Hey Nick I highly recommend you to stop putting down black plastic. Use landscape fabric instead. Black plastic with gravel and hot summers kill plants. Its recommended to even leave a short of well around plants and trees so they can get the oxygen they need. At least here in AZ plastic is big no no. Hope this recommendation helps you out. Good work
Spending a few minutes to put a couple vertical cuts in bigger decorative walls like that tend to ease the stress a bit and quicken the demo. You can pretty much snap off 2-4ft sections like a Hershey bar and keep the clean up pretty straight forward
Shaun Kay Were trying man! This time of year gets a little easier. Spending an extra 45 minutes to film in the summer heat isn’t fun lol. When it’s not so hot I really do enjoy filming our projects 👍🏼
You guys made that place look great! A couple pieces of advice from personal experience, throwing down a quick sheet of 1/2" plywood on the concrete can save you some headaches if the brick/block falls the wrong way and keeps it from scraping up the concrete. Second is definitely a thumb for your mini, it would have cut your cleanup time in half for the brick demo, and also would have allowed you to control the demo better. Third would be to use a demo hammer (corded or cordless) right at the house to make a separation prior to demo (again, a few extra minutes can save a major headache in the event the house would get damaged). It would also show you if they had dowled rebar into the existing house, if they had done that you could have pulled the brick facade right off the house (or worse). Fourth would be to always consult your insurance agent prior to doing this type of job, including shooting them over a few quick pics, that way they can't say you didn't make them aware (if you did this, obviously disregard). Fifth and finally, when looking at a demo job like that, don't be afraid to reach out to a local masonry or general contractor for help on the bid. If we were taking those walls down, we probably would have been between $6-10k just for that alone. Usually if you tell the contractor you call what you're trying to do, they're usually willing to help. If I can ever be of assistance to you in the future (if you ever run into another job like this) send me a PM. I'd be glad to talk to you guys on the phone even if I could help you out. Keep up the great work and videos!
Void_ Colin Haha, I was wondering if anyone would notice. It’s mostly done just have some final touches to finish up and I don’t want to post until it’s 100% complete. Should be in the next week 👍🏼 Thanks for watching!
@@nickenslandscapingexcavating Yea you did great. That is one of those jobs where honestly the place looked fine before and it wasnt some major makeover with hidden landmines as you worked along. If they were only all this easy and profitable...

Not tryna be a hater - the job was done very beautifully , just on the brick work instead of using the machine , I’d rather use a sledgehammer - charge $50 a head 🤷🏼♂️
Kohler Lawn Service glad you enjoyed it! Landscape is a matter of experience. The more you do the more people talk. It takes time, just make sure when you get your shot you do a good job. Lawn signs, truck logos, and always wearing our t shirts has really helped us grow 👍🏼
scubasteve728 We generally don’t use wood. We Cleary explain to the customer they will need to do some reseeding. We offer as an additional service but most do it themselves. 👍🏼
It’s a shame the customer wanted the walls taken out, they would have looked good in the new landscape. I assume the 13k is before you take out all the supplies?
@@nickenslandscapingexcavating True, I see that. I was curious about what an installer actually does. I got offered a job, but they made it seem like it was more of a planting thing. I originally applied because I have experience in Lawn Service (mowing, edging, weed wracking, and packback blower), and their business truck claimed they do Lawn Service among other service as well.
Awesome job guys!!! Back when I first started landscaping. We would have to get rid of the shrubs by hand. Hard work for sure!!!
And how would get rid of them started my own landscaping company

Hard hats! One bump with that bucket and your day is done, especially with the operating moving the controls while you are adjusting those chains.
Dope video Alex! Super clean install and the lighting 🔥🔥🔥

Good seeing both good job keep it up 👍

What was your profit on the $13k? after 3 days of labor, fuel, dump fees, material cost, wear and tear consideration on the equipment etc.
One man job with thumb

KLC LAWN & LANDSCAPING 🤣😂 Sun up to sun down 💪🏼
Great job time for a thumb for that 331
Tread Lightly Services LLC. You said it man! We need one bad!
Why not saw through segments of the wall; say about 5 foot sections and then knocked the wall sideways?
Did you change your rear duals and between when you pulled away and came back lol? They were a smooth tire look like then all of a sudden you gained tread
I love the planters on the pavers. Looks awesome!
Time for some new pins on that machine
Get 2 time lapse cams and let them run at different angles?
thewhiteknight02 thanks for the input 👍🏼
How do you determine the prices in job sites like this?
Fuel Cost to get gear and employees to work site
Distance from equipment storage yard
Employees needed
Output of employees - days for job - labor cost
Cost of materials
Disposal of waste Material
Fuel cost to drive to dispose of waste material

Wow!
Nice work as always. Those kichler lights look great.
I would have cut them off close to the foundation and then wouldn't need to be as careful
Omaha Lawnscaping Solutions, LLC yeah we thought about that but the more we could get out of there the better
Bam 💥 look awesome fellas 👍🏾did you install the lighting ? What brand of lights ?
Grassology4610 Thanks man! Yes we did, it is all Kitchler (commercial NOT from the box stores)
Do you guys have a landscape minimum when people contact you about getting a bid?
Jon Zimmerman We do not, no job to big or small. When bid right they all make the same money 👍🏼
Is that a non permeable underlayment?
thewhiteknight02 No, it is designed for landscape beds.

That's right I would of used a concrete saw.
PRO'S
How much is the truck?
Drake Meinert $14,000
Some plywood would have helped protect some of the grass and concrete during demo and planting
scubasteve728 We generally don’t use wood. We Cleary explain to the customer they will need to do some reseeding. We offer as an additional service but most do it themselves. 👍🏼
You need to get a thumb for that machine be done in no time but looking good
Dan Larkin yes we do! That is on my list 👌🏼 Thanks for watching!
Would u trade that truck
Put those plants in pots and resale them $40 a plant
Chase Pelletier haha, transplanting usually doesn’t work out for us
It’s a shame the customer wanted the walls taken out, they would have looked good in the new landscape. I assume the 13k is before you take out all the supplies?
William B yeah a lot of people had said that about the walls... $13,000 was before materials, after materials we were about $10,000 for the good
That's only$3k with of materials? The stone by itself would cost us that much here in Tampa
im sure im way behind and you have sold this truck by now right?? lol
You need to weld a thumb on that machine.
👍👍👍💰💲💰💲👍
Willie's Lawn Care Service L.L.C. MONEY MONEY MONEY!! MONEY 💰
Good job but a thumb on the excavator would have saved a lot of time.
