From what I recall the Government is actually still in Moscow. The deal is though is that they were essentially trying to create some kind of fucked up enclosed isolated state that was convinced it alone was the survivor of the war and inorder to control it they created a war within the metro between the 4 factions. Polis, Hanza, Reich and Red Star, The leaders of all 4 were coopted by the Russian Government. In order to help aid in this the Russian government set up radio jammers and satellite comms jammers outside moscow to eliminate as much outside communication as possible.
An additional detail that I forgot to add. The government that was set up in the Metro isn't the Russian president, politburo or even the military from what I recall. It was some guy from the Russian Intel agency and a small group of officers from the same agency. The actual civilian government along with most of it's leadership died to what is said to be somekind of experimental bioweapon that hit the Kremlin before they even realized there was a war. This created the giant mutant blob boss in Metro 2033 that is hugging a reactor. In the book the blob is also psionic. It uses it psychic ability to manipulate people to coming to it. The main characters go down stairs into a tunnel system only to realize at the last second why and when did they decide to go down the stairs and in reality realize its some kind of trap. The blob was waiting at the bottom. In Metro 2033 there is a constant legend that anyone who goes to the Kremlin or even looks at it will die which reinforces this sort of siren like psychic ability in which victims are lured in. The blob in question is thought to be the dead bodies of everyone infected with the bio weapon that ended up amassing together into some kind of hideous mass. This also brings up multiple other issues which were later confirmed to an extent by the more recent metro book from the author that takes place in the United States and not Russia, finally giving an American view point. The first point being that based on how the Russian's were hit so bad and that their government was already dead that they did not launch first or at least they didn't fire their warheads first but may have still started the war conventionally. The second is revealed in the American book which shows that the US most likely was highly successful in comparison as they actually have a sort of functioning nation which hints that much of the Russian arsenal was knocked out. In the US they are literally in the rebuilding and reconstruction phase while the Russians still live in the Metro's. To be specific the Southern US is considered a bastion of safety and prosperity as it evidently managed to avoid getting hit to any significant degree, I think it was mentioned the capitol was moved from post nuke Washington D.C. to some place in the South East. While the mid west has turned into a sort of 21st century frontier/wild west in which American life is making use of its extensive road and railroad network. IE life in the US is not spent underground in the tunnels, its spent on the move in caravans that move from town to town or to cities that have built a layer of defenses from raiders and mutants. There is a constant point that is brought up about how characters would like to immigrate south at some point where there are no mutants and law and order are a thing even out of view of any population centers.
@@barbussyasschandler To an extent yes. It's been awhile since I read the stuff with the Americans but the US seemingly is doing quite well in comparison to a large chunk of the world. While the Russians live in squalor in tunnels the US is sort of dumped back to the early 20th/late 19th with their civilization being spread across the open via the highway and rail network thats rapidly re expanding back to pre war areas. Another thing that needs to be considered is that the Russians have self imposed their shitty situation. The 4 factions fighting in the metro are all puppets of the intel services of the Russian government who decided to effectively isolate Moscow from the world. Part of said plan is a communications jammer in Moscow that prevents long range comms to make it appear only Moscow still exist as much as possible. If not for this Russia might be doing far better than it currently is. There is also the implication that the US actually struck first. The vast majority of the Russian government apparently died in the first strike and pre strikes, the Kremlin getting hit with a bioweapon that turns the entire civilian government into the psychic blob in Metro2033. If the US is recovering and they struck first it would imply that they took steps ahead of time to prepare for the nuclear winter etc and to preserve civilian, industrial and military functions which makes sense if they knew they were about to shoot.

Still I recommend this game for those who does not have, BUT i suggest read 3 Metro books first, then play the games ;)
Loved Metro and Metro LL, never finished Exodus unfortunately since I switched game consoles and didn't want to restart. Feel like the game was best with the levels, open world is kind of overrated and just meant more walking around in between the interesting parts.
Why does that doctor look like the medic from tf2??
It all started when the patient woke up with a missing skeleton
Yamantau in Bashkir means "bad mountain." Yaman - bad, "tau" - mountain. Also Yamantau mountain is located in Bashkortostan.
I can’t wait for the next METRO game!
Shiet I didn’t know Tank Dempsey was in this game 😂
I was doing this level so many times and was wondering why I wasn't progressing due to my gun no firing so I thought oh is this part of the challenge, I found this video and realized it was my game being bugged lol.
These times, its hard to see the difference
Just a few not all
Hahaha yeah just a few they’re just a little eccentric that’s all
God this game is incredible.
sam sounds like the same voice actor as Tank Dempsey from Cod
now that i mention it, i think metro was another project-
yeah that voice actor is in a tonne of tv shows, anime and games. Very prolific.
The most accurate representation of the russian army.
And then you seal them inside forever to eventually kill each other
I had hard time getting into the game actually. This part made me fall in love with the game.
i just found out that sam has the same voice actor as Dempsey from black ops zombies
One of my favorite moments and levels in the game
gotta love it when a scriptwriter attempts to write dialogue in an accent
Why do you say that
Melnikov ("Miller") have such a strange voice acting compare to russian, btw i like Sam's dub at this one more, it's not so ostentatious american
Sam is played by the man who voices Tank Dempsey from the Cod zombies storyline as well, oddly enough his character is very american.
lol I cant believe they got a character named Idiot.... ahhahah took me while to get it
The best chapter in Exodus, I tell all my friends about yesyes
Whah I don’t get is how we’re there so many in there lol
The first time playing this part I was laughing like a lunatic cuz I was terrified half the time
I don't understand, if they could contact the outside, why didn't they just ask for supplies or at least attempt to call for help

Translation: (Yelsin / Putin), it you losed our great country!
Actually it says "Death" (left wall), "Give me back my brain" (center wall) and "It is you, bitch, that drank away the country" (right wall)
A few more months, and this would be acceptable in New York

The horror
God it's a good thing the AI is so bad. I swear more than half the time you were looking the other way when new enemies spawned. lol
It pissed me off how he was looting when there were enemies nearby
RIP COLONEL MILLER, YOU WERE A REAL G
Can't loose something you never had in the first place
Basically this is Fallout but based in Russia.
well, this isn't an RPG
@@fuckedlaptop364 like the graphics reminds me of it
Nah, not really Fallout
Man it should be mandatory to play Metro games in Russian. The dialogue really comes to life somehow it feels wrong and too exaggerated when it’s in English.
Miller??wtf??? his name Melnik
Wondered why they changed that too. In the german translation Melnik stays Melnik :)
This guy is so good 😎
This is definitely my favorite level. Just you, an AK, and bunch of shrieking cannibal communists. (The doctor does seem to be a Nazi.)
Only a few marbles, not that many
Oh no anna what happened😱🤧
Doom: Exodus
Gee, how many victims are eaten in a bunker?
What a masterpiece of a game
Reference as Chinese.
They had marbles to begin with ?
Just wish it was in Russian.
There should be more games in their native languages, I am sure this would sound awsome in Russian.
It is
It is
I feel like Miller wasn’t written very well in the game. Just seems so ignorant to walk right into that trap.
much more ignorant in books
Where did these people get so much fuel for these machines?
damn the Ukraine war really did a number on the upper echelons, and you think their invasion plans now are crazed lol
7:10 yooo am
I gotta play this with surround sound
mantap
you got games on yo phone
got:
This is not a game, this is reality.
Russians being Russians. 10/10 for realism.
