Man just found out your channel today and i'm hooked! The way you present the videos and make the narration with the trip trivia and tips is really outstanding in comparision with any other retro channel that i know of. I'm binge watching it all! It's a mature way of making videos: not yelling, not treating your public as kids, and the best... actually delivering good information. I wish travelling videos in general we're as good as yours, not even talking about the retro game stuff, damn! 🎉
I like the way you do these videos :) travel tips, then in every store you talk a lot about these games, you show the prices, give specifics (ie. missing manual). it's great to watch it! :)
Was at these stores yesterday after viewing them on your channel. :D Spent more time and money in them than I probably should of. Ended up with a Midnight Blue N64 and a couple Hori controllers. Only have a few more days left to wander around before I fly back to the states. Hoping to find more places like these.
I didnt even know there was a discord. Wandered around Akihabara today just for the heck of it, that and I wanted Pancho Spaghetti. Prices are absurd!@@4amLaundry
I will ALWAYS appreciate a video with some Eurobeat. Pity SEB CD albums are relatively hard to find :) Very informative video, thanks for highlighting these stores which I will be adding to my list of stores to visit in April.
@@4amLaundry Not surprised about that lol Just remembered its called "Star Successor" in the US. Its the same game, fyi. Make sure to check it! You will love it :D
So I have a question, with bikeshare being so prominant and you can carry your goods with a back pack or such. Would getting around by bike be feasable?
That would be a fun idea for Tokyo or other big cities but bikesharing isn't really that common outside of them. I have a good bike but to take it on a train you'd have to take it apart.
@@4amLaundry thanks for the reply. I’ve been looking into it a bit. Hello cycling seems to have a large reach. But you need a localised number. I assume that’s not an issue for you. I managed to arrange one. I’ll be over in 2 weeks.
Ps1, Wii and ps2 interest me more than the 16bit era. I grew up with the Famicom and super famicom, mega drive but as soon as the ps1 came around thete really was no looking back. Game wise its got to be that era of ps1,ps2 and wii that define gaming as we know today. For pure aesthetics on a shelf though its surely Famicom. The graphic design of that era looks great on shelf even though the game itself these days are quick snd disposable.
As far as the amount of hours I put into games, I gotta agree that the PS2 is my current most played console. I'm an RPG guy and since it so plays PS1 games it's such a good console. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug tho and the Super Famicom also has a great lineup of RPGs
Love the details in the video if you ever wanted to start a side business of picking up games and shipping them over to the USA let me know for how cheap some of these games are it is worth it just in the art work on the boxes
I have no interest in a reselling business as I want to focus 100% of my efforts on the videos. I'm figuring out how to get rid of some doubles though so stay tuned for that.
Is a great video information, many thanks. Im planning to visit Japan next june, and Im plananing a route for getting all retro consoles and game as I can. I have a question: Is possible to get in this 2 Hard-off the free tax discount for tourist or is jut in the stores on the center? Many thanks again!
You need a giant hiking rucksack for these shopping trips. Would make life easy. Love the Diablo 2 pick up. My favourite wii games are the light gun games like House of the Dead overkill, dead space extraction & resident evil games. Other great one is No More Heroes
Fijn weekend!
Love your videos and your editing style...I'm actually headed to Japan in about 2 weeks. Do you give tours? Would love to hit you up for one. Let me know.
bro can you read japanese descent? I have some pictures of movie/gaming related stuff i just want a idea of what it says@@4amLaundry if so do you have a contact or discord or something?
Suppose I shouldn't be surprised that an Initial D slot car set exists, haha! (Eurobeat sold separately.) So you did get the wave race shindou, I was gonna say it's like 3 bucks! would've been super cool to play it that way it's definitely one of my favorite racers on N64. and to answer the question, one wii game I've always wanted to try, don't know if you're familiar but it was a Japanese only release, sukeban shachou rena wii? some friends of mine have a long-running podcast and it came up during the week's release dates, next thing you know we were campaigning to get the game a domestic US release! sadly it never happened but the game sounded ridiculously fun. I wouldn't try to get a copy outside of Japan though it's going for ridiculous prices!
@@4amLaundry I like pausing the video when you have alot of games in view so i can check it out at my own pace and I saw diablo 2 in the left corner. I said " I gotta remember this spot" and then you snagged it haha
@@4amLaundry also, if you've played resident evil 4 before, the Wii edition is a game changer. The aiming controls are the best version of the game and makes it so much more fun
Im so jealous...as a American stuck here😂. Everything is so expensive. Then u got those who sell items from japan but raise the price even more cuz its not available here in the states. Japanese games are cheap compared to US stuff. Id love to go and get stuff like styluses and accessories. Stuff i can get away with since i dont know Japanese 😂
lol that diablo 3 was way out of place for that cost.. and u should show more record/vinyl / hifi stuff man.. doesnt matter if you got space, its good content. haha

Hard Off is probably my favourite store in the world. Found a lot of gems in there! Thanks for sharing
The n64 collection looking so nice man, its going to be hella satisfying
Vibey music, loving the look of thr n64 collection. Love that tidy cellophane wrap.
Nice video. Its rare to see some game haul complete with trailer gameplay on the side. Its amazing

Super dope spot this is definitely going on my hardoff hunting list for when I visit Thanks Pim 👍
Nice haul! Might head out to those on my hunts when I get there!
Man, that PS1 box for less than one dollar was incredible!! Thanks for this new video! So fun :D
Crazy right? Wish I had the room for it!
Over in the U.S. boxes are so hard to find and when you do you would never find one remotely that cheap crazy
Japan is such a wonderful country. I'd love to visit one day. It's just the mecca of retro gaming!
You should!
Great video as always, love the travel advice Google Earth(?) style
Great channel lots of work put into this channel thumbs up this channel guys!!!

Another awesome video, man! For Wii, you should definitely check out Sin & Punishment: Successor of the Skies. Sick railshooter!
I'll look it up, many people are recommending shooters (makes sense lol)

Ik ging vroeger nog wel eens naar Deurne, mooi dat er weer beurzen zijn! Thanks voor het kijken :)
where do you get the awesome background audio from ? its so good!
another freaking awesome video buddy! you should have another channel. The Junk Channel.
That's actually a good idea
Can you guys tell me what MUSIC that is at the beginning and end of the video??????
That Diablo game was(price wise) a great find!

Nah no tours, if you watched the game hunting guide video I try to explain how easy it is to just go out there :)
Well, if you really want to go to a big thrift store, the current largest Bookoff Super Bazaar in Japan is out in Maebashi in Gunma Prefecture.
Definitely adding that to the 2024 list!
Love the thumbnail, it got me to click, and im glad i did!

Agh, jelous lol, Diablo 2 PC box is on my grail list. I lost mine a few years after. and for so cheap. Hello from Canada!

Yup! Game Boys are region free, Japanese games also work on American/European Game Boys.
@@4amLaundry Does it work the other way around? Japanese games on American Gameboys?
Yup!
Hey Pim, please do a gaming room tour one day. I would love to see your collection of consoles & games.

Me too! I just have to keep it to certain genres and titles due to lack of space
Xenoblade is my favorite wii game by far, but Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn is also really good!
Both favorites of mine as well, thanks!
Seriously no Bagpack for Hunting !!! lool
Haha don't worry I always have a backpack, it was just filled with camera stuff and I didn't sort the games until after that shot lol
Ah, I frequent those 2 hard off locations on the weekends.

the fact you didnt get the hiroshi vinyl is so upsetting
Chibi robo for the GameCube is a really cool game
