Few actors ever get to fill a role so perfectly while adding more character to it. She is an awesome actor and I look forward to seeing just how great she is destined to become.
She did an amazing job with this and kept true to the character, who is pretty much devoid of showing and expressing emotions. While she verbally will express annoyance, she doesn't really do emotions or body language that shows it. Usually dancing is expressing emotions, but she doesn't. Her eye contact and lack of affect makes it seem more like she is hunting prey with a death dance, rather than expression of human emotions. Awesome job.
My ex GF was like this - she would dance like an absolute freak in the middle of a club and at the end of the night everyone would be cheering and the DJ calling her out... Sadly she was a raging narcissist.
@@MrMike-jx3gw The famous dancer Isadora Duncan gained her fame departing from classical ballet, and exploring free-form dance. She also taught the new style at her school. Ortega is in good company, and she's really started something, or rather, reawakened it.
Just as fascinating to me is that Goth fashion has hardly changed since I first saw it in the early 1980s other than better makeup application techniques, and it still can look so good.
I tried to watch this the other day, didn't make it to 30 second's, thought it was crap. I just had a joint, this is my 5th time in succession. Miss Ortega is stunning.
Such an iconic dance will go down In history for eternity and looked perfect for this class old song, Jenna was amazing and looked so gorgeous In that dress
OMG! thank you for this. One of my favorite scenes set to one of my all time favorite songs... just pure gold right here. Don't even know how this found its way into my feed but I feel complete right now. At least until the next video ;)
There was an accident that killed a teen or teens at a dance. I think one of the first mosh pits? Some newspapers wrote articles calling for such dances to be banned as too dangerous. This band did this song as a sort of reply and comment on the situation.
From Wikipedia: "The writer/lead singer Ivan Doroschuk has explained that "The Safety Dance" is a protest against bouncers prohibiting dancers from pogoing to 1980s new wave music in clubs when disco was declining and new wave was coming in. Unlike disco dancing, which is done with partners, new wave dancing is done individually and involves holding the torso rigid while thrashing about; pogoing involves jumping up and down (the more deliberately violent evolution of pogoing is "slamdancing"). Clubgoers doing the newer pogo dance were perceived as posing a danger to disco dancers on the dance floor, and so club bouncers would tell pogoers to stop or be kicked out of the club. Thus, the song is a protest and a call for freedom of expression."
The lead singer of men without hats was kicked out of clubs specifically the b52s and blondie for pogoing (which has later turned into like punk dancing and other stuff) he was pissed and wrote the song and it became a massive hit... I guess he got the last laugh, pogoing was considered to be intrusive and bothering the ppl still doing disco style dancing, so 'safety' dance is referring to following "club rules" or being somewhere safe to not...
I find it implausible that at an academy for weird kids called Nevermore she is the ONLY one there wearing black. She is hot as hell and looks amazing, but still implausible.
Série de Dingue, musique géniale, je suis super fan. j'attends la suite avec impatience et de voir MERCREDI danser sur cette musique. 80 SOUND... comme quoi je ne suis pas aussi vieux que celà

Yes.
Apex predator+Thriller=Wednesday
this actress makes Wednesday Adams contemporary. she is perfect for the casting.
Yes, Jenna Ortega is great as Wednesday Addams.
Perfect to combine the music with the dance moves. And, of course, Jenna's moves were perfect.
In the series the combo was great. This video, the musi9c does NOT fit with then Dancing. (IMO)
I just love how far this has taken off.
Dancing like Nobody is watching, while EVERYBODY is watching.
Iconic.

I saw an ice skater doing the Wednesday dance as part of her routine.

Fascinating that a fourty years old song still works well as music for so many dance videos.
That’s because the 60s, 70s, and 80s were genius music decades.
That was Men Without Hats' masterpiece!
@@Odo-el2mh Pop Goes the World, On Tueday amoung my favorites.

Dancing is always in style, and fun~uplifting!! 🎶💃♥️
Dang, this was well done..
What a brilliant combination.
Her performance was amazing. Her face was blank, but her eyes were talking and her body was smiling. Helluva scene.
You may not notice, but she also does the Morticia dance and the Peanut dance during the sequence
A confident character performance. Loved it. ❤
Wednesday totally enchanted me 🖤
It's freaking me out but I can't stop watching.
Thank you for uploading - Jenna Ortega gives a classy Wednesday and her dancing fits nicely to this music.
no it doesn't this is not a safety dance. her dance is not a safe one.
Yes, her performance was confident and awesome.
What in the fresh hell is this and why do I want more of it ?!
I Think It's Got Something To Do With DOPAMINE & SEROTONIN ! ! ! ? ? ?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
❤😂
This awesome!
It's Wednesday and she is funking beautiful
💃 💃 🥰 💃💃
I wish I could see the whole production, without needing Netflix...I'd really love watching it all!
This wasn't the song in the original production. Yhis takes it from pg13 to g😊
Song ,Actress and choreography/cinematography, all top notch
*WOW* that works really well
Thank you
I tried to watch this the other day, didn't make it to 30 second's, thought it was crap. I just had a joint, this is my 5th time in succession. Miss Ortega is stunning.
Love it!
Thank you ☺
a little late to the party….THIS IS PERFECT…
Thanks
The world is So different that Wednesday Addams seems Normal and that's comforting.
Maybe Wednesday Addams is normal, and it's the rest of the world that's all screwed up. Ever consider that?
I have to say, The music and video fit perfectly together, never thought of putting an 80"s song to this dance. Great job.
Thanks for the comment
That double snap at the end . . . perfect.
Thank you so much David Birch! Your amazing creation saved my life, more than as you can imagine!
Lovely words to an amazing song -we can dance -
I wish that I had met someone like Wednesday when I was that age! ♥
Hmm. Be careful what you wish for. You may never have achieved your current age.
Jenna Ortega was born to play Wednesday. She's phenomenal...Period!!!
Such an iconic dance will go down In history for eternity and looked perfect for this class old song, Jenna was amazing and looked so gorgeous In that dress
"Eternity", really? It was good but it wasn`t that good lol
We can dance, everything’s out of control…love this so much!👌😘
GORGEOUS DRESS!
Never pass up an opportunity to listen to “ the safety dance”
every knows you nailed it
haha, it's much better than the actual music in the show XD
I'm loving it❤ wish it was long version
Thank you. Might need to look into that as a few people have said the same thing
To paraphrase an old saying about flying, 'You have to be a real good [dancer] to [dance] that badly.'
Well done.
I've been looking for this ever since I first saw this episode!
OMG! thank you for this. One of my favorite scenes set to one of my all time favorite songs... just pure gold right here. Don't even know how this found its way into my feed but I feel complete right now. At least until the next video ;)
You’re welcome
I AM STILL NONE THE WISER AS TO WHAT A 'SAFETY DANCE' IS ? ? ? LIFE IS A MYSTERY ! ! ! ? ? ?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
It's a dance that's safe. Hope that clears it up.😅

@@OGdirty1Kanobi Thanks. I don't suppose you know the concept of the songs music video? 😅.
Somehow she makes deadpan also look funny and hot, all at the same time. Her version of the Martian Lady walking was genius.
"genius"?
this is so crasy wierd i love it !!
great work
Wow, that worked out well combined!
Perfect!! Both as a Gen X Elder Goth. Perfect Edit and Cut!!!
I love this song Safety Dance Men without Hats
Definitely got some of her moves from Pulp Fiction lol.
wednesday ignites a fire on the dancefloor! ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥🔥🔥🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥

Brilliant chronologically fluid time travel! You Tube...not science fiction.
I learned the safety dance. Believe me it's pretty safe.🤠
Ok im gonna have to finally watch the movie based on this amazing dance.
You can check out the series on Netflix
Excellent!!
Well done, my good sir.
Why thank you
He is clearly outclassed lol
She's absolutely adorable...
Yes, she is. So cute!! 🥰
Me thinks, Lil Wednesday was hunting that poor fella on that dance floor. Me thinks, also he had not a clue what devilish intents she was up to.
The dancer in the original Safety Dance was Louise Court .. Editor at Cosmopolitan Magazine ...
Excellent combination of a song I really like with ascene from Wednesday Addams I liked! 🙂
Great video, but then again I'd watch Jenna fry bacon.
Mmm. Jenna wrapped with bacon.
I have never watched the show but I love this video
Thank you
Great song and she's very easy on the eyes.
Epic!
She pulled-off this dance to perfection!
pretty good. But this song is legend, it goes with everything...

Awesome!
Love the character. Like a scary Sheldon Cooper.
She's like a scary Sheldon Cooper. Love the character.
talk about a time warp how come this song fits this dance perfect , talk about a glitch in the matrix 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Hey this is good. This is real good.
Thanks for the comment
Not posessed at all. Totally normal to thrash like that. And the giant demon statue backdrop just tells me it's all ok.
😂❤. Everything is out of control 🎛️.
Jenna Ortega is a beautiful girl to look at...I'm wearing my monitor out, just watching this, repeatedly! Wow!
Flippin Awesome great work dude.
Thank you for the comment
Awesome editing!
She is the best Wednesday of all. Excellent portrayal
Holy crap, this is brilliant!

This is better than the official Safety Dance music video......

What an adorable woman! ❤❤
Super !
David Bowie just met his match😂
This seems to be closest interpretation to the lyrics that i have seen, however the inspiration for the song was slam dancing.
Awesomeness also quite lovely
I thought I saw a little bit of, hip roar, the signature move of Thriller.
GREAT!
Unfortunately this Cannot Hold a Candle to the "Adult Wednesday Adam's" videos!!! 🤠👍
This song is too happy for Wednesday!
Brilliant.
Thank you
Goth Rules!!!!
Goth girls so sexy
We can dance

Those musicians went to the same school as I did.
Brilliant!
Thank you

Weird and hot at the same time
