Uli seems like such a lovely guy every interview he gives he is so talkative and friendly and super humble despite being one of the greatest guitarists of all time
Awesome! I've had the honor to meet the man many times and once got to drive him from his hotel to a gig in my Jeep. One of my spiritual heroes, actually. I took one of his all-day guitar courses before a gig that he was doing 7-8 years ago, and I don't even play guitar, I just wanted to hear the man talk. And it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The guy was talking about all sorts of interesting stuff way beyond guitar theory. Little did I think when we listened to Electric Sun in the early 80's in college that I'd ever meet the guy, much less get to hang out with him a bit. Major major cool human. (In addition to the greatest guitarist of all time.)
My first song was Dark Lady. Since then In Trance was and still is my absolute favorite album. The songs, the amazing production by Dieter Dierks, the awesome artwork. Simply unbelievably cool and timeless.
The questions asked really were wonderful. Much better than the average musician interview. I think these questions came from someone who truly loves music and loves thinking, reading about and studying musicians.
Love Uli's music and it is really cool learning more about him as a aeros via TH-cam. I'm glad he i willing to open up on these interviews an being able to learn about the thoughts behind the music. I saw another interview where he and Klaus The Sails of Charon and it is cool to know the thoughts behind the composition of that song as well as the literary influences behind the music.
I met you in Phoenix when you were touring with Jennifer Batten and Andy Timmons. I was really drunk that night. I feel so bad that I was in that state when I was talking to you after the show.
a very thoughtful and personable man! i will have to get to know his work.any suggestions? i am a fan of guitar players but sad to say i do not know Mr Roth! thanks
I am mostly familiar with his playing with Scorpions from Fly to the Rainbow, Virgin Killer, Intrance, Taken by Force and Tokyo Tapes albums. He is very good, probably my all time favorite guitar player. I recommend The Sails of Charon there is a video on TH-cam of Scorpions playing it for a TV show around 1978. I a, pretty sure it is dubbed but you can see and hear how great Ulrich Jon Roth is on the electric guitar.
I thought you asked some excellent questions. Outside of his legal troubles, which I think was part of his hiatus after BTAS I always wanted to ask him what was he doing in that period. He came back w.the Hendrix Tribute and then Symphonic Legends, etc. I think it added to his longevity but many of his fans were like....where is Uli and what is he up to?
did Monika give it to him or something? Never knew he had one of his guitars. At least it's someone who does it justice, unlike Kirk Hammett who has Peter Green's Les Paul now (ick)

Probably the best guitarist I've seen.

Was lucky enough to meet him twice....and he was one of the humblest most down to earth people I've ever met....and such a massive talent!
met him, he wasnt in the best mood but he was nice! I'm glad I got an autograph from my favorite guitarist!
Likely one of the nicest guys in the music industry.
"Pictured Life" was the very first song I ever heard by Scorpions. I've been a UJR student ever since. He's so generous.

Ten years ago I had a couple of beer with Uli....a really nice and friendly guy....

I actually learned something from this video. Uli talking about depression.
LOL. Love this guy!! Saw him here in Denver last year and it was amazing!!
Nicest person in this world... Uli
Yea, I dont think many professional musicians genuinely enjoy "meet and greets"!
He is german. I love them for this enthusiasm. Just like marco minemann
Good interview with meaningful questions.
+Bloodline616 thank you so much!
I don't think she's going to thank you for that comment

Salvatore Rigatti right

He stated he had the guitar in a safe a few years ago in a interview.
If anyone should have it it’s him it’s safe, good to know.
I want a tee shirt with his image. Caption at bottom ' Chill'.
ULI is god

+Aris YellowRaven Tuesday March 29 at the Mod Club in Toronto!
Great interview but the title is a little off base not that I want him to have depression but the title makes me assume he may have
