    15:21 Where is his mom?!!!!!
    lol... the thoughts of every viewer, when this aired... basically the moral of season 2
    Where the hell is Carl, and why isn't Lori watching him?

    Fun Fact: The ENTIRE cast at the time gathered around that open field to watch the Rick-Shane scene because they knew what would go down and wanted to see with their own eyes.

  • @Phyllis-ki2xo
    @Phyllis-ki2xo 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +26

    Shane wanted Rick's family for himself. I feel that Shane got himself killed by leading Rick out to that field and forcing Rick to defend himself. Rick did what he had to do.

      @mjusda4353 You're right. Lori gave Shane mixed signals, and that wasn't fair to Shane. She should have made it perfectly clear to Shane that she wanted her husband and only her husband. Shane still wanted Rick's family for himself and led Rick out into that field.

    That scene with Rick and Shane has got to be one of the best scenes in the entirety of the series.

    Carl only pulled the gun to kill Shane but idk why the directors wanted to trick the viewers to thinking he pulled it on Rick

    • @bethanychatman9531
      @bethanychatman9531 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Because that was what Rick thought. At this time Rick didn't want to believe nor did he believe that no matter how people died as long as the brain wasn't damaged they would turn. He knew that. Carl didn't know that and he didn't know that Shane already reanimated and turned into a walker. He thought Carl just watched him kill Shane and was afraid of his father.

    Still to this day both Dale’s death and Shane’s death were the first character deaths to hit me hard Dale being the voice of reason and the moral compass in the group and all about having humanity is what’s right for us as human beings one of my favourites and Shane Rick’s best friend and right hand man until Daryl stepped up when he had to put down Dale Shane was another one of my favourites yeah I understand why Shane had to die was never suppose to happen but he had to I can tell that deep down Rick didn’t wanna kill his best friend but he had to Shane lost his mind there was no way out of that I just wish that they coulda worked things out and made up but sadly Rick killing Shane had to happen I’m sure this is gonna have a big impact on the group especially Rick because deep down he cared for him to this day I still miss Dale and Shane.

    For Rick to end Shane was on another level. IMO, I didn't think Lori was just trying to apologize to Shane. But, Shane did take it as " she still wants me". Carl has a major tendency to run around.. Rick and Carl's conversation always gets me in the feels

  • @dravenquinn264
    @dravenquinn264 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Little Comic Comparison here Carl shooting Shane zombified was a similarity to the comic because in the comics Shane was already dead by this point in the comics Shane is killed pretty quickly just before they left the Atlanta camp Shane tries to kill Rick but then Carl shoots Shane dead alive saving Rick it’s great that TV Shane outlived his comic counterpart but it’s sad that we lost a great character I thought Jon Bernthal did a great job playing the role as Shane the actor went on to do different things I followed the actor after he was killed off here he went on to be in great movies and I loved him as Frank Castle/The Punisher in Marvel’s Netflix shows Daredevil Season 2 and The Punisher He mighta been an asshole at the end but deep down he’s still a human being that cared about Rick and the group i still miss Shane.

  • @_LexiMae

    Lori was too worried about Shane's feelings being hurt and the wedge she brought between Shane and Rick. She knew Shane was dangerous and talking to him this final time made him decide to do what he wanted to do all along.
    Carl wasn't pulling his gun out on Rick. He was pulling it out on Shane. I think they clear that up in the next episode because its shot from a different angle. But even if that was the reason, he's a child. He walked up at the worst possible moment. What is he supposed to think?
    I don't think I could ever forgive Lori for cheating on Rick with Shane. I know she thought he was dead, but not enough time passed to justify her sleeping with him. She was too busy off in the woods with Shane and not watching her son during a zombie apocalypse lol so I don't expect her to watch him now. Your reactions I think express how frustrated everyone feels watching this episode. There was so much going on

    • @AtypicalReactions
      @AtypicalReactions  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I can't get passed Lori cheating with Shane either. How do you start sleeping with your husband's best friend/partner not even a month after you thought he passed. Shouldn't you be grieving?!
      And you're absolutely right about Lori! She wasn't really ever watching Carl. She was always wandering off with Shane. Smh.

    As much as it's Shane's fault for his death I rly do blame Lori for 80% of his mental health declining. Shane rly could have come back if Lori just gave him space and not give him hope. Also Shanes body language is interesting in the scene where he holds rick at gunpoint. If u pay attention to his eyes at one point he relaxes them and tenses his eyebrows. That's a sign of Grief he's rly conflicted about killing Rick and I don't think at that point in time he would have done it. He also holds Rick's hand and face as hes on the ground which is interesting. Also the entire cast was there to watch this scene. Both incredible actors john Bernthal and Andrew Lincoln were probably two of the best actors on that show

    • @AtypicalReactions
      @AtypicalReactions  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We agree! Lori created a lot of the conflict between Rick and Shane. Her mixed signals were the undoing to Shane's mental health. We may not be fans of Shane. However, Jon Bernthal did an incredible job playing that role! 😊

    • @nh9894
      @nh9894 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No sorry, Shane is a grown man responsible for his own actions. You're the type that would blame a woman for a mans DV/assault, towards her. I guess when he assaulted her, that was her fault too, right?..Sick of people using mental health as an excuse, Shane was a pos.
      Also I don't agree that Lori was sending mixed signals, she made it perfectly clear to Shane that she didn't want a relationship with him since her husband was back. Her apologies were genuine, how did she know he was gonna take them the wrong way, she still made it pretty clear that what they had was over.

  • @shilohsyniski
    @shilohsyniski 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    And Jenelle it's funny when you said Shane and Lori could have been messing around before cause I thought the same thing listen to both rick and lori when they talk about the troubles they were going through why would Lori get mad at rick for being reasonable with her unless she was already astray

    • @_LexiMae
      @_LexiMae 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I don't think they were messing around, but I do suspect that Rick and Lori were already having marital problems before the apocalypse even began. He asks Shane whats the difference between men and women instead of coming out and telling him they're struggling as a couple. It also explains why he wasn't as upset when he put two and two together.
      It's also insinuated in the beginning when Rick and him are taking a walk in the woods about how he's a womanizer, and cheating isn't a new thing for him. Didn't he say he slept with their gym teacher as a teen or something? And Rick was like, wasn't she married?

  • @obdiane
    @obdiane 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

    Yeah, Lori is a horrible mother and wife (to be honest). I never understood why Rick loves her. Not watching your child in a zombie apocalypse is crazy.. Shane is better suited for her because he's trash, too (horrible friend to Rick).

    Rick loved Shane. He did what he had to do - Shane forced his hand. But that doesn't mean it isn't painful for Rick to do it. Shane was his partner and his best friend for years and years before this. :(
    And Carl was definitely aiming at Shane, not Rick. Not a very nice fake out for the show to pull on us, but definitely the truth of the situation.

  • @dravenquinn264
    @dravenquinn264 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    If you pay attention to his verbiage in that scene Shane clearly just wanted to die at this point and baited Rick into killing him Jon Bernthal even wanted a reveal that Shane’s gun was empty the whole time.

    Shane is a very underrated, and misunderstood character. Yes what he did to lori was bad cant justify that part but what she did to him emotionally is just terrible, he did try is best to save rick but the number of military presence/walkers he couldnt but alas the things people will do in later seasons will put shane to shame. Shane for the most of was ahead of his time and made rick into who he is starting the end of this episode. Hope theres no spoilers in this if you read lol.

      Shane is still responsible for Shane's actions. yeah, Lori didn't help, but as we see Shane told Lori he had feelings before the apocalypse , " Lori this was along time coming".
