    First truck was 67 longbed, small rear window, straight 6 with 3 on tree set up same way with 2 in widened gm artillery wheels and 38s. What a beast, man i miss it! Put three three wheelers in back and did the coal hills in central pa. What great times. Bought it for 100$, sold it two years later for 100$. Great video, thanks!

    • @theaveragebear7873
      @theaveragebear7873 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rowdy3837 It's coming along. I am about to get it running in the next week or two. Everything takes longer than I thought it was going to, so I decided to do it all at once. Short bed conversion, leaf spring to coils, drop spindles and lower springs 2.5/4 , changed to a 12 bolt rear end, disc brakes all around, hydroboost, headers and new exhaust and electric fans. Also along the way I cleaned and painted everything that I could. I was lucky that it was a truck from the desert, so there was no rust, just black widows and hornet nests in all the wrong places. Good luck with your build, I wish I had a 454 in mine, but the 350 is running strong, so I don't want to mess with it right now.

    • @DoubleArrow
      @DoubleArrow  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree in certain respects. I think the short beds look good low with the right wheels/tires, but the long beds look terrible lowered or with too small of tires. I used to have a '72 4x4 long bed that looked awesome lifted and on 35" tires, but the 2wd long bed is tough to get the look right. I like the way I have this one setup, but I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. Thanks for watching!

      Comet and a scotchbrite pad. It didn't turn the rust black, but scrubbed off the top oxidized layer exposing that black primer underneath. This trick only works on old single stage paint, nothing with a modern clear coat
