    Ya gotta love Uli Roth.
He was too deep an artist for the Scorpions in 1979. Jabs was a shredding, athletic, smiling guitarist. Young, virile, physical, lightning fast and prototypical for the genre. Uli Roth was a mysterious traveler. He created timeless melody while in a trance.
Fast, fluent, visionary and indifferent to fads.
The Scorpions chose the right guitar player in Mathias. Uli Roth chose his own path. He stayed true to his muse. He would have never been happy with the testosterone driven 80's Scorpions. He did what he had to do. He left the band. It's good to know that he still gets along with the Scorpions. Good friends all. A happy story. We could use a few more happy stories these days.

" get along with the Scorpions" The band with the absolute lowest amount of drama and bs ever! Michael, Uli Jon, Mathias, Rudolf and Klaus should inspire all musicians, and ppl with their harmonious story, Namaste all

@@TheWhippetmaster actually there's some Michael/Rudolph drama, I don't think they get along nowadays. But yea, beside it, they're pretty chill

A lot of folks don't really understand what's going on over here.. Uli is a 70s era guitarist. From the newer generations you would expect guitarists with equal, if not better techniques and virsatilaty, but from his time period, not a single electric guitarist can touch him! This puts uli on a completely different cosmological scale!

You can see it in their gestures and their eyes their behavior. And only in all his greatness is always understated and full of humility wow always knowing that he can go the extra mile that others cannot. Wonderful to see this kind of stuff caught on film. The guitar tone is so pure as well... all in all, he makes us think it's ..Easy, while it's so difficult. I had the big pleasure to interview him for this release...

I love neo classical metal, and classical music. Uli Jon Roth was the best classical - rock player there ever was until Malmsteen came around. But I'm pretty sure Uli inspired Malnateen, even though Malmsteen never said so. How could he not!, Uli did the classical - rock thing before and better then Ritchie Blackmore/ Jimmy Page!.......Malmsteen took it to another whole level decades later!

Blackmore was already using sweeps, the phrygian dominant scale, and playing with an orcherstra in 69, but i agree that Uli took it a step further. Yngwie's playing style is a mix between the two (Uli and Blackmore), but his on stage attitude (especially his early year) is definitely Blackmore. Also, Page never touch anything classical.
