had always wanted a u-2a 1/48......when this came out i didn't buy it..not sure why,maybe i had too many kits..just glad they are still available new.just ordered this and the afv u-2c and a couple of italeri u-2r/tr-1 kits......grabbing back for lost time i guess....top vid Peter,thanx
amazing that Kelly Johnson designed and got the aircraft in the sky so quickly - he was also responsible for the F104 Starfighter and the Sr-71 all while at Locheed
I was going to talk about the Blackbird but completely forgot...if you look carefully you can see a 1/72 Academy model of it hiding just behind my head.😖

Great review, Peter! Appears much better than the old Testors-Hawk kit, which is very long in the tooth.

This looks like a good kit, I did consider selling my Airfix kit of this to buy the AFV one.

The mirror was so the pilot could see if he was generating a contrail,not great over enemy territory!
