hii! currently looking into this career path. what social media tools do you use? what's the company/industry you work for? what are some pros and cons?

i'm trained in a lot: hootsuite, sprout social, hubspot and then asana for project management. for privacy i'm not going to reveal where i work :) i think pros are def the flexibility and every day is different. it's also a fast paced environment if that's for you! cons are definitely that sometimes you deal with not so great people (online) and then sometimes working outside your hours when there are important events. also, it could be a con if you don't like being in an industry that is changing so fast. hope this helps :)

This is the exact way Im feeling with looking for work, I enjoy social media. I am taking digital marketing course, and I am wondering if companies will still hire if I am still fresh in digital marketing. Should I just apply anyways?

I meann my advice is to go for it! I applied to Social Media Manager roles with 0 professional experience. What I've learned is that it's mostly learning on the job and there are so many applicable skills from other industries.

hey Alyx i loved ur video! if you see this comment would you mind telling me some advice on how to start off with social media marketing?
im a 23 year old whos back to school in community college, after messing up my first 3 years in Uni. anyways so far this past fall semester i was doing an on campus job where its all about media from editing to posting on social media to filming content etc & i was wondering what should i learn about social media marketing when i eventually get an internship & how to propel that to a career job when i graduate school? Altho this upcoming spring semester i’ll be in that media job again but im planning to do an internship this upcoming summer

I think the best skills that helped me were definitely the technical ones (editing, shooting content and writing copy), but I also recommend building the communication skills, leadership skills and project management!

@@alyxandriaang Thank you, those are some options. I’m good at analyzing and coming up with the ideas, but I just also hate finances / or too much with the numbers in general. 😑
