Well, who's got far too much free time on their hands? I loved the whole thing - the lights, the co-ordination, the co-operation between households, the arrangement of the music and, I suspect, the tolerance of wives. Congratulations.
I've seen a lot of these types of displays over the years, and I have never grinned as wide as I did while watching this!! This is the happiest light show ever!! Well done to the two families for showing that co-operation can bring joy to thousands!! 💝💖
I think the lights are controlled by a computer program which uses a MIDI file as input. The MIDI file would have the guitar and banjo parts on separate tracks, allowing each house to play its corresponding part. But I agree, unless there was some video editing done, the only way to synchronize the displays would be to somehow share a timing signal between the two houses' computers.
@Milipono it must really be boring, not having the time or money to do things you enjoy doing. Speaking of people who waste time and money. How about people who spend time, looking for videos of things they don't enjoy watching, just to make a negative comment? Or what about the wasted money, spent on the device your using, and the internet needed to leave the comment? At least they can make money from donations, or by posting online. You're just making pathetic comments.
Yes, this was a really cool and creative song, but no, this was strictly a customized Christmas version of "Dueling Banjos", aka the song from the movie "Deliverance" which has three major chords; G, C, and D. "Jingle Bells", the other song in the mashup also has three major chords, which allowed it to fit quite nicely with "Dueling Banjos". On the other hand, "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" has a distinct E minor as the second chord in the song, which was not present here. However, both songs were originally performed by Lester Flat and Earl Scruggs and therefore have inevitable similarities in style. @@SagebrushRambles ...They don't have to be right next to each other to be happy and close friends and neighbors. And it's a split screen BECAUSE they're not next to each other.
My dad is an Electronics and Computers Engineer, and spent the majority of his career (retired 2009) in automation (primarily PLCs for sawmills.) He did a MUCH simpler automated display about 20 years ago, and it took an enormous amount of (retired) tech to make it happen. Looking at automation like this, even HE is stunned, because it's clear the level of work being done by today's hobbyists is mind-blowing. The thing he usually says is "Do you have ANY idea how many outputs it takes for all those individual parts???" Not to mention the strings of lights we have today that are THEMSELVES programmable - like the white light tree in this display. I can't wait to see what's coming. It's going to be amazing!
I was watching Steve Martin on the Smothers Brothers show last night (with dark hair!!!). Today TH-cam brings me this. Coincidence? I think not! Thanks for the great light show, folks! A lot of fun!
Lordy goodness gracious, that was some snappy picking and Christmas lighting! At the end I was clapping my hands as if you could see me. Superior sync skills, beautiful decorations, and it all warmed my heart. I'm putting this on Facebook for all my friends to see.

no free time setting this up...🤣🤣🤣
Woooooohooooooo! Awesome 👏👏
Nice to see neighbors working together instead of competing with each other! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Yes it sure is. This was sooo fantastic, brilliant, awesome 👏
I love it when houses get together for jam sessions!
Nothing says you are from the south more than a light show like this. Well done. 10/10 for originality.
What does that have to do with the South? I'm in Iowa and there are tons of people who go just as crazy with the Christmas displays.
@@brians48now It isn't the lights. It is the music 🙂
Even in the darkest times. That put a smile on my face.
Thank you.

Now that's what I call loving thy neighbor!!!
GOD bless everyone on this cul 'd sac & all who came by to see & hear the display.
For lack of a better word...
BRILLIANT!!
My late dad loved Christmas and the Dueling Banjos tune. He would have absolutely loved this. Great job!
Nice mashup. Getting the lights to sync for two different houses must have taken a lot of work.

I do wonder if this was real-world time synced (not terribly difficult thanks to readily available public time servers) or just time corrected in post
Insane waste of time and money

@@NeamerjellThey could have used something like Lightorama. I'm more impressed the owners were able to collaborate to this level.
That was the happiest Christmas light show I have ever seen. I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciate you sharing.
Love how it is “Dueling Jingle Bells”! Man the light show looks amazing!
It was an involuntary smile!, it came right out! I love what was done.
"Foggy Mountain Breakdown" with melded Christmas songs! Loved it!

Wow!!!! This was so great. Awesome job y'all
Delightfully bonkers! 🤪 Thanks for the smiles, and Wholly Happy Days to all!
I am sure these are two very happy and close families. I hope the rest of the neighborhood is as cheerful.
It's a split screen and the houses are not next to each other.

Ok....that was just completely awesome! And the little trees were in sink with the music! WITH EACH STRING PLAYED! I have never seen that before!

OOOHH. WOW!!!!😮❤❤❤❤
Well done!! BRAVO!! This was super fun to watch!
The Christmas lights were neat, but seamless meshing together the two tunes was astronomical!
I love this light show and the banjos! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful dueling banjo Christmas video. It made me happy. ❤😊
It's so great you have wonderful neighbors...or is it great they have YOU as wonderful neighbors? Win win!! Love it!!💖

At first glance I thought these two homes were on the same cul de sac but then I noticed the split screen. Nicely done!
Frickin Amazing!
So much effort into this.

I love that the banjo house has the craziest light show on the trees beside the house. Fitting!
