The title says it all. Our reactions to episodes 2-14 of season 7 of The Walking Dead are now available over on our Patreon: www.patreon.com/ScribblesReactions
The title of the episode is a reference to what Jenner (the doctor on CDC) told Rick in season 1 finale. Rick says "Thank you. I'm grateful" regarding the doctor letting them leave before the explosion, and Jenner replies "The day will come when you won't be". And that day has finally arrived.
One of the hardest parts for me was looking into Rick’s eyes at the end Andrew Lincoln is a phenomenal actor I felt every inch of the Fear hate shame loss anger and Great sadness over his loss.
This is still the most brutal thing I've seen on TV. I think it was also the most impactful episode. Many people stopped watching after this aired. Negan is one of the best villains. We waited many months to see this episode and it was truly traumatizing. Even though I've watched this multiple times, I still cry and feel sick.
Love you guys so much, and just so you know, Steven Yeun wanted his comic book death he was excited about it and Abraham didn't die like this in the comics
They had to film EVERYONE getting hit because there was a 6 month wait btwn episode 16 and this… so they filmed everyone so if footage leaked, it couldn’t spoil the actual episode… no one would know who wit was… it was a LONNNNNNGGGG 6 months.
And because we had the comics, some people knew what happened in the comics and were spreading that information like are they gonna do the same or change the person. It was so intense the wait for the next season.
Remember guys..s1 finale when Dr Jenner told Rick "The Day will come when you won't be" So here we are 😢💔 one of the scariest scene in the history of cinema ever😢
This was hilarious. Priceless reactions. Especially the part "Just a show" 4x lol! Also best part of that imaginary dinner with Glenn was when Carl denied Tara of that bread basket. lol
The episode title is a reference to Season 1 at the CDC when Rick told Dr Jenner that he was grateful for letting them live and Jenner responded The day will come when you won’t be All those Seasons later this is the day he was talking about.
Seriously one of the most well-acted episodes in twd history. Andrew lincoln’s snot bubble is legendary 😭 this one was a lot to take in but hope y’all take care, love the reactions as usual ❤️
Negan said think about what I did and what I can still do. So Rick couldn’t stop picturing it happening to everyone. This will be the hardest episode you have to watch. They wanted us to really hate Negan.
As a comic fan, when this aired I stood up and cheered when I saw Glenn’s eye. I didn’t think they would have the spine to keep the gore on par with the books in that scene.
I appreciate them staying true to the comics for that scene. It's almost identical frame by frame to the comic panels. They did a great job of that in 7x7 too.
Same here. A lot of the TV-only fans got upset with comic fans for being happy about this, but they can't understand how exciting it was for us to see this seminal moment from the source material adapted so well on screen.
I remember the teaser for the next episode of TWD. "Little piggy, little piggy let me in." and all the characters looking worried and Eugene looking like he's jizzing his pants brown. Epic. 😂
There are a small handful of episodes i anticipate reactors seeing for the first time. This is one of them. The video just started and I can already hear you guys yelling at the writers already.
This episode is definitely one of the most traumatizing episodes of tv ever made. I remember when I watched it in 2016 and then couldn’t sleep for a week
So, believe it or not, the comics that the show is based on are SO MUCH DARKER. The showrunners had to lighten up the story a little to make it suitable for television. For example, in the comics, Lori doesn't die in childbirth. She is shot and killed by one of the Governor's people while fleeing the prison with infant Judith in her arms. After she is shot, she falls and crushes Judith.
When Daryl jumped up and punched Negan my heart sank because I just knew Negan was going to punish the group more and to kill off one of the originals in such a graphic way. My heart was empty after this episode. But the acting was amazing.
Rick at the CDC: "I'm grateful." ... Jenner: "The Day will come when you won't be" (This Episode is Probably the best Answer to a Cliffhanger Ever-Made on Earth, the writing, the acting, and also when you watch it for the first time, you're sad for Abraham and Glenn because you lose them, but when you rewatch it again and again, you see that the real heartbreak is how Negan broke Rick) ... People had to wait for months to see who got killed (April 2016 to October 2016 I think)
You know when the finale of season 6 first aired you had to wait half a year or a year for the next season, can't remember how long but it was a long time and there were so many theories who could have died. And by having so much time to think about it you had time to imagine ANYONE getting killed right there and were prepared for it. When this episode dropped however they managed to shock us all with the second death of Glenn, when the first death didn't surprise us that much. It was such a biiigggg shock like how did they manage to do that? I was seriously impressed how the showmakers kept me on the edge of my seat and made me shocked, terrified, devasted, traumatized .... I felt so many emotions watching this and they topped it off with the Carl scene. That was too much. Epic writing and acting !!!!!!! Negan and Rick deserve all the awards !!!! Wow so atmospheric. Unfortunately the series kinda went downhill from here on no matter how strong these two episodes were... the only thing that kept this show fun was indeed Negans character but that's not how it should be. The show should not be entertaining only because of the scenes of ONE character. Many other side characters began to have no personality at all , it became more storyline focussed than character focussed like what made TWD special before.... But I still watched it till the end, and it wasn't that bad tbh it still had really enjoyable episodes and the storyline was still interesting enough to keep watching !
This episode broke me and a lot of ppl stop watching the show after this episode honestly but keep watching it’s still good moments to come💯the actor that played Rick definitely deserves an award for his acting in this all of them did it’s crazy they didn’t get one
Our 6 month wait was excruciating. Fans made memes with graph's and charts to figure out. Doing our own eeny meany. Looking at the blood on Rick's face to see who was on that side
Oh man.. I'll never quite forget the days after this episode aired.. people just couldnt cope - Negan had Rick blubbering like a baby, blowing snot bubbles and stuff.
As a comic fan, I knew this was coming for a WHILE. It is the turning point in the comics even. Glenn's Death is the most important death in the entire franchise and it's such a shame that he was the heart and soul of the show. It was cruel. It was manipulative. It was raw and rough. It cost Season 7 from here on out. People were upset at the Gore. They toned down the fire for the rest of the season. It's insane. But it was accurate to the comics. Aside from the surprise Abraham death. They had actually "leaked" a scene before this happened where Negan kills Maggie. Glenn gets knocked out before it happens. She spits blood in Negans face before he finishes her. According to the leaks, they had filmed all of their deaths, but it was later stated that they had alternate deaths. First being Maggie and Aaron. Second being Eugene and Aaron. Third being Glenn and Abraham, which was always the plan. They needed to keep people off the trail. And if it weren't for a leaked set pic that showed Rick, Rosita, Michonne, Carl, Aaron, and Tara were all alive still, people wouldn't have known anything for MONTHS.
We just finished S7, and looking back, it's noticeable they toned it down. We wondered if that was how they wanted it to be or maybe because of the audience.
@@ScribblesReactions It was called darker and more graphic than anything ever shown on Cable Television. They really pushed the boundaries of the Ratings system 😂😅
Abraham didn't die in the comics. Glenn did. The scene with his eye popped out is straight from the comics. Personally I was pissed off by the cliffhanger of last season and this episode did not redeem the show for me. Great reaction.
Gotta give Andrew Lincoln credit, I believe one of the greatest actors out there. 6x16 the people I knew for sure wasn't gonna die were Rick,Carl and Maggie cause of what negan said " cut the other boy's eye out and feed it to his father. And Maggie because negan said " taking it like a champ" Horrible but great acting from Andrew.
7 Seasons at Rick’s side and Glenn never killed a human When he committed his first murder which couldn’t be more insidious (stabbed the survivor in his sleep) his fate was sealed Photos of mashed heads were already hanging over the murdered man.
I thought the way it was “too much” was necessary for us to get into the mindset and situation Rick and co actually are. Our media tends to glorify snarky heroes who never submit and who somehow always manage to pull solutions right out their ass, avoiding all consequences. This though... you as a viewer might first be like: “Just kill this mofo, you can do it” BUT in the end you instead start going like: “Enough! Just say yes, stay down, don't fight.” I've actually seen this in other reactions, to a point in which they were terrified when one of Rich's people even made a peep (like Michonne speaking up with: "We understand!"). And like, yes, that captures the reality of the situation.
Exactly the reaction I had. I don't scream at stuff when I'm watching a show, but this, I just gasped and stared at the scream in horror and then I cried when I realized I lost both my favorite characters in one episode when Negan left them there
This episode broke the world it was talked about forever and a lot of fans dropped watching I had to keep watching glad I did still the greatest show ever well about zombies that is lol
From my understanding, no one knew who was getting Lucille d except Glenn and Abraham. They found out while filming this episode. They spent 5 or more hours in the middle of the night for filming
Yeah Glenn's death was extremely brutal because that is pretty much one to one with the comic book. With him calling out to Maggie and his eye was sadly accurate.
I watched this with my daughters years ago. I told them "Terror is when you're afraid something bad will happen. Horror is when you see it happen. The next episode is horror."
In Episode 14 when Eugene told Abraham what he told him,I knew then that Abraham would be killed off soon... 2 episodes later it came true... But I as everyone didn't know what was to still come. This was the beginning of the Series changing from the Original Theme of TWD (Rick Grimes & The Group) -To Something else... Season 7 & 8 was a Mass exit of fans leaving the show from 15+ Millions watching to eventually barely down to 2 million... I will Always miss the Original Theme of TWD - Seasons 1 through 5 - Best TV Series in History 👍😎🇺🇸
This episode made a lot of ppl stop watching (their loss 🤷🏽♀️). It definitely reinforced "no one is safe." It's an iconic comic scene, and I'm glad the show stayed true to the source material. I loved Glenn, and that was the point. It wouldn't be as impactful if it was an extra or a lesser known character/extra.
Hello guys, I am behind on a few of your TWD videos, but saw you put up this one today so I just had to watch! I have to say you handled this episode much better than I thought you would. There were a lot of people who saw Glenn and Abraham die and they decided to quit the show for good because of it, without knowing that this was from TWD comic books, and Negan is very much pulled from those comic books. His character and meeting him was suppose to be very traumatizing to Rick and the group. Negan wanted them to fear him, he wanted Rick broken. Steven Yeun even asked for Glenn's death. If you really pay attention, Glenn's death has been foreshadowed since the early seasons as well. This season (I don't know what episode you're up to) is a ride and there's a whole of Negan and his awful group, so please don't give up, our group has faced many bad guys before and they always win in the end one way or another!
People who’ve only seen the show thinks that some things happen in the show for shock value, show runners are running out of ideas or just to mess with you etc, but the real deal is the Comic Book is darker than the show. This episode is a glimpse of the theme throughout the comic. For Example: The Governor cut his Walker daughter’s teeth out of her mouth in order to give her a kiss.
There are so few characters in the show who get the same death that they did in the comics, and Glenn might be the only one of the good guys that did. They even brought the messed up face and him saying, "Maggie I'll find you" straight off the page and onto the screen. Brutality was at maximum, but they had to make a statement for negan to be introduced.
Comic Comparisons: In the comics Glenn is the only death The RV trip with Rick and the threat of having Rick cut off Carl’s arm doesn’t happen in the comics Negan kills Glenn and then walks off in the same way he does here Ta ta Line for line the Lucille moment was the same Taking it like a champ Lucille is a vampire bat I just hit you so goddamn hard your eyeball just popped out And it is gross as shit Negan’s time has only just begun. Fun Fact: The title for this episode is the same thing Jenner told him at the CDC back on the Season 1 finale when Rick told him he was grateful that Jenner was letting them go That day has come now.
This episode made my dad stop watching the show entirely. The brutality reached a level that really shocked him and he didn’t want to be caught off guard like that again. He said “zombies aren’t real but baseball bats are and I don’t need anymore of that” I remember there being a video on TH-cam about the making of the episode and how the actors felt filming it
This was one of if not the most viewed episode to my knowledge and it was the last straw for a lot of fans ratings tanked and tanked. I heard people were also angry about the cliffhanger last episode. Narratively this episode is memorable but most don’t want to see the core cast die off 2nd saddest episode imo Rick and company must replay this a million ways but irony is that Negan let them off easy and this was gonna happen regardless. There’s often debate on if Rick screwed up by attacking them but the real way he screwed up was just not having more knowledge. Remember Jesus said they killed one of theirs and the bikers that stopped Daryl Abraham and Sasha said they usually shoot on sight to prove a point. So had they found Alexandria and got in they’d have done the same thing Negan is basically just emotionally manipulating the situation to please some of his people who felt a loss I blame the Saviors for attacking others in the first place instead of actually being what their title implies
When I watch this it really blow my mind while starting this introduction. Also emotional in the end. Which Glenn is the closest friend to Rick in S1 😢
Hello 👋 Another awesome video, 👍👍 This episode was definitely gut wrenching, it does not matter how many times I watch this, I still cry, 😪 RIP Abraham and Glenn, 😪😪 That luncheon shot was so sad to see, I have bought the Series on DVDs, so I watch the behind the scene stuff, deleted scenes, etc, one of the deleted scenes from this episode showed a longer clip of everyone coming together for the luncheon, I of course cried again because it showed Sasha pregnant as well as Glenn & Maggie’s boy at the toddlerish stage, so sad, 😪 Soooo, just in case you are interested there is a video of Adam Minarovich, who in S1, played Ed Pelletier (Carol’s husband), did a reaction to Glenn’s death, it is worth a watch, I would love to see you guys react to it if you get the time, 👍😀👍 Have a safe and wonderful rest of your week, 👋😀👋
Was I the only person who loved this episode when I first watched it. I wished the show was this gory and funny throughout. I was laughing watching this😃
26:19 😂😂😂😂😂😂 lmaoooo *me rocking back and forth it’s just a showitsjustashow😭* I tried to watch a few more episodes after this and I just couldn’t 😵💫 it got so dark and I hated negan sooooo much. I’m gonna finally finish it soon so I can enjoy the Daryl show!
Even today, no matter how many times I watched this episode I still cry like the first time. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 Glen’s words “Maggie I will find you.” 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 And no you guys didn’t over act. It affected a lot of the fans.
Damn this episode is amazing, the best of the show by quite a margin. Really hard, but just perfectly done. Actor, especially Rick and Negan "the man" are amazing, Lucille is quiet but we always understand her point. Abraham died because he was the tough guy, Glenn because of Daryl punching "the man". They took Daryl because they knew he is Rick's right arm and a guy hard to "rebuild"'. Damn that Negan... for me the best character of the show in season who he appears.
Ironic enough you predicted Maggie’s fate that literally weeks before the premiere of season 7 a footage was leaked showing Maggie fate was being struck with the bat and had a bit of dialogues after being struck. This set the internet on fire, of course ultimately y’all are now aware Maggie wasn’t the one.
It was much more of an experience had you watched it as it aired for the first time. The nervousness i had and then watching Glenn get killed as he was one of the staples of the show. I think I was numb watching it all and it's weird, but I had an exhausting feeling after the episode ended. The episode title really fit this episode well after what Jenner tells Rick at the CDC in season 1.
Nah they jumped the shark with the Dumpster episode, everyone knew this episode was coming & had a feeling Glen was dying. They were Fucked either way, either piss off the comic fans or what we got.
The goal of this episode was to traumatize viewers. They brought psychologists and trauma specialists into the writing room and made sure they were on set to help producers and directors. Up until this point viewers would throw around how easily they could handle things, they acted like they knew what they would do in these situations. They don’t. You never do until you’re in it. So they wrote and directed in a way that would make viewers feel like they were there, with the help of our emotional attachment to the characters after years of watching, of course. And regardless of the comics, Glenn was the most obvious answer. Everyone loved Glenn, they rooted for Glenn and Maggie reuniting. And it worked. Most people I’ve spoken to were traumatized by this episode. The writers and show runners did what they set out to do.
Fun fact ; this episode had some of the best wiewing, and then the walking dead lost like half of their wiewers, it was too brutal to many people, they just quit the show lmao
When S7E1 Started Everyone Blamed Daryl For Glenn Being Killed Off, I 💯% Disagreed With That Theory, Negan Was Gonna Take Out More Than 1 Person. Glenn Wanted Off The Show Anyhow, He Was Starting A New Show Called Beef, Negan Took Out Abraham Because He Was The Biggest & Thought He Would Be A Bigger Threat Later On... That Theory Was So Wrong & Far Off Base, Which You'll See Later On If You Continue The Walking Dead.. Guy's PLEASE Don't Stop Watching TWD.... When This Scene Happened It Broke The Internet/TV ECT.....Alot Of People Stopped Watching TWD Because Of Glenn's Death. Abraham Gave Sasha The Peace Sign As To Say His Final Goodbye To Her, He Did Take That Hit Like A Champ But He Also Got No Love Or Anything From His Death, Glenn Got It All. IMO Abraham Was A Better Actor Anyways.. I Took Abraham's Death Harder Than I Did Glenn's Death.... Sad But Great Reaction As Always Guy's, Please I Say Again Don't Stop Watching TWD It Gets Even Better With A Happy Loving Ending. Much❤️From🇧🇩
When Abraham gets hits I immediately got kinda pissed they got scared outta killing Glenn, then when I happens I got instantly pissed 😂😂 negan is an absolute menace but arguably has the best patter in the entire show. Jefferey dean Morgan is so fucking good
The title says it all.

Abraham did the peace sign to Sasha as a goodbye before he got killed😭✌️❤️
The acting in this episode was chef’s kiss!👏🏽 They made sure we felt every emotion of the characters. This is survival in the apocalypse sometimes.
The acting was 10 out 10. All of them outdid themselves.

I never picked up on it, but Glenn the first character looking at the polaroid foresaw how he'd die.
That’s also the same night he first took a life. Kind of a cruel irony that the first time he breaks his code is the beginning of the end for him

I feel like they should have killed Abraham in the season 6 final. And glenn in the season 7 premiere.
Abrahams death feels so over shadowed by Glenn.
I sobbed like a family memeber died when Glenn died, I was very young watching and Glenn was my favorite, truly still heartbroken 8 years later
This was hos glen was ment to go out in the comics. Im personally not happy they killed off 2 members in the scene..but is what it is.
For
Example: The Governor cut his Walker daughter’s teeth out of her mouth in order to give her a kiss.
TO THIS DAY, this is still one of the hardest episodes to watch.
Not to mention, one of the best.
“Something to fear” let’s see if anyone can guess where this phrase comes from and what it reference to.
I dreaded the day you both watched this episode. Without spoiling anything…. It gets better
If it makes you feel better, this was the beginning of the end of TWD. Glenn's death pissed off a lot of viewers!
The trauma this episode gave me is crazy
Phenomenal acting and writing
Glenn will be in our hearts forever ♥
This is the episode that most people stop watching the walking dead at.
Losing both Abraham AND Glenn is crazy big loss. Two amazing characters, especially Glenn who was right from the beginning.
'You bunch of pussies' ~ Negan
The show is so tame compared to the comic, this is the one time it actually had balls and people bailed 😂🤷♂️
Tbf I feel that it was less so to do with those characters dying, and more so to do with the show just dropping off in quality
Killing off pretty much the two most likable characters in one episode is diabolical work.
This one just broke my heart ❤️ 😢
I like torturing myself😂 That's how i keep watching over and over AND watch reactions lol
And Now One OG Joined The Dead Club Glenn, Lori, Beth, Dale, Andrea, Hershel, T-dog, Shane, Merle, Amy, Jim, Jaquie😢💔
Now imagine: Watching the Season finale and than wait a hole year to find out who died 🥲
At least it's not 2 years like the boys
He said “zombies aren’t real but baseball bats are and I don’t need anymore of that”
I remember there being a video on TH-cam about the making of the episode and how the actors felt filming it
The day will come when you won't be. The greatest written episode ever written from the walking dead.
took me literally years to come with terms with this scene of Glenn to be able to finish twd
This was one of if not the most viewed episode to my knowledge and it was the last straw for a lot of fans ratings tanked and tanked. I heard people were also angry about the cliffhanger last episode. Narratively this episode is memorable but most don’t want to see the core cast die off 2nd saddest episode imo
Rick and company must replay this a million ways but irony is that Negan let them off easy and this was gonna happen regardless. There’s often debate on if Rick screwed up by attacking them but the real way he screwed up was just not having more knowledge. Remember Jesus said they killed one of theirs and the bikers that stopped Daryl Abraham and Sasha said they usually shoot on sight to prove a point. So had they found Alexandria and got in they’d have done the same thing Negan is basically just emotionally manipulating the situation to please some of his people who felt a loss
I blame the Saviors for attacking others in the first place instead of actually being what their title implies
This was an extremely difficult episode to watch, even on rewatches.
i BEEN waiting for this episode! Scary and crazy!
The GOAT of The Walking Dead comes smashing his way into the show, the one and only Negan 🎉🥳🎊🥂
Oof madon'. I remember this one live. Tough one to sit thru, and in my opinion the last episode of the great era.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, JDM is the only actor who could play Negan in my opinion
Rip Glenn and Abraham, I don’t know if you noticed but one of the saviors standing behind Glenn around 14:03 looked sad
Here we go!! I am so excited and ready for this one
When I watch this it really blow my mind while starting this introduction. Also emotional in the end. Which Glenn is the closest friend to Rick in S1 😢
Hello 👋
Another awesome video, 👍👍
This episode was definitely gut wrenching, it does not matter how many times I watch this, I still cry, 😪
RIP Abraham and Glenn, 😪😪
That luncheon shot was so sad to see, I have bought the Series on DVDs, so I watch the behind the scene stuff, deleted scenes, etc, one of the deleted scenes from this episode showed a longer clip of everyone coming together for the luncheon, I of course cried again because it showed Sasha pregnant as well as Glenn & Maggie’s boy at the toddlerish stage, so sad, 😪
Soooo, just in case you are interested there is a video of
Adam Minarovich, who in S1, played Ed Pelletier (Carol’s husband), did a reaction to Glenn’s death, it is worth a watch, I would love to see you guys react to it if you get the time, 👍😀👍
Have a safe and wonderful rest of your week, 👋😀👋
Was I the only person who loved this episode when I first watched it. I wished the show was this gory and funny throughout. I was laughing watching this😃
26:19 😂😂😂😂😂😂 lmaoooo *me rocking back and forth it’s just a showitsjustashow😭*
I tried to watch a few more episodes after this and I just couldn’t 😵💫 it got so dark and I hated negan sooooo much.
I’m gonna finally finish it soon so I can enjoy the Daryl show!
Even today, no matter how many times I watched this episode I still cry like the first time. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 Glen’s words “Maggie I will find you.” 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
And no you guys didn’t over act.
Trauma 💔
😞
Ironic enough you predicted Maggie’s fate that literally weeks before the premiere of season 7 a footage was leaked showing Maggie fate was being struck with the bat and had a bit of dialogues after being struck. This set the internet on fire, of course ultimately y’all are now aware Maggie wasn’t the one.
8 years later and I still am not over my hatred for Negan for doing this to our fam😔
I cry every time i watch it. And now I cry again 😭 I love TWD ❤️
The moment TWD jumped the shark
Jefferey dean Morgan is so fucking good
Glenn killed by negan in the comics too.
