    Jr.Smith was always like a Ricky Davis up grade and bigger john starks with underrated handles and 1on1 skills. Iverson getting traded to Denver and that big brawl stunted Jr.smiths growth to being a allstar in Denver. BECAUSE Iverson came in and they moved JR to the 6th man but he was just blowing up

      Naw Tristan worked for his contract and he was there from the beginning. Tristan grinded. JR had TALENT. Not saying JR didn’t grind, but Tristan came into the league and improved every single year and transitioned into a viable paint presence.

      @sparkz11223 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@crazycriz5000 yea but I don’t think that’s enough to pay him more than jr smith.. he already had an established and solid career with the nuggets and Knicks.. and at one point, Tristan was looking big for nothing.. getting outrebounded by point guard

    • @crazycriz5000
      @crazycriz5000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sparkz11223 But if u gonna knock him u gotta give him credit cause he outrebounded guys he shouldn’t have also. I literally watched Tristan get a rebound through 3 guys. He got sooo many extra possessions for the Cavs and he stayed ready. As talented as JR was, he was inconsistent at times. Tristan was reliable. You can’t really compare their contracts and what they were getting paid because they played different positions and had 2 completely different roles for the team so its unfair to both of them to compare one with the other.

    JR Smith had all star to borderline superstar talent in his prime. Definitely had a solid career I think he had too many distractions that prevented him from getting on that level but he’s a champion and definitely a memorable player💯

  • @MarkCampbellTV

    I know exactly what he means by how J.R. disregarded his own capabilities. I was sitting in a car one summer day shortly after Cleveland won the title waiting for this woman to come outside. Next thing I know I hear a loud engine revving. I notice a tall, tatted, shirtless brother pulls up in the view of my driver side mirror on an ATV (of all things just considering the liability or risk of injury). It’s J.R. Smith. Pro athlete is the last thing I’m thinking about as someone pulls up on me in the Weequhaic section of Newark, NJ. Sometimes I wonder if he ever recognized that he could beat anyone to the spot he wanted and dunk on them. Could shoot from outside and defend. Great floor runner. If they gave him the ball 20-30 times a night and he wanted it he could’ve been perennial all-star, Hall of fame. Made more money. Did one of the sickest dunks in the history of the contest and he’s riding a quad up and down the block in the often hot (not talking about the weather) south side of Newark. Everybody can’t be Kobe, MJ, Carter or D-Wade but he had that same “toolbox” of size, athleticism and skill as a lot of those caliber of performers.

      Thats crazy. I honestly think a guy like jr would've benefited from a few years of college. instead of getting the big check at 18 straight out of high school.

      I'm from newark too Jr started banging and everything. His skillset naturally was kobe LeBron level. I'll never forget going to game watching him play the number 2 team in country it was Blair academy. They had Charlie villabevue and lueol Deng. Luol went to Duke 1 and done lottery pick and Charlie went to uconn I belive one and done. Charlie was number 3 player in country and lueol was number 2. They sss on same team. I was in stands with hurley father a hs legend coach who's son I belive coaches ucon got drafted by Utah jazz first round ended up careet ending car accident . The dad hurley was talking with me and said jr has the ability to be considered one of the best players in history. He was flirting with declaring to go pro and hurley said he believed Jr needed structure and discipline a respected college coach like dean Smith. He felt 2 years under dean Smith would prepare him to go for kobes crown. He felt Jr would listen ti him because he's the one that seasoned Michasl Jordan. Jr started doing steph curry type shit pulling up damn near half court hitting 3s. They had to switch leuol Deng on him. Jr did a reverse dunk on Charlie villabevue I swear if anybody has footage of that it was literally best dunk I ever saw EVER. That Christmas tournament game gave him exposure kicking 2 of top 3 hs players in country ass he was a fill in I believe for hs all American game. That game he became mvp and Jr said fuck unc I'm going pro. His first year with bulls I think he had a decent rookie season heading into his second season he was supposed to really show out thay summer he was driving drunk in South Jersey he ran a stop sign and killed his best friend who was from eo and u cud see from that point on he went into a deep depression started smoking mad weed drinking clubbing. He was working off pure natural talent . Had he had half 8f that mamba mentality I really believe Jr would been a top 10 NBA player of all time. I'm just glad he made it out the hood and had a decent long career but he definitely not only costed his self probably 100 -150 million dollars in contracts and even more endorsement deals because he was aligning him self with the wrong elements. Being a blood getting into club fights . Time by time I search TH-cam to look up that reverse windmill dunk he did in a game in traffic on a future NBA first round pick back in early 2000s at st Benedict vs Blair academy Christmas tournament. Anybody ever find footage @ me lol.
