Ah I see why I never had this issue, I always turned off the Game filters and Photo mode when installing this and show casing it in my videos, even the notifications. I noticed a spike when opening the overlay in games but that was about it.
Too much niceties towards big bad nvidia. Going against it can bring you a lack of sponsorships or usually outright ban. That’s why there’s gasps among the nvidia-simping crowd when you asked a legitimate question
you found them, that 15% performance loss could be useful to make the 5060 with 8GB of vram look better. Personal experience, never update Nvidia drivers when new graphics cards come around

I have NEVER used GeForce Experience as I always considered it bloatware, and manual adjustments were better anyway. I always assumed it would cause some performance impact, even if minor. Even if that specific program didn't do that (your benchmarks show it clearly impacts the lows), it looks like the "upgrade" to it does. I never planned on installing it until it became mandatory to access the Nvidia control panel anyway.

Good to know- I use the studio drivers on my setup due to the animation business I have and noticed as well some unique anomalies when I have folders with considerable amounts of files that have hefty sizes on other drives in my system seemingly freeze the whole system and that recently.
I don't even install GeForce experience on customer PCs. The less unnecessary crap bogging down the system the better. They can always download later if they need or want.

I'm sure they'll fix it. Getting rid of the 90s era control panel and not having to login to access features of your card are big upgrades. I was surprised when I moved to AMD how good their control panel is.

Yes Game Filters will eat some FPS, they are practically like Reshade. But i don't think they should eat any FPS while you have no filters set to active. I use it to add some color pop (still on 8bit TN panel in 2024... ugh) and increase brightness in Helldivers II when stuff is hard to see in night maps.
I have already noticed that by my own, i was hoping they would fix it with the final version but that did not happen. I stick with old geforce experience until they fix performance issues.
Because not everyone wants to set or change settings with scripts. Don't get me wrong. I love scripts for automating menial or repetitive tasks but GUI control panels also have their place.
It's hard to understand your desktop video comparisons because you don't show when you click to do something. Are the clicks/keystrokes lined up? It just looks like 2 similar videos slightly out of sync with each other
I will try get some try get a 1000 FPS demo on it if it isn't fixed in the future, however I lined up the up the refresh fade to illustrate the difference, and it was at least in one example 33ms~ roughly slower. (1 frame at 30 fps).
Back in the day devs had to go through hoops to take advantage of every single bit of proccessing but nowadays computers have become so powerful that devs just DGAF, your PC is getting slower? Buy a brand new one that's 10% better for double the price of what you paid for the last one, oh and don't forget to double the RAM as soon as you get it. I want a simple interface that runs faster than my monitor can keep up, not a shinny transparency crap with worthless animations that runs at 10 FPS. Back in the days of windows vista my friends often complained about their PC's slowing down, I just turn off the desktop transparency and it suddenly became faster than when it was new, their minds were blown.

Feel like you're making a bigger deal of it than it is. So it's one specific setting that if you turn off gets you back to margin of error differences.
Forget nVidia and Windows. AMD and ARC GPU's on Linux. If you want an awesome experience with an Intel GPU, use it with Linux. The drivers are more mature on Linux.

Maybe this is why when I updated to 24h2 I saw my 3dmark Timespy GPU score go down from 35k to around 32k.

You can take screenshots with just Windows alone or MSI Afterburner. GF Experience also hurts performance, just not as much.

What were those weird smudges in charts and and some benchmarks. Seems strange to censor cpu name in one place but not in the other. Weird.
In settings turn off the "game filters/photo" mode button and you regain the performance. On average it's a 3% to 7% loss in FPS.

CPUs get faster, allowing headroom for devs to "do more" with software, but bringing down the snappiness again. It is a cycle.

These numbers are significant in reviews, especially when the new products are coming out. 10-15% is usually another tier of GPU and or CPU!

i have tested this without the filter profile and its no difference in fps, absolutely nothing, maybe this is an issue only in some games
