What’s up ant I recently just got my cdl a month ago and I applied for us foods and Sysco but they required at least 6 months of commercial driving experience. So I’ve been looking for other companies to start off with just up on till I can get some experience and reapply for foodservice.
@@pedroaquezada All Sysco houses have different policies. I retired from Sysco 8 years ago and about 5 years before I retired we went from an hourly wage to a grid system pay plan. At first, everyone was PISSED, but we actually got an even bigger boost in pay, so things quietened down in a hurry. About two years before I retired they went back to hourly pay again, but at a much higher rate than before when we were hourly. Still pissed most people off. But, funny thing was, our company President said his hands were tied, EVERYONE at Sysco were now being paid the same. I remember thinking that was BS, because Sysco pay could vary wildly region by region, state to state. Funny thing was, we were always crossing paths with Sysco drivers from other locations and I knew we would find out soon. Yep, the pay still varied greatly for other drivers only a few hundred miles away. At one time early in my career when I was working in Texas, we were making double what the drivers were making in Louisiana. On an amusing result, back in those days we were averaging high 600's to 700 cases a load. Those Louisiana drivers were going out with like 3 and 400 case loads and seldom over ten stops. I would have felt like that was a day off for me! With regard to experience, I worked at two Sysco locations and they both required 2 years of driving experience. Sometimes they would train a warehouse worker if he really wanted to be a driver. They usually spent a couple of months training them.
Hi thank you for dropping by, thank you for the comment..yes young guys are suitable for this kind of job,its quite hard because of lifting heavy stuff..but for me its just okay,no problem on it..Have a nice day..
Its tough job for sure. I'e been in Gordon for four months and its tiring and long hours but I choose them a million times over fedex express. Going out in 40c in the summer in Houston without a/c is terrible and working 70 hours in December because of peak is shit as well. And with all those damn hours, I wouldn't break $1,000. At least here pay much better and they fix the a/c. Fedex is trash.
Hello..i use liftgates when there’s customer that we need to bring the pallet near to the door, but if no need to use so we just use ramps..we drivers here not the one who prepare the trailer or load the trailer. We will just prepare carts and check, sometimes rearrange pallets if needed and tighten straps to secure loads..
Looking forward on applying at Sysco in (DFW), can I have any helpful tips for the interview please…I been on the moving business for 5 years so I’m used to lifting all day

What is LTL???
@@brandonholloman6835Less than truckload. Big LTL carriers are Old Dominion, R&L, Oak Harbor, Saia etc
@brandonholloman6835 less than truckload. From what I've seen, Its basically delivering and picking up pallets.
Pallet jack
Lift gate
Looks like an easy stop and probably made space in trailer
Driver and unloading this is 2 jobs!!!they should pay $50 per hour minimum!!!

Pbly go a bit easier if you didn’t walk backwards so much. Try loading your cart to walk forward when you can.

Weird. In Vegas they accepting right from the school.
@@pedroaquezadaif they need drivers bad enough they'll take them right outta school. It's usually avoided because of the insurance costs.
Try Pepsi beverages in your local area if you have it , they’ll hire anyone !
