Thank you for the video! I just bought a PSR-E473 and didn't really satisfy me. So I've been contemplating for the past few days between SX600 and SX700. Buy myself 3 weeks ago the Yamaha PSR-SX700. I had the PSR-E473. Man what a difference in a great way. Thank you all people from Epianos for the great videos you share at TH-cam. It made it all so easy for me to "understand" the 700. Great job and keep up the good work 😃 👌 👍
thanks indeed Chris, good to see someone takes time (43:43) and explains the whole machinery in a close to exhaustive manner, in a motivational speech, with due eloquence, great work.
The SX 600 has 116 buttons and switches--a little overwhelming until you get used it. But the keyboard has great voices and rhythms, is good value for money compared to the SX700 and SX900 and is a lot of fun to play once you master the controls. One fault is that Yamaha should have made the display screen larger. I solved that problem by using a clear plastic magnifying sheet (which I cut to size) to fit over the display screen. A magnifying sheet is available online for only a few dollars. Using it makes the display much appear larger for those of us with older eyes or poor vision.
This guy is the Ros Atkins of keyboard comparisons! - I'm happy to give it a 👍 because this is one incredibly detailed, extremely well presented, and really entertaining video to watch. Thank you for explaining everything is such depth. Beautiful playing too!

Great comparison!! Thank you for this video.. I was confused which one to go for.. now i am clearly convinced to go for sx700 after going thru this video.❤
I have an old Yamaha PSR S700 keyboard (which came out in 2008) & didn't think they could improve it but I was wrong esspecially the backing tracks. That song clip at 30:34 sounded like radio gaga by queen.
I tried all 3 models, the PSR--SX600 / SX700 and PSR-SX900. The keyboard rebound of the PSR-SX600 has a cheaper feel compared to the 2 higher models, it is noisy when it returns to its original position. The pressure required to depress the keys has to be heavier, while the SX700 and SX900 feature a softer feel and rebound. I liked the PSR-SX900 the most based on the nice feel of the button selection and key. One must decide what features and functions you think that you might want. The backing and accompaniments styles are cool for all models in this series. The price also varies according to the features. It is still nice to watch someone demo on the keyboards.
Thanks for that, takashi69x. I certainly found that I could play piano with more subtlety on the SX700 compared to the SX600. You may have noticed me being a little clumsey on the SX600 keys around the 08:05 mark. Having more dynamic range in the main piano sample really helps with how you attack the notes too, I found. All the best, Chris.
Thanks so much! I’m really glad the comparison was helpful for you! 😊 Moving up from the older PSR series is definitely an exciting step - the newer models bring such a leap in sound quality and features. There’s a lot to explore, and I think you’ll really notice the difference. Best of luck with choosing your next keyboard, and feel free to reach out if you have any more questions. Happy playing! 🎹
Thanks for that Chris. happened on this by chance. have an old tired Tyros 1 @ mo & was considering a SX600 when this eventually dies. But am now thinking of the SX700. Thank you again,
Hey! Thank you for your fantastic video. 29:43 - Stevie Wonder and Jeff Beck - Superstition. 30:35 - Queen - Radio Ga Ga. 32:12 Paskal Tippel - Mas Que Nada. Am I right? 😉😊
Well, you were the right guy for the job. Very well explained and demonstrated. I also like the "weight of a newborn baby" and pictures of the cat !!! Yeah, the sound is everything...
Awesome comparison on the Yamaha psr 600 vs psr 700.. really appreciate how you go to the differences that other reviewers dont take the time to do so. Love the PSR 700 it is of course around $600 more that the PSR 600.. but the added technology given on the 700 is much more robust and I think will fit my application. Thank you so much for the Brilliant Review!
Going with the 700 also gives you advantages when it comes to the free Yamaha expansion packs. For example the 700 will be able to download all of the voices offered in a particular expansion pack where the 600 may only only be able to download 60-70% of the expansion pack voices based on how advanced some of the voices in the expansion pack are.
Thank you for the very useful explanation. I didn't know much about keyboards before and am looking for something for my son who is taking keyboard lessons. The explanations were also understandable for me and helped me to make a decision.
Thanks so much for your kind comment! I’m really glad the explanation was helpful for you, especially since you're new to keyboards. It’s awesome that your son is taking lessons, and I hope he enjoys playing! If you ever have more questions or need further advice, feel free to reach out. 😊
Very well presented comparison. Your passion for music and exploring the possibilities of being creative shows in your expressions and voice. Not only that your camera error cat is hilarious!. Just too bad the cat wasn't helping you play some of the notes!! Almost worth a trip over the pond to go to your store.
Thanks, Ralph. I have a lot of fun making these videos. I only wish I had time to make more of them! Sadly, since we've upgraded our equipment, Camera Error Cat hasn't been seen much. Chris
Thanks for explaining! Very use full for me! I've a Tyros 5 XXL, but I 'm looking for a keyboard with 61 Keys. To play outside my home. Yamaha SX 700 is just a mini Tyros 5!
Hi , my name is Mehrzad and I am very pleased of your brilliant explanation and enumeration the advantage of the SX 700 over the SX 600. I must first thank you for your accurate and helpful comparison; But many of your audiences might like to know about the ability of these two keyboards to create oriental songs and musics; In fact, many people like me may wanted to know about the capability of these two keyboards to create Arabic, Iranian and Turkish musics; And my question here is whether both keyboards are capable of playing the musics that I have mentioned; Also my second question is about to give to these two keyboards the sounds of oriental instruments as samples, is it possible? All the best 👍
The SX700 sounds like a Tyros4 to me which is super Superior. I currently have a psr s770 and thinking about Replacing it with the sx700. I enjoyed the video I love the Choir sounds in the 700. Love It.😉
Thank you for this well presented and super clear analysis on the special unique features of both the Yamaha PSR SX600 and the Yamaha PSR SX700! I have found this video and your previous videos extremely helpful and are exceptionally well done with such a great comparative analysis on both the pros and cons of each of these two readily accessible and very valuable keyboards. 💚💚💚💚💚
EXCELLENT REVIEW As a PSR 970 owner, I am looking at replacing it and the 700 seems ideal. I don't need Vocal harmony, I use a great Digitech box, and so the 700 is preferable (to me anyway) for my needs than the 900..
Thank you so much, Leigh. That's a really nice comment! I really put a lot of effort into making this video as clear and comprehensive as I could. I'm really pleased that so many people have taken time to say they enjoyed it. - Chris
Excellent performance and each instrument is unique excellent. The only gripes of the 600, the screen could have been an inch or so larger AND AND the 600 could have featured a search feature. The tunes Radio Gaga, Buddy Holly and I suspect there may be some U2 mixed. Oh Sledge Hammer.
I enjoyed the comparison very much it was really informative ….as a Genos owner I agreed with many of your comments about the os on the machines. I could never go back to my old Tyros
Very impressed thank you, so explanatory, I am an x guitarist plus bass pedals, arthritic fingers forced me on to Ketron where o never made progress until I got the SX700 one tear ago, well I'm back playing guitar, what a keyboard, however I have yet to master the tecknecal side yet which you have made so explanatory, thank you.
Thank you very much...I have a Yamaha psr670....looks like the sx700 is quite similar...you've helped me decide I really. Need to upgrade...thanks so much!
Absolutely! The touchscreen OS on the Yamaha SX700 really does bring it into the modern era, making it much easier to navigate and utilise all its features compared to models without a touchscreen. It's great to hear that the video showcased this feature well and helped in your decision-making process. Also, don't forget to check out our selection of used keyboards, where we often have quality used Yamaha PSR-SX700 and similar models. You can find them here: www.epianos.co.uk/used-keyboards/.
I've just bought an Sx 700, I've looked in the style library, and can't find the Royal pop that you use to play Radio GA GA with. has the keyboard has been redesigned. Mine is about 1 year old
If you're recording a song, then the multipad volumes will be on channel 5, 6, 7,8 and you'll be able to change these induvidually in the Mixer. Also in the Mixer, if you adjust the Keyboard Volume you can balance it against the overall volume level. Hope that helps!
Thanks. I appreciated very much this comparison. Very useful for my next purchase. Is there somewhere available a way to find the most matching piano accompaniement/arrangement dedicated to a popular song?
Thank you for your support, Bernard. I don't know of anywhere that has a concise list. I have been thinking about making one for our customers, but it'll take a while to do, I expect! I'll post it on our website blog when it's ready here: www.epianos.co.uk/blog/

What is the name and style number used on the PSR SX 700 at 30:35 of the video to play Queen Radio Ga ga please? I would like to buy this model of arranger keyboard. THANKS
Thanks so much for this nice video which is both helpful and entertaining. I have watched several demo videos with the amazing PSR-SX700 and still learned more on this demo. I feel I would have hundreds of hours of fun with the SX700, but if money were no object, I would buy the Yamaha Genos. Thanks again. Jerry in the USA.
Hi Mr. Chris, Good Job, 29:55 Royal Pop Style on SX700 ( Chris's fav! ) .......... I believe that I adore ( Radio Ga Ga by Queen ) ......... :O) Thanks you so much in advance & Kindest Regards, Ahmed Sultan Cairo, Egypt
Definitely, improvement in capabilities, sampling of sounds, etc. contribute to the enjoyment by listeners and performers alike. Not only is your comparison very well made for those deciding a purchase, but it also can inspire beginners to be interested in a new pastime.
Excelente explicación de ambas máquinas, se nota la diferencia.. gracias por el tiempo que te tomas para mostrar los detalles de los teclados.. bendiciones brother
Great demo I ‘m residing in Japan but Yamaha don’t sale the psr sx700 also the psr SX 900 and the genus too, only the psr SX 600 I called Yamaha and complained about it as Yamaha is a Japanese company some stores on line sale the sx700 for ¥400,000 ridiculous around 2700€. Could be possible to order from your store also the voltage inJapan is 110V how much it will cost in pound with transportation Thank you again . 38:31
I like to buy the light weight SX600 to carry around when practice with my singers. However, I concern about the keys quality and feeling. Can anyone tell me how it;s worse compare to the 700 and 900 keys?
What a great comparison. Thanks for that. But is it me or is the SX-700 performed with somewhat more reverberation? For instance with the alto saxophone?
I loved the unison and accent function wow that's impressive, I don't think the no touch screen would have bothered me as much and I'm way younger than you 🤣. But the sound for the strings and choirs and only two voices at once? That was the breaking point for me. The SX-600 did it's job tho.
How many different instruments can be played (keyboard, accompany, other intern source) at the same time. So I do not mean the 256 polyphony. The midi channel showed 16 tracks (individual instruments). Is it there by 16?
It depends where this new arranger comes in your set up. Having myself a piano, a synth MODX by Yamaha and using intensively Ableton Live all connected to an Audient interface at home, the styles and arrangements from SX600 are largely sufficient to replace my old ( and fabulous) PSR 730
Could you give us,more details, about organ sounds ???Can sx 600 ,reaches the 700 sx,in organ sounds???Organ sounds, is my favourite point and most difficult subject to solve
Yamaha psr sx 700 and sx 600 one in my list. Also p121b is also thinking to buy. I feel.like sx700 is good..I am beginner and I want it forever to fulfill my joy of playing and learning music playing piano.
That's great to hear! These arranger keyboards are a superb choice for a beginner, they'll definitlely bring joy to your playing. You can find more videos on the 👉 SX600 and SX700 here: www.epianos.co.uk/tv/ .. Enjoy 🙂
When i try to make a continual play multi-pad on my T5, i cannot get the timing right and i get a pause after the end of the 1st round before the 2nd starts. Any advise please? Many thanks
I already have the SX900 and wanted another keyboard to play with two at the same time. I opted for the SX600, the combination was very good, but it lacked a larger screen and MIDI inputs and outputs. Maybe I'll swap the SX600 for the SX700.
Hi, thanks for the video. I can have an idea on the Yamaha Psr 900, Psr 700, Psr 600 Synthesizer Price and the serious seller who can make an expedition to Africa. THANKS
Good review. Is it enough of a difference to pick this over sx700 because of this having the unison and accent functions for a more controllable live action for gigs? My main focus is to have more control when playing along with the styles. What do you think? Regards.

I tried all 3 models, the PSR--SX600 / SX700 and PSR-SX900. The keyboard rebound of the PSR-SX600 has a cheaper feel compared to the 2 higher models, it is noisy when it returns to its original position. What is the name and style number used on the PSR SX 700 at 30:35 of the video to play Queen Radio Ga ga please? I would like to buy this model of arranger keyboard. THANKS
Will be watching today
Thanks for joining us in the Premiere, Neil. Much appreciated!
BEST COMPARISONS I EVER SEEN.VERY GOOD EXPALNASIONS
Thank you!
Excellent review,thank you.
Hi Mr. Chris,
Good Job,
29:55 Royal Pop Style on SX700 ( Chris's fav! ) .......... I believe that I adore ( Radio Ga Ga by Queen ) ......... :O)

You're correct, Ahmed! Thanks for joining the Premiere.
Super video. WHAT are the differences between the KEYS ?
Definitely, improvement in capabilities, sampling of sounds, etc. contribute to the enjoyment by listeners and performers alike. Not only is your comparison very well made for those deciding a purchase, but it also can inspire beginners to be interested in a new pastime.
Thanks for your support, Sergio.
Excelente explicación de ambas máquinas, se nota la diferencia.. gracias por el tiempo que te tomas para mostrar los detalles de los teclados.. bendiciones brother
23:08 literally gave goosebumps 💯🥺
Fantastic Review🎉
Keep going!!!!!
Excellent enjoyable watch many thanks 😎
Glad you enjoyed it, Richard. Thanks for supporting us by watching the Premiere.
Extremely good demo.
Thank you for your support, Christer!
I like to buy the light weight SX600 to carry around when practice with my singers. However, I concern about the keys quality and feeling. Can anyone tell me how it;s worse compare to the 700 and 900 keys?
Excellent video. Could you highlight for us the difference between the PSR SX 700 and the new PSR SX 720?
what about korg to yamaha arranger comparison ?
Excellent video with practical advice. Thank you very much. Miro from Brussels 🙂
Hello Chris and all.
excellent review!!!
Thank you kindly!
Very straight forward and clear. Cheers!
Thank you sir. How much is Psr sx700? I love it
How many different instruments can be played (keyboard, accompany, other intern source) at the same time. So I do not mean the 256 polyphony. The midi channel showed 16 tracks (individual instruments). Is it there by 16?
Thank you so much ..greetings from Dubai
I have seen few PSR SX videos but I loved your comparison with sound qualities on these Yamaha babies,💓from 🇨🇦
It depends where this new arranger comes in your set up. Having myself a piano, a synth MODX by Yamaha and using intensively Ableton Live all connected to an Audient interface at home, the styles and arrangements from SX600 are largely sufficient to replace my old ( and fabulous) PSR 730
Could you please compare SX700 and SX900 similarly ?
Enjoy 🙂
@ePianoscouk I checked on the link. Its very helpful. Now I am more confident. Thank you so much 🙏 🎹
When i try to make a continual play multi-pad on my T5, i cannot get the timing right and i get a pause after the end of the 1st round before the 2nd starts. Any advise please? Many thanks
Très bonne comparaison. Merci pour cette bonne vidéo
I already have the SX900 and wanted another keyboard to play with two at the same time. I opted for the SX600, the combination was very good, but it lacked a larger screen and MIDI inputs and outputs. Maybe I'll swap the SX600 for the SX700.
Thanks u v much for this comprehensive analysis. Does the SX600 audio link for multi pads?
Hi, me from India, planning to buy psr sx 900, will you please make a video between sx700 and sx 900
Regards.
600 is excellent but the only gripe the screen could have been an inch or two bigger but manageable.
