    Amazing video! Just would like to add few observations I had while working with this sensor:
    1. Yes, they work even when placed behind a plastic surface and even through thin concrete walls. Metal is the only enemy of the microwave sensor
    2. The current consumption in idle state is higher for microwave sensor (approx. few milliAmps) when compared to PIR sensor (in range of few microAmps) so in case used in a battery powered product, PIR would take the front seat.
    Apart from that it is definitely a pretty cool sensor and you seem to have covered all the essentials already!

    No microwave sensors do not work on SONAR, it works on Doppler effect which is totally different concept from Sonar which you mentioned. Sonar works on time of flight where as Doppler effect is change in frequencies which is used in radar. This sensor is not new, it's been in the market for couple of years now. Microwave sensors have their own disadvantages compared to PIR sensors so you need to explore a bit more and also mention them in your videos.

    We were planning to build a security device using Motion sensor but confused about the using of PIR or Microwave ( For there performance).
    This video will surely help us to decide which sensor to use in our product.
    Thank you..

    Yes I have used both of them but some applications require line of sight motion detection where microwave sensor would be prone to unwanted triggers, as have installed IR motion sensor in my bathroom for light and exhaust fan.

    Start your fan, microwave motion sensor will detect it as a motion

    • @techiesms
      @techiesms  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well, as per my installation, yes it will trigger when the fan is on. But first thing, we rarely turn on the fan in the studio.
      secondly, if you need to turn the fan on, well you need to change the location of the sensor installation and also change the sensitivity a bit

    Just like even if sensor in active state but if we don't need any use of applience , we just turn it off by using Manual switch or from cadio mobile rather it will be in on state.
    Is it possible

  • @shamnadj8011

    The problems is PIR sensor will be detect the presence of human with out any movement.
    But microwave sensor will be off there is no movement.
    Etc.. we are provided air condition with this, sleeping time AC will be turn off because there is no movement. The sensor useful for crowded area.
