    I did interviews with pfg, Martin Brower and us foods after working at Mclane for 2 years… I went with us foods. Right now the top company’s want drivers with food service experience because the job is physically demanding and new drivers are more likely to get hired and leave after seeing how tuff food service can be!

    Another good point to add to your next video. show many new drivers and even some veteran drivers expect to just be picked up soon as they apply but sometimes the main goal is to just get your foot in the door all of these food service places have warehouses or even a box truck route for non cdl. Then once hired you’ll know who to talk to and transfer

    I work for blueline food service. A lil bit more organized. Pallets are labeled by stops. Still gotta break them down but at least you know your pallets are for that stop. All your picking is frozen and chemicals. But, we have liftgates instead of ramps. My routes are always anywhere between 36-40 thousand lbs. 1300-1500 cases. We also dont scan product. We go off the invoice and just check off on items making sure that its all accounted for. Respect to everybody working foodservice and thugging it out. 💯 lets get this money 💰

    In my area SoCal, Sysco wants 12 months exp. I told u last time I’m goin OTR for Schneider but bro I got a little lucky and landed a local job 👌🏽 I went to the interview and sold my self to the max but the manager said I needed 3 months of xp, called me back the next day n say we have a trainer if your still interested and of course I took the offer. I’m excited to get some experience under my belt man. For y’all new drivers apply to all job postings on indeed and sell yourself that’s my best advice. My cdl position is hourly but we’re only working 45-50 per week and the part time gig I’m looking at is about 30 hours weekly. Is this allowed and Will this even show up somehow? Yes, you can have two jobs as a cdl driver in your scenario. I have a friend who’s a food service driver and works for Fed Ex part time as a package handler. It doesn’t impact your HOS. It’s two different jobs with only one needing to adhere to DOT REGULATIONS. With that said, hopefully you’re still able to get enough rest in between jobs so you’re not tired behind the wheel. The 10hr reset was put in place for a reason. Stay safe

      Whatever your own personal standards are that fit your goals is what you need to go with. If the money and schedule and the work required is cool with you, jump on it.

    • @imanthonytv
      @imanthonytv  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That’s a tough one champ. Simply because as a new driver if you do decide to wait it out in this market with so many people looking for jobs, who knows when the next offer will come? On the flip side if you do accept an offer from a job that may not be your first choice just remember that getting the driving experience is really the most important thing on your journey. If it makes sense for your situation then take it. Remember once you have that solid year along with the necessary endorsements depending on what you choose to do you’ll be good to go.

      If they give you the job take it. I had the opportunity about a year ago to train with them for a week in florida and then get the job but I turned it down. Now I wish I didn’t because I’m tryna get a local job almost a year of otr. Fuck otr lol

      First off, congrats on getting an interview. Some don’t make it that far believe it or not. Just make a good first impression bro. Have a good attitude. Ask good questions that are important to you. Benefits? Explain pay structure? How long does it normally take to get a route? Etc.. Express to them that you really want the opportunity to begin your trucking career. Good luck 👍🏾
