well had a road trip
It was only a two hour drive and when we got there Bucks offices was closed…..so we all camped out at Kern River wilderness area….it was beautiful Kern River has lots of White River rafting but where we were it was deep but not very wide, I think we all could have jumped across with a running start…lol so the next morning we all put on our best flannel shirts and jeans Tony Lama boots and went down to see our hero Buck….we arrived and talked to Bucks Secretary she was a sweetheart….she kindly told us Buck was out of town and the tryouts were next month….it’s ok we all had a blast

I have a great Buck Owens story. The last year of his ranch show. Near my birthday I would have been turning 7 .my mom wrote to Buck telling him my three favorite songs. Buck usually always sang three songs on the show. The night of my birthday the show was on and Buck sang all three songs.
Could have been a coincidence but I don't think so. Sadly in 2008 Buck passed on my birthday Mar 25.
