    What people don't seem to realise is that finding the map in that facility took the lives of so many stalkers. We see occasional corpses of stalkers in the area carrying ammo for you to scrounge. There are arrows and markers everywhere, telling us where to go. Rooms that were already search will have "Searched, no maps" written at the entrance so the next person won't spend so much time in the radioactive area. How many stalkers died leading to this? A dozen perhaps. All sacrificed their lives in hopes that the next person that comes would find the map and escape this hellhole.

      And in the end their efforts were not in vain. In the end their collective efforts to assure the next person just might get the maps paid off, a new group found the maps and made it to the promised land, and they intend to bring more.

      Theres a diary that you can find, idk if its the same stalker or one from another team, total of three.
      5 minutes in a single archive and it takes up a monthly dose of them greens,
      A WHOLE MONTH FOR 5 MINUTES, a squad is up to 4 or smth.
      And they were even talking about the blind ones being one of the reason as to why "Several squads" went missing, that place is terrifying.

    Metro exodus is a criminally underappreciated masterpiece. It is literally impossible to express the magnitude of the atmosphere that is built around its storytelling. It is the pinnacle of what I call a "psychologically heavy" game. Most games have a light almost comedic feeling about them even if their plot revolves around some really grim stuff like war and death. The Metro franchise on the other hand isn't just you playing a game it is a completely different experience. Whenever I get to play the franchise and especially exodus I get this sad and hopeless vibe bursting inside me, almost like I am a part of this broken, cold, dark and filled with misery world only to get a few glimmering moments of warmth when you talk and drink with Burbon and the traincart passenger, or when your brothers in arms and Anna await you after your lonely survival journey in the harsh outskirts of Moscow. Or when you are riding on the aurora celebrating Stepan's and Catja;s wedding. Then after all this they hit you right in the feels with this heartpumping experience of trying to escape from a literal hell only to fall short just for an inch and finally having to witness one of the most touching and amazing speeches given between a hero honoring another hero who passed away, redeeming the sacrifice that was made. I literally couldn't care less about its short length...this is what art should look like.
    To think that metro wasn't even nominated for 2019 GOTY just proves that not many are truly capable of appreciating the true meaning of what is beautiful in this industry, at least sekiro was indeed a beautiful game.
    Thank you 4A, for everything !

      Not really. The dialogue on the train between the "Spartans" was cringe inducing and sounded like it was written by a 12 year old, as was the dialogue between the player and his wife.
      Also the endings were either super happy or super dreadful with nothing interesting or memorable, as is expected from video games.

      @numalesoybea1348 You've got to understand the game is translated from Russian, and the translations are very inexact, causing some dialogue to sound blunt and childish. This is also a problem in the books, or really any translated Russian media. What sounds to us English speakers as "cringe" or "childish" might be a perfectly reasonable thing to say in Russian.

      this is honestly one of the best reasons for a faceless protagonist. it makes the player imagine more in themselves of the character they're playing as, it becomes a really emotional and efficient way to get the player immersed in the story, and truly feel what it is like playing through the character. i just finished this dlc minutes ago, the campaign ending didn't make me cry as hard as this one.

    Somthing I’ve always noticed after playing TDC and TTC. Is that when Artyom and Mel’nik find Kirill he’s completely hostile. Spending three months on his own he’s scared. But the one thing that snaps him out of it is Mel’nik speaking to him as a soldier. “What’s your name soldier?” It’s obvious by their dialogue that Khlebnikov brought his son up as a military boy. (Constantly calling him private and when telling him to do his chores he orders it like a commander “eat that liver, without fail”) and his father was kirills whole world. So after spending months alone in the dead city, despairing in the fact that the man he loved and idolized was dead. The thing that snapped the boy out of it was another colonel speaking to him like his father did.

    • @MidoriGa95
      @MidoriGa95 22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Spot on. I noticed that too when Miller said soldier Kirill finally stopped resisting and answered the question with full pride though his voice quivered a tiny bit. Cant imagine how he felt the whole time being alone in that tunnel

  • @thebreadman1144
    @thebreadman1144 3 ปีที่แล้ว +36

    I just got the DLC and holy hell, the atmosphere of the two colonels literally made me want to cry. Like man...the guy you play as wanted to help people, but at the same time, do the right thing to make sure that everyone (or most people) would be okay, but doing his duty and thinking he could come out with his brothers he was let down, backstabbed. All the people you are with either turn on you or are brutally killed in such a backstabbing way, gas, gunshots, lies.
    And then even after all of that, he goes on to try to keep his son safe, and by any means necessary. And at the very last stretch...I fell asleep...and never woke up.
    Then, the two colonels meet, both with the same purpose, and eventually the same outcome, passing the torch on to help prevent the past from happening, the way Miller talked to Chlebnikov`s body was just, it left us all speechless. This game has such deep connections with emotions and is very much a psychological game too. There isnt such a huge basis on war and shooting aliens or run and gunning. It paints a perfect story of trying to survive in a broken world where everything is hopeless. And man, I think im gonna cry after finishing this DLC
