Tank is awesome. Stand is kind of annoying. Overflow is OK. Next time I will shop around some more. I want something not as deep. Perhaps not as tall. It is very difficult to work on. Sump has a ton of room once you remove the ATO container.
Yea, it's going between two rooms, one side is about 8" higher, do if I get the table out of the way, that's a good height to work on, but I'll need a stool for the main side. Going with the Tunze ATO and sapphire 10 gal reservoir. 🤞🏻
Fun fact: Sharks have urea in their blood to help them maintain osmotic pressure. They excrete excess urea through their skin since they have no urinary tract. Other fish remove excess salt through urine and salt glands.
This is an awesome fact! It seems like they do have kidneys and a small urinary track but most ends up going out their skin to maintain equilibrium. Pretty Cool!
What brand of auto-feeder did you use when you were away? I am going to be gone for 2 weeks and to be honest, I'm a little worried about being gone so long. I also have a bamboo cat shark I need to figure out how to feed while I am away. Any thoughts on that?
I am just 16 years old, I am really excited about fish. Don’t know too much, but when I grow up and have some knowledge about the fish. I do want to get some fish like you have.
Keep learning! You can do it. If you want to start in saltwater, start with a clownfish pair in a 20-40 gallon all in one tank. Innovative Marine makes some good ones.
White Box Thanks! It is a Blue hamlet. A great fish to get the grouper like looks in a small package. They may bother ornamental shrimp but otherwise are pretty reef friendly.
Hi there, I just bought the same ATO water tank you recommended because it’s the perfect size for me.. but then I realized, how do you fill it? Funnel or something? Seems like the one potential drawback. Thought of it right after I hit “purchase now” lol
Hey, I guess we mostly all use 25l containers to bring RO water into the house so I brought a 12v caravan water pump that fits in the normal hole of the 25l container and a 240v/12v converter and pump the RO water into my RO tank. Super easy! Just an idea :)
@@simonhedderwick4516 Thanks for the tip, I might rig something up like that to make the transfer easier. To date I've just been using a funnel, and it works... though can def be better :). Still love having a huge external ATO res.
Very nice tank! The white spots are probably from lowering the temperature in the tank. I know that ich can show itself due to temperature drops in freshwater aquariums, so the temperature drop may be the culprit. I'm new to reef tanking and I've never experienced ich yet (knock on wood) and this might not be ich but I do know that temperature fluctuations -- especially lower -- can cause things of this nature. Happy Reefing!
Beautiful tank. Not sure what the disease is, but do you have an account on Reef2Reef? If so you should ask there, I am sure someone will have an answer.
Anthias might have Fungus, since the temperate Fluctuate, drooping and raising the temp, add vitamarin M from brightwell it will go away with in a week(soak the frozen food, pellets or sea weed for a few min before you feed the fish )
nice corals. the support is ok but when u jump or walk heavy next to ur tank I bet the water vibrates. with time ur support beam will sage and ur land lord might not like it plus u risk messing up the apartment and ur ppl under u if it leaks or breaks. make sure ur tank is running across several beams and is against an out side wall not interior walls.
Hey mate beautiful tank how do you rate the tank kit looking to do my first salt reef tank. Looking to Actually use the same tank as yourself beaut tank mate
mine had that to unfortunately nobody helped me when i asked for help and she died shortly after, how nice people are right or should i say stupid anyway after some steady research and common sense it appeared to be wounds that slowly but surly worsened and became vibrio infections, i would qt her and treat her with a antibacterial agent, and be on the lookout for aggression, after 3 hours of steady observation i caught my midas blenny picking at her but unfortunately i was to late
You're tank doesnt look level, I would drain the water out to a couple brute cans, use the red sea leveling feet to raise up the front of the tank till level. Those red seas have been breaking panels and it could avoid disaster
But actually, mostly because it is easier to clean and grab uneaten chunks of food. Pretty helpful with the shark. And I can just run the pumps at full blast once in a while to suspend the detritus in the water until the filter socks take it all out. It does limit me from some cool fish that need sand like wrasses and shrimp gobies.
My brains love light and some flow. Try feeding more. They eat like no other. But other than that it looks good my man. Follow me on Instagram @ alohacoralreef Happy reefing !!
Beautiful tank and good information about how to leave your tank when on vacation! Thanks for the share!
That tank looks beautiful all the different types of fish in there, I wish to one day have a tank like that
Thanks! I hope you do too!
You can piggyback a second container with a smart micro ato to fill the first one from the second one. Doubles or more your volume for rodi.
Good Idea, but for now the 16 gallons is lasting me 2 weeks but I'll think of it if I need to go longer than that.
Love the shark!!! I'll be picking up one of those tanks when they're available! So, what do you think? Happy with it?

Awesome tank growth. What would you recommend for a good salt water tank to start. Size? Coral types?
40 gal with soft corals

Jason Joel Jacop Blue Hamlet

The blue fish grouper looks, where do you get it? That is awesome
Cheers

Nick R I picked up a super large oil funnel that works really well.
@@PuffDaddyReef works for me - love that it's only 9" wide. Been looking like a tank like this. Thanks for the rec!

what have you got on the bottom of the tank?
It is a piece of white ABS acrylic I had cut for me at an industrial plastic shop.
Tank looks amazing like always 👍🏽
Thanks!

The reason why corals are brighter is because they are not getting enough food and they concentrate more in survive then growth
Yikes! Ok, I moved them to a lower flow area where I can power feed them.

Ok. I'll pick up some vitamin M.
It almost looks like a some kind of fungus. Put him in quarantine. Hope u figure it out. Your reef tank by the way is beautiful
Didn't feed at the end?
ohhh nooo the RV ATO is not available anymore
Beautiful reef tank what is the name of the green fuzzy sticks on the backside. Towards the center of the aquarium
Those are called "Branching Green Star Polyp" No one is sure exactly what they are. I found them at a reef shop on the way to San Diego.

Lymphocystis possibly. Feed, likely no need to remove.

Caribbian Blue Hamlet!
I was going to ask exactly the same question - I’ve never seen one of those fish before and it’s super cool! Great tank appreciate your videos

Yes it is

That looks like Mycobacterium marinum on the sick fish.
O aquário está muito lindo! 😁
Gracias!
How come you have no substrate? Is it because it’s easier to maintain water changes or you have no fish that love hiding spots
