Virgin Pendolino Clocked Doing 180mph!

As a special introduction, as well as a Christmas treat, the conservatory layout was transformed into a speed trial testing area. Up first is the Virgin Pendolino from Hornby which managed to achieve an incredible scale speed of 180mph Enjoy.

Makes you wonder what it would feel like inside the carriages, taking those bends at 180mph!
***** I doubt whether a Pendolino could take those curves at ANY speed. I'm guessing the scale radius would be 40-45 metres-ish, far tighter than it would have to negotiate anywhere on the UK rail system.
Crystal Palace station has a really tight curve. The train goes about 20mph tops

I have to say that I love your videos you do but I've just spotted this one as I've just bought a Pedolino and I did a search on TH-cam for reference and this video came up and I think that this is probably the best yet - absolutely fantastic, the music sets it off perfectly and the camera work is brilliant - well done in producing such a great video...........Graham

Awesome video, it goes much faster than 140mph design speed of the prototype. I reckon even if you went to the full 9 coach length it could still do that, or at least well over the 125mph it's currently allowed to run at.

Subscribed! Me and my older brother used to have a layout about ten years ago but as we downsized we unfortunately had to sell our collection and dismantle the layout :( Would love to in the future get back into this but for the time being I'll make do with watching your reviews

You can phone them, sigh up using their website or fill out the form found in most train sets and send it off.
Can i ask you, where do you have the power car in your train? I put together a 9 car pendolino set and found it would only run without derailing with the power car at the tail, propelling the other 8 coaches.
