- A lot of people ask me where I come up with all these old trucks. I find a lot on FaceSpace, truck buddies and TRUCK FARMS. You heard me right. Truck Farms! In today's video we head to Eastern Kansas to my buddies private GM truck collection that we call the truck farm. We are in search for a light green (503) driver side door for a 1968 GMC. See what else we bring home!

Best generation ever! Keep history livin on
That Chevy Truck Farm is my Zen!
Nice to see a farm dedicated to chevy and GMC trucks. In my opinions, the best trucks built. Many people dont know this, but chevy used the model numbers c10 for their half ton pickups while GmC used c15 model numbers for their half ton pickups. In my opinion, i think the GMC trucks are more rarely seen today because everyone wants the c10. But GMC was always know as the higher end fancier pickups up until the 5th generation started. Now chevy offers the high country to kimd of compete with the GMC denali.
Coby has a neat thing going out there! I had always been a C10 guy until I bought my 71 GMC! It has really grown on me. I like the small differences it has over the C10s.
Nothing beats the old trucks in style
I agree with you!
BEST TRUCKS EVER, NO ONE WANTS FORDS AND DODGES OF THIS ERA! 😃
You can’t beat an old Chevy!
Need 83 short bed just the bed
95% of the Fords are still on the road. That’s why you don’t see no Ford junkyard.
@@ricktotz4078Found On Road Dead
I disagree 67-72 bumpside Ford trucks and 65 -71 dodge swept line are my favorite trucks they have body staying and character those gm trucks just don't have, and i am a big GM square body truck fan
I'm here in Oklahoma and a friend of mine just started up a shop where he restores classic cars and trucks I still have my dad's 72 Chevy sitting in the garage waiting to be rebuilt and redone I plan on keeping everything original except for maybe the paint The paint is an ugly gold color but I may keep it too it just depends but anyway I can't wait till I have it running and going once again in just a footnote here we bought it from a Chevy dealer in Yukon Oklahoma back in 1972 three on the tree four barrel carburetor 350 engine no power steering no radio no air conditioning and my dad paid $2,000 for it back then what a difference 52 years makes lol
That’s awesome! The stories that come with the trucks are just as good as the trucks if you ask me! I’m familiar with Yukon OK. In high school I would deliver dealer trades to the Yukon Chevrolet dealership on Garth Brooks Boulevard.
@@ItsTheChad71
Would that by chance have been Alan Merrell Chevrolet? Because that's where we bought this one lol
@@ItsTheChad71forget about that last comment I had a bit of a memory lapse here was thinking you and I might be the same age and I just realized you're probably about 20 years younger than me so Alan Murrow Chevrolet was probably no longer around when you were making your deliveries as a matter of fact Garth Brooks boulevard didn't even exist at that time lol but still kind of cool to know that you spent some time up here as well
I miss my old 72 everyday. Never should have sold her!
I know the feeling! Maybe you can get another one someday!
@@ItsTheChad71 I hope to own another someday. The guy I sold it to has already put over 20 grand in her.
This truck farm reminds me of the quote “many will die so that more may live”. Long live the C10! Love seeing all the round eyes.
That’s a great quote! He has some good stuff out there!
I love the old Chevy trucks and had 2 of the square bodies, a 73 and a 79. I really love the old step sides. Those trucks were true American work horses.
Absolutely and they are still working hard! 60s and 70 trucks were though to beat!
At my local Pick-n-Pull, C-10s are picked clean! Got to know someone who can alert you to a new delivery.
Stuff goes fast without a heads up.
Bought, fixed a bit and sold many C10s.
They are a blast!
Thanks for sharing, safe travels.
You bet. Thanks for watching!
Theres a Chevy truck farm 67-72 In Kodak TN. Right outside Sevierville and Knoxville.
It’s probably a good thing that is more than a day trip for me or I might be in trouble!
Tornados don't often show up without hailstones!
Buyers,...check for knuckle-bumbs!
That’s the truth in Kansas!
I know coby personally ive sold him a couple trucks and bought parts from him i daily a 71 c20 hes the only one who has a lot of that stuff around here
He is a good dude! I enjoy going out and buying a bunch of stuff I don’t need! You can’t go wrong with a 71!
for me as a german, to see this, this makes my heart race ♥ never seen something like a so called truck farm and i love it. even though my heart belongs to buick classics, this here makes me smile and wanted to see this in person. i love it. wonderful trucks and nice, nice video! thank you so much for sharing this with us ♥ love and greetings, Ela :)
Thanks for the support! You can go wrong with a Buick! My moms daily driver when I was a kid was a 72 Skylark. It was sweet! Those truck farms make me feel like a kid in a candy store. Thanks for reaching out. It’s awesome to talk to folks from all over.
@@ItsTheChad71 awww hi :)) soo nice to read your answer, thats great :)) a good friend of mine ownes a beautiful 51 buick special in a wonderful light blue color... i can't explain, what this car means to me. its sooo beautiful. and when we meet i have to take pictures and pictures... (but these are only on instagram, not here on YT) ♥♥ buicks are love on wheels.. to me :D but i'm so happy that your momma had one back in the days. i hope she was happy with this beautiful skylark :)
I'd love to have the cuda Colby is using for his sign. LOL
It makes a really cool entrance!
Would love to get a few things from that goldmine of trucks❤😎☕
.
69 GMC K2500...its had me 28yrs⚡👀⚡😁
That is a great place to burn a paycheck or two! What part of the country are you?
There's a salvage yard near Pella, Iowa called "Doug's Fourwheelers", and they have a TON of 67-72 C10 trucks tucked away. I got my rust free '67 front clip, my West Coast Jr mirrors, my OE sliding rear glass, and a bunch of other tough to find stuff from there. The guy has been stockpiling this stuff for years!
That sounds like a place I need to see real soon! Thanks for the heads up!
@@ItsTheChad71 Sure thing! If you'd like a local to show you around when you come this way, drop me a line!
@@projectinlinesix Most definitely!
My neighbor is cleaning her backyard out and asked if I wanted a truck for free, I pulled the tarp off and it's a 72 c10 350 auto let's go baby twin turbo ls t56 time
Truck farms from back in the day were farms that farmers grew their own produce and then sold it off the back of their trucks. Open to correction if I’m wrong
That would make sense to me!
Fun video, Chad! I wish I lived closer..... I'd surely like the inner and lower cowls off the blue truck from which you guys got the door! Always fun when you can road trip w/ a bud to a truck farm!!! A+++++ video!!!
I appreciate it! My cousin is my partner in crime and enabler for sure. It is fun to have the same interests in hot rods. That was a cool 68 donor truck! Catch ya on the next one!
That's a honey hole..lol
It’s good that he is a couple hours away so I don’t have easy access to buy more!
I need a vent driver side window C-20 74&a front windshield
Holler a Coby direct and see if he can’t help you.
That place is awesome
It’s fun each time you go out there because it’s always new trucks!
Regarding the power steering box working with the original shaft, there’s a company called Johnny Law Motors that sells couplers and full replacement shafts. I got a full kit with two u joint couplers for about $200 to go from the stock power steering box to the aftermarket column that came with my truck. Their customer service was top notch too
I appreciate it Collin! I will relay the info. Thanks for sharing it with us all!
I need a good cab, mine the drip rails are gone and i dont mind having to do the rockers or cab corners, i really just need the top to be in excellent shape. thankyou
What part of the country are you?
@@ItsTheChad71im in southeast mo
Great content! My dad just bought an AC unit from you and told me about what you do!
Thanks Ben! You got a good dad! I’m always glad to help the next guy out. Thanks for what you do!
Wow that's cool. I would like to check it out someday. Maybe I would like to find another square body or a 67-72 chevy or a suburban.
Heck yeah! I would like to get a 67-72 suburban one day to haul the family.
@@ItsTheChad71 nice.
@@chevylandt.v stick with the 67 thru 72 more more character are far less was at those and they are the square body seems like everybody has a square body these days
Don't forget Matt Dillon and Dodge City
Yeah buddy! Cawker City and the world’s largest ball of twine!
Esa sería la primera parte a la que viajara si fuera a estados unidos, tengo una GMC 1970 y ya le falta alguna que otra cosita como el radio, pero quiero conseguirle más piezas por si acaso, para que dure aún más andando.
Hi. Where can I get a new 72 C10 dash panel? Thanks. Great show.
Thanks for the support! I usually get my parts from Classic Parts of America or LMC since they are my local venders. I also buy from CJ Pony and Brothers as well.
Looking for an original glove box liner with no holes for a 1970 C20 without air conditioning
It's if it's a sixty 72 seventy two, he's already got the engine Mounts and needs The mounts on bolt from the end of the steel piece from the 6 cylinder. I'm good, and they bolt directly to your 8.
I didn’t realize you could swap left to right on an in-line and make them for a V8. I learn something everyday.
Some interesting history on the square body models is development on them began back in 1968. Vehicle components underwent simulated testing on computers before the prototypes were built for real world testing. A number of different body designs on clay models were made before the last one was made & picked to have as their next generation model. Before that square body design was made, a concept pickup was built & looked similar to the 1972 Dodge fullsize pickup which was also in development at the time. GM was about to choose the design on that concept pickup & start producing them in the 1972 model year but got pushed back to the 1973 model year instead because the pickup & Dodge's pickup had similar appearances & GM didn't wanna be a copycat so they went back to the drawing board to come up with a new design. It wasn't until late 1969 like around December or so when the designs on the clay models began to look close to those square bodies. In the summer season of 1972, the square body models were finally revealed & began being delivered to the dealerships. The model years they were produced were from 1973 through 1991 except at the beginning of the 1988 model year, the regular cab pickups "half ton & three quarter ton models only" were dropped, but the one ton regular cab pickups on the other hand were still in production up through the 1989 model year.
How was going to get those rims off . By making the bolts snap off ?
Hopefully break the rust weld. We got one! I left the rest. Figured the holes would be trashed.
Cold you post paint code on both blue 69s
Sorry for the delay. The light blue color was 507 and medium blue was 510.
Amigos una pregunta ❔ tengo una Cheroke modelo 86 ,tiene el Buster malo pero aquí en Costa Rica no hay ,,puedo ponerle un Buster de un Chevy, por favor que me aconsejan,,
Do you have a windshield wiper motor for a 1973 Chevy C 10
Sorry I don't.
It would be nice to see you fixed up old truck and not turning them into hot rods keep them the way they came
That’s my plan for next couple at least. I enjoy saving them from the crusher or Mother Nature. At least it gives the teen or guy on a tight budget a decent starting point.
Do you sell any 71 or 72 Chevy grilles with the blue bow tie emblem?
I don’t have any right now, but you might reach out to Coby.
Anyone know where to find some 69-72 chevy Medium Olive fenders I need some asap. Thank you
