Ryuga and his people are in a completely different league every other prominent blader in this universe. There's a reason why he is nearly undefeated. He is the Dragon Emperor and he will make damn sure you know it.

In the OG beyblade the bey Black Dranzer was made by Grigori Resputian that was taken out of the dub though so beyblades being tied to historical figures has been a thing since the original so it's not surprising to see later entries doing it too
OG Beyblade was absolutely going as crazy as this. The final boss of the OG Beyblade series had a Beyblade made from the center of the universe that could create blackholes & the BLADER HIMSELF could REWRITE reality. They do crazy shit just so we can buy spinning tops.
CJ Dachamp is wrong. This is my take on the season 1 fight between Gingka and Ryuga, which I believe is correct. And now I will explain why I think so. Warning! The quoted lines of the characters are not exactly identical to the original, but they still have the same meaning. “Why didn't the season 1 fight between Gingka and Ryuga have plot armor. And the power of friendship had a reason for existence and an explanation” I believe that the final battle of season 1 between Gingka and Ryuga had no plot armor and the power of friendship has an explanation and a reason to exist. 1) In the 1st episode of the 1st season, it was explained what the power of the bey is. Gingka's approximate quote: "True power of bey has nothing to do with attack power or stamina, he attacks using the feeling of the blader that is connected to him, as if all the power of the cosmos has been poured into him. You must put your heart as big as a star sky". 2) In episode 10 of season 1, the true essence of Beyblade is revealed. There was a battle of views between the then Kyoya, who only wanted to become the strongest on his own and thought only of strength and victory by destroying all opponents, and who believed that friendship was a useless thing, and Gingka, who wanted to show a true bay battle. He explains to Kyoya: "The point of Beyblade is not to defeat the opponent, even though I said that, but I still tried to surpass you in strength. I only thought about winning, but thanks to them (friends), I realized that this is not the case. In Beyblade, the strong they don't stand alone! Fighting with someone like you, you become stronger and strengthen your bond with the bey. And as long as my friends don't lose, show me what you can do anger, tenacity and feelings of Leone (Leone misses old Kyoya)!...(after that Pegasus accelerates from the wind of Leo's hurricanes)...When I take on everything you direct at me - I will become stronger!...(skip)…If you combine stars to form a constellation, so do bonds between beys. Bay battles should not be about destroying your opponent, but about creating friendly bonds." And even though Kyoya still resists and talks about the uselessness of bonds and his constant struggle alone, Gingka says, "You were not alone...I will help you regain your lost blader's spirit!". After Pegasus' special move, Leone loses, and Kyoya remembers that he always had his Leone with him. From this episode, you can understand that a blader never fights alone. 3) In season 1 episode 14, Ryo/Ryu (Jinga's father) says: "...The outcome of the match is decided by the bader's spirit! The bader's spirit, not anything else!" From points 1 and 3, we can understand how the battle system works in the steel saga: Bey, who is connected to the owner, uses his feelings and fighting spirit as a source of power. 4) In episode 48 of season 1, Rio/Ryu (Gingka's father) told Pegasus and L-Drago's past. They were created from a fragment of 2 different meteorites. The foundation of L-Drago absorbed the negative feelings of people and turned it into a dark power. Ryo/Ryu (Gingka's father) said that the dark power can only be defeated by the light of hope, when the ancestors of the Koma villagers found out about L-Drago they used a fragment of another meteorite to create a bey, which became the basis for today's beys. This bey carried the light of people's hope and could defeat L-Drago. This bey was Storm Pegasus. In parallel with the story, we were shown a flashback in which it was shown that in the past Pegasus won, and L-Drago fell into a crystal and was hidden in the village of Koma. Ryo/Ryu told Gingka and his friends that in order to defeat L-Drago's dark power, they must combine their pure, Beyblade-loving spirits/blader's spirits/spirit powers. 5) In season 1 episode 50, there was a battle between a bey who stole the powers of other beys and turned them into a dark power and a bey who becomes stronger from the strength of blader's spirit and hopes given by people, turning it into a light of hope. Saddened by the fate of his friends, Gingka himself sets out to go to the final battle. Ryuga fights him in the stadium. At the start of the fight, it's only Gingka and Pegasus facing Ryuga, with Gingka trying to overpower Ryuga at first, with the latter blocking two of his special moves. Because of this, Ginga's confidence was weakened and it made the blader's spirit weaker, especially since Pegasus was not yet strengthened, unlike L-Drago. But when Gingka's friends came, they started to encourage him, this not only made his spirit stronger, but also gave Pegasus himself strength, because support is the same Hope given to Pegasus. and then Pegasus was able to fight off L-Dargo, because people united their blader's spirits, even Ryuga was surprised that Gingka was able to resist his dark move. Next, L-Drago begins to absorb Ryuga himself, because he could no longer control so much dark power. 6) 51 episodes of the 1st season. Now L-Drago uses all his power and dominates the opponent's bey. Ryo/Ryu notes that Gingka is missing something to win and hopes he can find the answer. Ryo/Ryu said that the 2 beys have diverged greatly in their ways throughout the story, L-Drago being the dark and Pegasus the light. After all, the darkness in L-Drago is the result of the actions of people who were deceived by the great power of the meteorite fragment. It follows that bad people made L-Drago evil. Next, L-Drago sent his dark move "Dragon Emperor Soaring Destination" against Pegasus, the attack moving towards Gingka. And here, what was missing now came to his aid - the blader's spirits of defeated comrades who had not been united before: Hikaru, Tsubasa and Kyoya. They made Gingka understand what he lacked with the phrase: "If you fight force against force, you will not win." They strengthen Pegasus and now Gingka's goal is not to defeat Ryuga, but to save him from the dark power, because he was deceived by the accumulated dark power. And that's why, now, Gingka can use absolutely all the power. The finale of this battle was the victory of Pegasus and Gingka and getting rid of the darkness of L-Drago. Conclusion: The battle "Gingka vs. Rayuga" did not have story armor, because it did not violate the established conditions of the battle system, the main idea and world building. Friendship in Beyblade has an explanation in the battle system and a reason for existence in the main idea, and it is also a norm and an important element of the essence of Beyblade itself, which should not be neglected.
