New York Police Arrest DoorDash Driver Who Allegedly Tried to Flee On Her Moped

- The Yonkers Police Department in New York released bodycam footage of officers arresting a DoorDash driver after she allegedly tried to flee on her moped during questioning about an alleged reckless driving incident on July 12. A short video taken by a bystander created outrage after it surfaced on social media. Police say the bystander's video didn't tell the whole story. When the woman got on her moped, officers apprehended her and one officer threw her to the ground while she claimed she wasn't resisting. The woman was charged with reckless driving, obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest, along with multiple citations.

According to law 49 cc scooters do not require a license plate or a license to ride.

Your vehicle is required to be registered and have a license plate. "I'm working for Uber Eats!" doesn't supersede that obligation. And when an officer asks you to produce your driver's license, you don't just push the bike and try to run away. I mean, Jesus. How did we get to this point at which everyone expects they are above the law and an exception needs to be made of them?

It’s not that hard, when a cop ask you a question, simply follow the instructions.
Exactly why body cams are necessary! Every interaction between officers of the law and civilians should be recorded. They done their job nothing shown was wrong on their side and they even displayed patience with those interfering.
