    A popular North Indian snack is a "bread roll" which is quite similar but takes a very easy shortcut. Instead of making a dough, you just soak a slice of white sandwich bread in water, squeeze out excess water, and mold the bread over your stuffing. Because the bread is wet, it will easily fold over and stick together without breaking apart. You then deep fry it. You still get a real crispy exterior after deep frying it and it tastes delicious. Crunchy on the outside and soft and savory on the inside. Best part is that you don't need to make any dough from scratch and you don't even need to coat it with panko - because the bread itself has enough holes in it so it deep fries quite effectively.

    • @hotcheetogirl
      @hotcheetogirl 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What is the name of this snack in Indian? I want to learn about what they put inside too! Sounds yummy

    • @arunramachandran5012
      @arunramachandran5012 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@hotcheetogirl They are just called "bread rolls" in Hindi. Here's a recipe (the key flavor component is chaat masala which you can buy from an Indian grocery store. It is a spice blend that is tangy, sour, sweet, and spicy). You'll find yourself putting chaat masala in everything - it is like chili crisp oil - it goes well with so many things.

    Thanks Emmy for posting this video! It makes me very nostalgic. My mom made these exact same Kare pans with leftover Kare dinner. My dad however, would make his own version. It was equally as good. He would make a kare sandwich out of leftovers and plain white sandwich bread, cut it on the diagonal, dip it egg and dredge it with panko on all sides and deep fry it! I learned later on in life the deep fried sandwich version was a common thing when my parents were growing up.

    OMG this makes me SO HAPPY!!!
    When i was a kid and lived in Japan i use to always get "Curry Bread" at the 711 next to me and my moms apartment and i think about it all the time.
    I miss the 711s in Japan so much, they have the best stuff. I also got it at a little restaurant that would sell them as a full meal. ^^
    I am so excited to try this recipe!

    Randomly stumbled across this channel whilst looking for wacky Japanese sweets for my daughter. But oh wow... what a joy Emmy is. Such a natural and engaging presenter. Radiates enthusiasm. I'm now going to have to watch a mahoosive list of videos now to catch up and help make life that little bit better. Well done Emmy.
    PS: I am so hungry now having seen this video. Definitely inspired to make these.

    Your expression after you saw your kid with a hammer was so priceless. But I died when you shushed the alarm. Love your channel. And your voice is so therapeutic!
