    Much better than I would expect from a keyboard that price range. It's very efficient to have an instrument like that if you're a really good musician and able to push it to its boundaries. Many people - me included - spend way too much money on their equipment, but never be satisfied with what they get or simply unable to make full use of it, which is sad. After having different arrangers and synthesizers and still thinking „I need another gear to be finally happy“, then something is basically wrong. I had the SX700 but already sold them - never owned an arranger for such short period of time. Don't ask me what's wrong with my life ;-D
    However, you're doing great. Thanks for the demo!

      Thank you so much for your insightful comment! Do not worry, you are with your dissatisfaction in the best company, I am exactly the same! I have been looking for the "ideal" keyboard for 30 years. But that's understandable: nothing has developed as rapidly as keyboard technology. The instruments are getting better and better and you want to be ahead. The SX600 is also sold with me, now I dream of GENOS as an arranger keyboard and save money already 😉. All is well among us keyboarders. It's good to have a dream...🙂🙂🙂

      Well if you aren't satisfied just forget to buy an arranger like this. They sound good but not as realistic and not as powerful as a DAW in a PC. That is because they are using old samples which are small. They are expensive too. So if you want something just as good as VSTs or make something sounds really good you'll need to spend about 2,200$ or 6,000$ for a 900 or a Genos.

    Great exploration of a very capable instrument. I have had a high end PSR in the past and was always impressed with build and sound quality. The 600 has some things I desire in an instrument but have your tried the PSR SX700, it has a more high end interface like the top of the line PSR's and Genos. For that reason alone I would prefer it to the 600 series due to my bad vision. Your playing here is so idiomatic and expressive, it makes me want a PSR again.

    • @Grubenpony12
      @Grubenpony12  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you very much! There you have some experience ahead of me, besides, your choice with the PSR700 was absolutely right - also regarding the connections. I idiot ordered the PSR600 in Corona times for 600 euros by mail and so I missed that it lacked something quite crucial: MIDI. A keyboard without MIDI simply doesn't work in the long run, especially if you want to use the beautiful keyboard. Apart from that, playing it was total fun, especially since I had no experience at all on these entertainer keyboards. By the time the synth has booted up, you've already done several laps with the PSR600 like a GoKart. .🙂🙂🙂

    • @Sam_Utah
      @Sam_Utah 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Grubenpony12 Well I do not have the PSR SX700 (yet) but it is appealing to me. I have no where to put it for now. I have had a PSR900 series in the past, an older version and it also had some odd design, I think the speakers were always on even when running through a mixer or out to powered speakers. A lack of Midi is a deal breaker despite the great quality of the sounds. I do tire of arrangers fairly fast even though they keep getting better and better and some performances are indistinguishable from a small (or large in some cases) band. Always considered "uncool" by synth enthusiasts but having had a high end one with full envelope controls they can be a great practice instrument and often, in the right hands, like yours, a true and immediate response to the creative impulse. Nothing kills creativity more than a computer (and DAW) glitch, a reboot or trying to find the right settings on the synths. Sometimes we just want to explore a creative idea and these PSR type of boards get the creative juices flowing fast and once in awhile they provide the "sweet spot" and the groove.

    • @Grubenpony12
      @Grubenpony12  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right! The entertainer keyboards are unjustly underestimated. At the latest with the YAMAHA GENOS you have a top keyboard with a rhythm section that

    • @Grubenpony12
      @Grubenpony12  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      is unbeatable in every respect. You can replace a whole band with one hand. At least for the moment, because when the human ear recognizes the automatic, it's over with the attention...

    • @Sam_Utah
      @Sam_Utah 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Grubenpony12 Yes, you have identified the essential issue with arranger keyboards is the "tell" that it is auto-accompany generation with lack of feel and human variations. The Genos and top end Korg PA can fool you for awhile though. I find guitar strums the most revealing in the automation, they have always lacked the human feel to some degree. I guess they are too error free....({-;) But the presets, even down to mid range Casio arrangers are quite competitive with ROM-based synths and a good player, like yourself, can have a fine listening experience like in your demonstration.

      Thank you very much! Almost all my videos are recorded very simply: I connect the headphone output to the line-in input of my Zoom camera. In this case, however, I had the SX-600 at home, so it's also possible that it initially ran through the Zoom R16 digital recorder - but that's not a big change in the sound for me, as the headphone output was always sufficient in all other cases.

    • @Grubenpony12
      @Grubenpony12  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much! The SX600 runs via line-out directly into the Zoom R16, which has some nice EQ presets. From there it goes directly into the camera via the headphone output. But even if you connect it to the headphone output of the SX, it sounds very punchy.
