    I just ordered one and should be here tomorrow and really hope it lives up to what people are saying .I live in an urban area a good bit from a road . The way things are going at this time you never know who or what might be around your home , especially at night . I hope this will give my wife a little peace of mind knowing that she will be given a heads up if someone or something is coming towards our home . I bought the 1/4 mile unit and will definitely expand the amount of sensors if the unit is good and does what it says .

    The one thing that I’ve learned about screws in plastic, is when you’re putting them back in, slowly turn them counterclockwise until they “click”. Then you can screw them in. Doing that, aligns the lands of the screw to the previous threads originally cut in by the screw and prevent cross threading.

    Good idea to have the undisclosed location monitored as well, for nosy people who might snoop around Deep South. I would be hard pressed to remember which tone was which location if I had to keep track of 15 of them though, lol. Amazing things they invent with all this new technology. I just have a German Shepherd, but he has radar ears, lol, so my first alert works pretty dang good. I'm wondering how the batteries are going to perform when it gets cold, won't the cold sap their energy?

    • @DeepSouthHomestead

      I mentioned in the video to use Lithium batteries if it gets real cold.

    • @Guardline
      @Guardline 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As long as you use lithium batteries you won't have any issue with the cold weather. Those low temps only affect your standard, alkaline batteries.

      That was very education. Thank you. Let's me know more about my Video Camera too! Although it did have a warning about not as much power output, but still functions very well. It did say it would not hold or take as many "still" pictures.. But that was really great information to any of us with any winter performance doubts.

    Those look like they could be set inside a small bird house. Make them a little bit more hidden from casual view. They could just peek out the entrance hole. Or even some yard decoration such as a wishing well up near the roof where a handle might be, just a tad higher. Only the sensor itself would have to "see" out.

    Nice addition. I once used just an old radio shack intercom system out at the end of a gated drive, near the mailbox. You could constantly hear everything out there going on. They could only hear, you speak to them, if you pressed a button for them to do so. I remember it costing about $10. to $20. way back in 1982.
    It was 22 C. Smith River Rd, Drain, Oregon. 16 miles to the nearest payphone. 27 Acres, 2 story, 3 bdrm, 2 seat outhouse, block ice refrigerator, a wood cook stove, a wood heat stove. No Electricity. $200. a month rent.
    Hot water heater was a 50 gallon barrel over a fire pit, gravity fed into the kitchen. Water was off some stream, with pvc pipe line above ground. We would have to go find where it popped apart early in the morning in the winter if it froze overnight.
    Funny that it read: "Must own truck & chainsaw" or they wouldn't rent it to you. We had been looking for a decent house rental for 2 months, couldn't find anything.. We went to look at this more for the drive, expecting no more than a shack in the middle of a field. From the road it looked like a doctor's home it was so nice looking. When you pulled all the way up the long drive & around to the other side, you could see dumpster wood, old signs, etc. It was still being cedar shaked over on that hidden side view. It had a beautiful split log staircase inside though.

    I just ordered one of these from Amazon. I have been using the cheap driveway alarms. Even though I tape them up sooner or later water gets in them and ruins it. Even though this cost a lot more I'll probably save money in the long run. Does it pick up motion at night pretty good? I want to use it to tell when raccoons and groundhogs come in the yard. Can you lock the swivel once you get it in the position you want?

    That's a great idea for Safety & Security, especially now Winter's fast approaching, for some reason it's always scarier for people to pop up in the dark than in the daylight. I think your studio's looking great but it's still a little 'echo-ey' Danny, you could try putting a couple of rugs on the floor in there to help absorb the sound, where now it's all hard surfaces bouncing soundwaves around. I'm almost certain that this is the Security System that Jeremy installed on Guildbrook Farm because you can hook so many extra sensors into each 'Zone' of the monitor.
