It will but first a period of time has to pass so that they can investigate to see how many drivers were affected. Some might not even be aware they had money stolen from their accounts. The money will be divided between the claims and everyone will get a portion of what was stolen. Sometimes this takes years.

Too little money for "each claim" to make it worthwhile. First money goes to the Court second money to the assigned lawyers on the case. That's the way it works. Been there. Unless, you personally hire a lawyer and have a lot you can claim coming to you. Lawyer fee is typically , A minimum, which you pay upfront, and then about 30% to 40% of recovery. Great book out there on how a real life lawyer went broke pursing a case against a big company, for 3 gears.

Plea deals don't mean the guy goes free. Having a trial where you have potentially 700+ victims to testify takes time, time that could go into handling all of the other cases needed in court too. Typically all prosecutions charge the defendant with as many crimes as possible to force the defendant to wave their right to an expensive and time consuming trial and plead guilty to most of the charges, or reduced versions of those charges instead. The defendant ends up serving 60 to 80% of what the full charges might have got them while the prosecution gets the criminal behind bars faster and can now move on to the next case. Plea deals are always part of the system.

not really, this makes it even worse for the trial because now it has to be dismissed and this has to be invesatagated
the money will still be in the hands of the police, this isn't justice because whoever killed him has set this case WAY BACK, to the point where victims will have to wait even more years to get some kind of compsention.

Wrong people to scam with if you snitch cause they will take your life. I dont think the original comment is justifying scamming. I think he just saying. If you’re gonna do it. Mostly because the delivery platforms don’t do deep investigations to provide info to the police. This happens on Uber too. They don’t require actual information from the customers. Customers can see our face, license plate, legal first name but they don’t even have to provide a real name. I’ve picked up orders for “Big G”, “Nestle Crunch” etc. So when you allow people to order not knowing who they are, they pay for their food w Visa giftcard & then they cashout your paycheck to a Green Dot or prepaid card they have no way to find them to even report to police. The lack of security measures for drivers is terrible. The apps just throw their hands up & say sorry - they rarely do anything about it. This has gone on for years on multiple platforms.
