    Right, so I made this, successfully! A bit bland for the curry, but it’s really your own preference, and I used whole wheat flour instead of white bread flour. Came out really pretty even though I baked it. And yes, if you bake it, it’s still crispy!

    In Trinidad this is called an aloo (potato) pie. It's really yummy, especially when served with different sauces (tamarind, mango or coconut) or stuffed with an additional Channa (garbanzo bean/ chickpea) filling. Yum!😀

      It’s called Japanese curry bread for a reason. It’s made with Japanese curry and way tastier than Indian curry. It’s not Japanese curry bread without Japanese curry..and it’s not something that came out yesterday. It’s been around for a long time. Anyways he’s not Japanese nor this is any way authentic Japanese curry bread. I’m Japanese and we don’t use cornstarch to thicken curry ever. Sorry but that’s gross actually. You don’t get flavor with corn starch but with flour. We sautés butter and wheat flour together and powdered spices are sautéed also. But most recipes use Japanese curry roux (you can get it at Japanese supermarket) And we almost always use beef. It’s a must. Try the real Japanese curry bread when you’re in Japan. It’s the tastiest thing.

    • @Nexiusify
      @Nexiusify 3 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      @@KittenBowl1 The joy of recipes is people making their own changes and adapting them. I am sure the original version is great but the new adaptations can be great too. Also saying things are 'way tastier' are very subjective and generally held within personal bias. Fusion foods can be amazing! And the reason I'd probably use no corn starch and flour is because both those thicken and slime-ify the food which is definitely something I do not like.
