    58:45 Briatore makes a very good point about how *Ron Dennis* underestimated how good Hamilton was going to be. If he knew, he wouldn't have signed Alonso, thus avoiding the civil war we saw at McLaren in 2007.

    31:00 Briatore finally explaining Michael did never have better material but was just unbelieveable quick! This car changing story with Patrese is just amazing! Even if that was clear to anyone with only some F1 knowledge(as NO team would weaken themselves on purpose by giving one driver a worse car), its an amazing story and enlightening for some fans without real knowledge about F1!
    Also Briatore finally explaining again the politics (he did that even more in detail in another interview for BTG) behind the race bans etc. in 1994 - great! And if they put that in relation to some things that happened later in F1 throughout history - maybe some things get clear to them.

    • @mp4986
      @mp4986 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but as usual, he's not telling the whole story. Michael's data was not available to his team mates but their data was available to him. Plus everything was geared towards his preference.
      Now, in saying that, he was the better driver than them, it is true but he didn't allow a level playing field.

      @@pippo9830 Andrea Stella who worked with Michael and Alonso compares the two. He says “If you take a circle of qualities, where Fernando is very high [in all of them] but potentially not the best in any of them, I think Michael was potentially the best in some of them, but in some others he was weaker than Fernando.” he said comparing the two.
      “So Michael’s would be more like a star, whereas Fernando’s is more like a perfect circle. Michael was an attacking driver. He approached things from beyond the limit, back to the limit. Fernando is more from below the limit, to the limit.”
      “So with Michael, the engineers had to have an active role in trying to control his capacity and say: Michael, where are you doing this and where is the car doing that? We need more from the car and less from you.”
      “Fernando understands his own limits better, and he is very good at understanding where he is contributing and where the car is contributing. He can prepare the car for the race very well thanks to this.”
      “Another interesting difference is that Michael was very analytical and dialectical. We spent so much time speaking about the car. Fernando is a concise person. When he comes back to the pits, in the first three words of his feedback, he has said 95% of his point.”
      “With Michael, the technique was more about filtering the essence from the details. With Fernando, it is more using a lot of specific questions to build a detailed-enough picture from the essence.
      “His sensitivity to the car is exceptional. It is just a matter of where you feel comfortable as a driver. He feels comfortable if he knows that we are attacking 90% of the problem.”

      You are aware that Ross was in F1 almost 10 years before the name Briatore was even heard in F1? So sorry but what you say is totally wrong...without Briatore Ross would just have worked for someone else in F1...
      By the way - its Brawn. Ross Brawn. Not Brown.

    I am now 16 years old and just started kating do I have any chances to become a Formula 1 or 2 driver or is it to late
    I would really appreciate an answer

    • @michaelastockbauer672
      @michaelastockbauer672 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Felix M usually F1 drivers, since 30 to 40 years, started their career with 8 or 9 years. With 16 they usually have won European or World Championships in karting. And with 16 they usually have already won Formula Ford and are close to their first F3 Season....
      So you are much too late to get in F1 or F2 if you just started karting....you must have been European or World Karting Champion, Formula Ford Champion or at least 2nd with 16 years to just have a chance to get in F1 one day. You must already have at least a 4-5 year long, sucessfull career with 16 to have a chance to get in F1.
      Your only chance is - participate in Kart-Championships and beat anybody by a mile! Get to the World Championship or European Championship and beat anybody by a mile! Then you maybe will get a chance in Formula Ford in 2 years. There you have to beat anybody by a mile in your first season. Then you maybe get a chance to prove your talent in F2 and get in F1.
      But that is, i would say - impossible. You have to live and breath Karting. Train 24/7. And have biggest natural talent. Then you may still have a small chance. But normally - its far too late to start with 16.

      I have a feeling that Keke might not be interested to do it. He’s very rarely in the public eye these days, the last time I saw him give an interview was in 2019, during the Monaco GP weekend for our Finnish TV. He was very actively commentating on races in the 1990s but I think he quit that completely(?) after 2007.
