In my opinion Gill is the best teacher! She speaks not very fast as some other teachers I watch. I am Russian and I really think that this lessons are helpful.
I have seen so many people or teachers trying to teach TH sound even showing how to make the tongue position... but all they make is make me so much more conscious about my tongue position and i have to pause every single time i encounter UNVOICED TH sound.. but this video has helped me so much and I can speak much much faster without having to use an awkward break for th sound . guess An experienced teacher is much more better than those barely 30 years old wanna be teachers,I guess.
Helo Francesca, I'm Brazilian and i need someone to talk to, improve conversation skills. Do you wnat to be my conversation partner ? I can even teach you a few words in portuguese(which is already very similar to Italian).
Hi everyone! Let me give you a small advice, don't make the same mistake I'd made - do not waste your time on bloggers from your countries/that speak your language to study. Some time ago I was watching a video by some guy, russian speaking blogger, and he was assuming quite opposite things if to compare with what this lady is saying. Whom should I trust and whom should I keep on listening to? I think, it's obvious. I am only sorry that I'd found Gill only now. Anyway, I am grateful to all the people, who created this and made it free. Gill is great ❤ Edt: sorry for my poor English, it's foreign for me.
It’s very easy for me as an Arabic person to pronounce these words, that’s because the Arabic language is having these characters. So we can’t find any difficulties of the prononciation. Thank you
Very effective as usual you are Madame ! Indeed these sounds are a little dificult to pronounce for a french man like me. I must say you are one of the rare person I can understand most of time. i'm learning english since a couple of years so far and you have helped me often when i was stopped in many cases. Thank you for your teaching.
I really got bad experience with this word " thursday " this is very very difficult and arduous word for me ..,I cant differentiate how to say " thursday and Tuesday " especially when talking with English speaker....., Well Gill Thank u so much for ur lesson...I love it....I hope I can speak better from day to day..
Th sound is similar to Spanish z or c before vowel. Also this sound can be done putting the tongue's tip against the tip of upper teeth. I make this sound too, with the tongue's tip behind the upper teeth. I think it's better produced.
@@mdc734 thanks, at the moment i'm able to do the TH sound, it's something like Spanish C as you said, but it's more quickly, what make the sound similar to T or D as well
i do not know how this happened but after learning r here, I can pronounce rr which I practiced many times before but failed and I completely gave up. Just like Gill said, I pronounced rr suddenly. Yet I think this video helps to pronounce rr...Thank you..
I'm actually surprisingly good at saying through or throne but awful at saying bathroom. If the word was bathrone I'd be amongst the best in the world, but if my life depended on me succesfully saying bathroom, the only thing left for me to do would be to pick between pine or oak.
Hi Kathy -- for words beginning thr--- there's no additional vowel sound between the TH and the R -- they have to be said together. You should have the tip of your tongue touching your top teeth for TH, then pull your tongue back into your mouth to make the R sound. I hope that helps :-)

*These/those lessons😊. You can use,,this” only to sth singular😅.
"Th" sounds really driving me crazy, thank for the lesson anyway
The best pronunciation teacher I ever heard
Wonderful woman & teacher. Many thanks!!!
Azazel010101 I think the phrase "Thank you very much" is more properly. Is just an advice.
You can use both. :)
@@pedrochatelain4064 Sometimes I say: Yes, fank you very mooch, when I want to slightly alter my accent. English sounds are soooo cute to me.
I'm from Brazil, and in portuguese we don't have the "TH" sound, it's very difficult to learn and put in practice! Thanks a lot.
A maioria acaba fazendo um som de f no lugar do th
Same with Spanish here!
@@vitorsousa9067 Ou do D, aí fala Dâmsday
@@tahia1988 É mais o som d existe no th tbm o f existe mas ele é mais específico.

Thank you very much Gill for your perfect, specific and beautiful pronunciation, explanation and diction. JBiG.

Wow wife and husband learn English together
Both Russian and Ukrainian don't have these sounds. It is really hard for students to pronouse them. They often mix them with "s" or "z"
In french too, it's a nightmare sometime xD
Amazing class. I think i'm doing it right, but it's still sounding like F or S or T sounds, if someone have a tip I accept it 😅
