Original Song:
• Kiss - I Was Made For ... - บันเทิง
In '74, i was 14, and a friend introduced me to KISS. From that point on, every inch of my bedroom was covered with KISS pictures and posters, except the ceiling, that had 1 poster, Farrah Fawcett😊
Ah yes, KISS in the disco era. Cheesy, but fun. It's a massive rabbit hole, let's go! I grew up on KISS, was 6 when this song was released. Rock and Roll All Night is probably their most famous. I have heard it at numerous sporting events over the years. Same with Detroit Rock City.
Unfortunately, most women hate regular Kiss songs. It’s great for those of us that lived through it and loved the metal roots but for some reason chicks just don’t get it…besides maybe the hair metal phase in the 80’s but the rest of us hate that so hard to find agreement on “the best” Kiss. She’ll hate real Kiss I think 🤷♂️
Kiss Alive and Kiss Alive II are classics
Disco KISS makes me giggle. But it's still inexplicably good.
They wrote that song as s shot at disco and how they disrespected it and thought that it was garbage.
Disco got to almost everyone in the seventies. Even ELO, with Last Train to London.
You got it, KISS is a band that put on a show. Showcase who and what KISS is, try "Detroit Rock City" and "Rock and Roll All Night".
Great songs! I like their earliest stuff, black diamond,100,000 years, lick it up. Try and find the oldest versions you can find.
@@kevinrogers7650"Lick It Up" is NOT early KISS.😂
KISS came out during the era of what was called "Shock Rock" or "Glam Rock." Artists like David Bowie during his Ziggy Stardust era and Alice Cooper. They have always said that they wanted to be the group they never saw growing up. Their shows had a lot of fireworks, smoke bombs and flashes. Each member created their own on stage personality and make up. Gene Simmons liked those old Horror and Monster movie classics from Universal. Like Godzilla, Dracula, etc. So he created "The Demon" persona. Paul Stanley loved those ol' Motown groups and thought of himself as a Lover. So he created "The Starchild" persona. Peter Criss had been through some tough and dangerous times as a kid growing up. He thought he had 9 lives like a cat. So he created "The Catman" persona. Ace Frehley was into outer space and astronomy, so he created "The Spaceman of Space Ace" persona. A lot of their music from 1974 to 1978 is some of their best music. Detroit Rock City, Shout It Out Loud, Rock n' Roll All Nite, Love Gun, God Of Thunder, Deuce, Cold Gin, Shock Me, Beth, Hard Luck Woman, Baby Driver, Strutter, Firehouse, are just a few of the songs they were known for back then. In the 80's they switched to the L.A. hair metal sound like everyone else. Here is some interesting trivia for you. This song come about out of a bet. The producer of the album made a bet with Paul Stanley that he couldn't write a Disco song, so he did. I remember that era well and the "album burning" stunts a lot of Churches had in their parking lots back then. KISS, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, anything that was hard rock or metal. They had people show up with their kids albums and burn them right there in the parking lot. It was crazy. As if burning an album would get rid of hard rock or metal music. But yeah this was a great reaction. You might look into some of their other songs. They were a fun group and like you said this was about stage personas that got people's attention.
"Deuce" from the Midnight Special
"Detroit Rock City"
"Rock N Roll All Nite"
"Shout It Out Loud"
"God Of Thunder"
hard to pinpoint a particular song or video that captures what KISS was. They evolved, they changed, they grew. very wide catalog,
Kiss never meant to look evil. A great no makeup Kiss song is " forever"
I've seen KISS three times in concert, believe me it's worth every penny. 👍
Oh, they were HUGE in 70's! And fans were in millions ("Kiss Army"). "Detroit Rock City" in 2006 Live Concert at Mandalay Bay Events Center of Las Vegas next, please.
Saw KISS at the Spectrum in 1978. Best concert ever.
I saw them twice in late 70's in michigan. They even was in Cadillac High School homecoming parade and halftime! Their song Beth is smooth. Peace from Northern Michigan.
Rock and Roll all Nite ; is their most popular. Detroit Rock City, Beth, Love Gun, Duece, Shout it out Loud, Hotter than Hell - are some from their painted face era, then the unpainted KISS there are Lick it Up, Forever, Crazy Crazy Nights, Heavens on fire. Are a few to start with. There's plenty more they've been around since the early 70's.
Back then there were a lot of bands. Kiss wanted to stick out from the others. So they painted their faces. They were mysteriously different. So people were drawn to them.
Very mysterious :D
You need to listen to the Unplugged version of I Still Love you by KISS
Paul Stanleys range is awesome been a fan since my first show in Nashville TN on the very first tour 4/16/1974
"Beth", "Detroit Rock City" and "Rock and Roll All Night", some of their biggest hits!!
THANK YOU FOR THIS REACTION...MY FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME ❤❤❤❤
They're entertainers for the show for the fans
Kiss is better than their reputation. I am sure 80% of the people who don't like Kiss don't know much about them. The album 'Destroyer' is iconic to me, 'Detroit Rock City' or 'God of Thunder' are my favorite songs on that. Then 'Creatures of the Night' and 'Domino' are insanely good but less known. Other great choices for a listen: 'Cold Gin', 'She', 'Black Diamond'. Sweetest love song is 'Beth' for sure.
This is the best reaction I think Kiss is the best band
I recommand you : I still love you , live MTV unplugged 1995
Their classic songs detrpit rock city and wanna rock and roll all night and party every day
Nice review! They were a band transitioning from glam/classic rock through the disco era when this was made. They used the make up to establish a brand and following which developed into the Kiss Army!! Check out Calling Dr. Love, Detroit, Rock City, I want to Rockin Roll All Night, Shout it Out Loud, and Beth (Ballad).
"Say what you will about Kisses musicianship, but there was not a harder working band out there." Neil Peart, RUSH drummer from Beyond the Lighted Stage documentary.
KISS stand for KISS. On of them had a band befor name Lips so him was just say "hey what about kiss" and the other member think is was a good idea.
Been listening to KISS since I was a kid, seen them live in concert, awesome cool show yay, good review yeah 🎸🎸🎸🥁🎤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
My 13 yo grandson was obsessed with KISS when he was 5. My fiance' did his face make-up as Gene Simmons and I found an awesome costume and guitar on Amazon for Halloween that year. Everyone kept commenting on how cute he was. He was doing the whole tongue thing that Gene does and taking on those rock poses. It was so fun! We then took him to see them in concert about 4 months later. He was so excited! It ended up being a great night!
#KISS
I still love you by kiss from MTV unplugged. Paul’s best vocals!
There it is ... at 5:44. THE FACE. You're feeling it. As they (Kiss) say, "You'll never forget your first KISS".
I had Gene Simmons fashion doll when I was like 3/4
Man I wish I still had that thing
I was 8 years old the 1st time seeing KISS live , that was in 1976!!
Ahhhh. Roller skating memories lol
I love that almost every reactor on TH-cam listens to this as their introduction to KISS and it sounds absolutely nothing like 99% of their music. "Love Gun", "Cold Gin", "Detroit Rock City" and on and on. Please give them another shot (but not "Beth" 😉). Cheers.
Creatures of the Night
Beth
I Love it Loud
Luck it Up
Black Diamond Live
One reason I heard Kiss painted their face when starting out was...that way they could remain anonymous...they could walk down the street and no one would know who they were...you need to hear, "Heaven's on Fire"
I bet you'd like the song Crazy Nights ...
seen KISS two years in a row in the 2000's and they put on a magical show, the sounds, lights and theatrics was just awesome. there will never be another KISS just not possible
Kiss was built. For the rock n roll hall of fame ❤ they always take you on a ride❤
Great reaction, Rosalie! Never cared much for KISS, but they sure had some bangers.
I saw them on their End of the Road farewell tour, it was emotional for me, I've been a fan of them since 1974.
Noice pick. KISS’s “God gave Rock N Roll to you” is fire 🔥 and may be worth a squint
Like kiss or not, kiss remains one of the biggest and most influential bands of all time
lol
do you believe in the invisible army?
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 do you believe in miracles?
@@mooch514 yes
I was 9 years old when this song was released. Brings back memories.
I had back row tickets in 77 in Toronto...Gene was on an elevated stage, awesome performance and the gave me an autograph before they went into their dressing room to party ..bubble gum band for sure but loads of fun...great marketing more than anything and they would tell you that as well
Everyone remembers when KISS went disco, everyone did it, the Stones, the Dead, Pink Floyd.
If you dig the bass 'I love it loud' If you dig the guitar 'Dark light' 🔥
Check out 'I Still Love You" from the MTV UNPLUGGED show. Great example of what they could do without the makeup and fireworks.
Yes, for sure do this! Great experience. A lot of emotions on Paul Stanley voice.
Rosalie+KIISS=Beauty!
The Rock Band That Showed Up All Disco Performer's.Artist And Created THE BEST DISCO SONG EVER !!!!!
Hello there I loved your reaction to this video I actually held that guitar that lights up I worked for these guys I have been a fan for 50 years
A favorite KISS song of mine is a sort of lesser known one called, "She." Their more well known songs like "Rock and Roll All Night," "Detroit Rock City," "Calling Doctor Love," and a ballad called "Beth" are all good songs.
You're right, the make-up and image are all about the show.
The 'MTV Unplugged' version of Kiss doing 'I Still Love You' - Paul's vocals are very strong.
GenX loves KISS!! We grew up to their songs.
Give Boston's phenomenal "more than a feeling" a listen.
3 minutes after post love your content so much I dropped everything to watch
I’m honored :)
The MTV Unplugged version of I STILL LOVE YOU!!!! best version.
Live versions of Black Diamond, Detroit Rock City, Shout It Out Loud might give you an idea of the show. Cheers
That bass though…
The Name KISS came from Paul Stanley being in a band called Lips. He said the next logical meme was KISS so that is where the name came from.
Black Diamond from Alive!
KiISS is simply BAD ASS! There is a great documentary of them on Hulu explaining (Gene and Paul's upbringing and what the word KISS really came from).
It's in "Umbrella Academy' S1.
As for looking evil, it's just the bassist who looks like a demon. The other 3 are glam, scifi, kitty cat.
KISS goes disco in 1979 for the disco label "Casablanca records". They stopped wearing the makeup in 1983.
The video for "Black Diamond" on the Midnight Special would be a great one to check out. They were young, hungry, and on fire!
Disco Kiss :D.
Figured out I was getting old when I was at a department store, and over the muzak comes a familiar tune... Kiss's 'Beth'. OMG ;D
Try something from Rock 'n Roll Over or Love Gun, much more representative of their music over the years.
Excellent video as usual. Thank you
when this plays in my car, i catch myself going a bit too fas. love it!
The song BETH from KISS is worth a listen.
I LOVE IT LOUD
Black Diamond, Let Me Go, Rock 'N' Roll, Rock 'N' Roll All Nite, Detroit Rock City, and Love Gun. Listen these songs from Kiss
Welcome to the awesomeness known as KISS!
I still like Sure Know Something. Think it was the follow up hit after this one off same album. (Here in Australia anyway) It was this album that made them sooooo huge.
One of my favorite songs from Kiss, but not very well known is "Good girl gone bad" from Crazy nights, but if you want to hear a heavy metal ballad from them, listen "I still love you" from Creatures of the Night.
You're right, fragments of this song are featured in movies all the time. My favorite one is in Moulin Rouge, when Obi-wan Kenobi, er, I mean, Ewan McGregor sings to Nicole Kidman "I was made for living you, baby, you were made for loving me" and she responds in the same melody "The only way for you to love me baby, is to pay a lovely fee"
Kiss are always masked, just a natural style.
*"I Was Made For Lovin' You" was KISS' first songwriting collaboration with Desmond Child, who co-wrote many songs for / worked with various artists...like Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Scorpions, The Rasmus, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Cher, Roxette, Meat Loaf, Ricky Martin, Bonnie Tyler, Dream Theater,......* 👈🏼💿🎵🎸🎹🥁🎸🎵
T'écoutes cette chanson deux trois fois, tu t'en souviens vingt trente ans plus tard ! Même les ignares en langue anglaise comprennent les paroles ! C'est vraiment un titre accrocheur. 🇫🇷💛
ROSALIEEEE. You need to check out...

Kissco!! Kiss doing disco...
If I could only pick one song to introduce someone to Kiss it would be 'Rock and Roll All Night' I definitely recommend checking out the music video if you haven't yet. Nice reaction videos!
"I Was Made For Loving You"... although it was released in 1979... managed to get a second dose of airplay in 1981, by being on the soundtrack of the Brooke Shields 1981 movie, "Endless Love".
Detroit Rock city live in the 70 s or 1980 Australia ---God gave rock n roll to you --- Black Diamond
BLACK DIAMOND KISS
See: I still love you MTV Unplugged
My start as a Metalhead was 1980 with 13 Years and that was KISS
Heavens on fire and lick it up is 2 songs that are great among many others. Offical music video😎. Love your reactions🤘😎
KISS Detroit Rock City Paul Lynde Halloween Special 1976 (Remastered)
Theyre a hard rock band, this isn't typical of their sound.
My childhood band
At there best time, they have 2 concert´ s every day in LasVegas
I saw them twice in concert. I hated disco, BUT hey, the girls loved it, and I loved girls. Still do. So I went where the girls were. 😂 I love Ace’s sweet little guitar solo in this song. 🔥
This Is A love Song
I firmly believe that KISS is acronym for Keep It Simple Stupid..I have heard that before though I am not sure it is true, but I believe it. KISS has always been amazing and damn their songs are catchy.
Muy buena reacción saludos desde muy lejos Chile 🇨🇱
This was my first favorite song from KISS and I think I was 10 or 11 at the time.
KISS was known for their makeup more than their music.
Of course every band has their fans but the paint eventually became more of a gimmick because nobody ever knew what they looked like.
Even on interviews they would wear their trademark makeup, that is until 1983, when they decided to release their 11th album and feature the band on the cover without the paint for the first time in their history.
They are really an awesome band and I'm glad you've taken the step to explore their music. I would love to see you react to more.
The 70s and 80s got a bad rap for the music that evolved into those eras. "Devil music" was the accusation but believe me when I tell you it's much like when you questioned the stag head on fire at the Wacken Music Festival during Ghost Love Score. You said the bull is representative of evil or associated with satanism in many cultures?
Evil and Satanism was the last thing on their mind when they came up with the name KISS or any bands in the 70s and 80s for that matter.
The bands were great and the music was just as good. Simple, very forward lyrics, talented musicians, and the message was very easy to get. This is why I love the 80s and as corny as it sounds, many people used songs to express their love to their potential partner as 80s ballads were a good way to express your feelings back then because, let's face it, some of those lyrics sound like they came right out of a poetry book.
This one in particular os a bit strong as you mentioned, lol but you get my point.
I'm here for more KISS reactions!
See you soon. ❤️
From what I understand, KISS stands for "Keep It Simple Stupid!" Anyways, great reaction Rosalie!
Here's the quintessential KISS song list:
1. Rock and Roll All Night
2. Beth
3. Shout It Out Loud
4. God Of Thunder
5. Calling Dr. Love
6. Do You Love Me
7. King Of The Night Time World
8. Strutter
9. Duece
10. Black Diamond
I would love to see you reacting to “Beth” by KISS
Look at rock and roll Ll night, detriot rock city, and Beth is a must to see perhaps their best known ballad.
Ace!
