    I don't care how a phone "feels". I'm more concerned with internal specs and the screen quality. That said, I always use a case.

    • @foxtechh
      @foxtechh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's exactly my point. Doesn't matter what it's made of when people use a case... Could save money and use plastic rather than glass. But yeah the feel is less important than internals and software and how it all works together ofc.

  • @mbaxter22
    @mbaxter22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    Thank you! I’ve been saying this forever. Phone chassis’ should all just be made of plastic/polycarbonate because they’re going to be in a case anyways. Manufacturers should just concentrate on the internals.

    • @foxtechh
      @foxtechh  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      100% agree! Really couldn't agree more... The fact people just use cases anyway means phones shouldn't be made of glass on the back. 🤜🤛

    I love using my phone with no case, I do use one when I know that I am going to be doing something when the risk is higher to drop it. Other than that though if they're gonna make my phone look like jewelry then why not use it?

    • @foxtechh
      @foxtechh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      EXACTLY, that’s the way to look at it. If they’re gonna put so much time into design and materials, then it’s best to be used without a case as much as possible. Better experience that way. Nice!

    The Apple Watch lets you do most basic tasks when you’re out and about without needing to pull out your iPhone at all. I use my iPod, iPad, and MacBook without cases, so now I’m thinking that maybe I should take it off the iPhone too
    Edit: It’s a metal iPhone, not a glass one

    I only use a case when I'm working heavy outdoors but as soon as I'm indoors, the case comes right off.

  • @codgamerla
    @codgamerla 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Completely agree. I use a phone case on my iPhone and it completely changes the feel of the phone. And you can barely see the back of the phone so what’s the point in making a fancy design. Could easily just save consumers a load of money and make lighter more reliable phones for sure. Great video! Smashed it foxtech☺️☺️ love the beginning btw!

Phone manufacturers make the phones in a way that needs us to buy other accessories like phone cases, dongles, apple is even selling a wipe cloth. I like the feel of my phone without a case, but I also like it without any cracks so I slap a nice case on it.

    Plastic bodies also dissipate impact energy better through deformation, while metal edges transfer it towards the glass on the screen and on the back, signifigantly increasing the chance of shattering it.
    Last week I dropped my Xiaomi phone (all glass of course...) while walking to the station and trying to look up the train schedule at the same time.
    It landed screen down on a small rock and the screen died instantly, even though it had a silicone case and a glass screen protector installed.
    Had to pay 50% of the phone price to have it replaced as well as wait a week for the part to arrive -- completely ridiculous how both fragile and expensive these things are nowadays!

    • @foxtechh
      @foxtechh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I had a case on my OnePlus 7 Pro too and that’s smashed on the front and back haha agree, they’re so fragile and expensive these days, I think it needs to stop. Plastic/polycarbonate, if done well, is so underrated 👍 thanks for the comment Dan

    I honestly don't prefer phone case because it makes more uncomfortable to hold weight increases uselessly. Even more back of the phone just disappear after using. It's better to be more careful with the phones . Accident happens but case heats the phone as well specially in India where weather is normally higher in summers . Well Apple won't remove their back glass other companies can but impossible from Apple side they are popular for premium and most of the companies specially OnePlus copies them simultaneously.

    Flat displays and plastic bodies are much more convenient. Phones breaking became a thing after glass backs became a thing, it's almost like they want you to break your phone. A lightweight plastic phone will survive a drop much better than a two heavy pieces of glass with a metal frame around them.
