Stunning weather and good luck John. Only 13 miles it seemed a lot longer. Those chp 2 and chp3 look challenging if the weather is poor/bad. Enjoy and thanks for sharing.
Great video John, stunning views and so much character with the terrain around here as you mentioned. I ran around here last weekend and was amazed by the area, nice to see it again on your video recce! Have a great race next month mate, I’m sure the legs will feel it! 😅💪🏻
Lake District fells looking at their stunning best! Beautifully filmed, thanks for all the work you put in to capture these runs. 👍 I was lucky enough to be in the Lakes last week and have never had such a glorious week of weather 😎
Nice one John. Running was hard hot work a couple of weeks ago!! Good luck tomorrow... Nice new cap 🤠 by the way. Keep up the good work - love these vids when I can't be on the fells.
John, my wife wants you to put up the music you've used on this and your other videos, particularly this one and another she's watched, (5 tips about fell running), please. Great tunes as well as great videos, enjoyable, accessible.. Thanks
Great vid, cheers. Was there on 2nd recce yesterday; very wet & very boggy currently (standard across from Thunacar to Angle Tarn, really!) See you there, forecast is for warm weather!
Thanks Evan. Yes it’ll take a couple of weeks to properly acclimatise and then you can really smash some hot weather training 💪🏻 good luck with the marathon mate 🤘🏻
Loved the video, quality as always, using it as a bit of an online recce lol as I’m running the 7 valleys ultra next weekend, as it’s a long way for me to get up there for regular recce runs! Keep the films coming my friend 👌🏻
Another great vid John. If you managed Borrowdale OK then you'll have no issues with the cut offs in this, I think they're a bit easier. One minor point Esk Hause is pronounced as in 'pause' not as in 'house' - it's an easy one to miss 😃
Good to see you out again John. I ran the four far Northern fells a couple of weeks back: Carrock - High Pike - Knott - Gt Calva. 14.1 miles in four and a half hours inc. stops... so I don't think I'll be entering any fell races anytime soon LOL! Yet to explore the ones around Bow Fell so looking forward to it ... although did manage to smash both nearside tyres at 05:30 last Sunday morning on a pot hole on Wrynose, so I'm a bit wary of that area now!
@@lakelandtrailrunner - Yep. Both blown. I had to limp it VERY slowly back down to civilisation. No signal, and no way a recovery truck would have made it up!
@@burrianaUK damn… I’ve been lucky so far but I need to start carrying a spare tyre and jack so I can self rescue.. however, I’d be buggered if I had a double blow out like yours 😬
Outstanding video mate. First class. Absolutely stellar weather you had. We'll need plenty of bitty if it's a bitty course 😆 Keeping everything crossed that I will defy the odds and make the start line 🤞
@@jonnywose2528 thanks mate.. yup I was thinking that when I was getting down it during the vid. There’s quite a few spots where there’ll be congestion I reckon.. unless you’re at the front.. which I’ll not be 😂

Great to finally meet you at 3 Shires and thanks for putting together these videos .Really helpful to a novice who started fell running in November👣
You too Andrew. Awesome race wasn’t it?
Well put together video. Lot of effort in that. Very clear conditions. Not always like that out there. Best wishes.
Thanks man glad you enjoyed it. Trying to improve with each vid 🤘🏻🙂

Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it. Should be a good race 300+ entrants when I last checked. See you there 👌🏻
Welcome back! Wanting to get some miles in since my move abroad but it’s so hot at the min! Marathon in Dec for the first time 😬
Thanks Evan. Yes it’ll take a couple of weeks to properly acclimatise and then you can really smash some hot weather training 💪🏻 good luck with the marathon mate 🤘🏻
Enjoying your vlogs John, I've recently accended Helvylln with my Son. Thanks for the inspiration.
Nice one Alan I’m glad I’ve given you some inspiration and you’re enjoying the vids.. more to come! 🤘🏻🙂
Keep them coming John : )
Great video and very informative again John.

Cheers mate.. ah that’s sucks, pot holes are a nightmare on that stretch of road.. did you have to change out both tyres?

Nice one John. I thought the chicken run around the bad step was to the right (and a lot slower) but to the left as you pointed out looks really quick
Problem I've found with the bad step on race day is it's a bottleneck

Bitty? 😁
