DON'T DO IT. First, never get a launch edition ANYTHING until VW has worked out all the bugs and addressed any first year issues. Second, I have a 17' GLI also-tornado red, APR stage 1. Your car is only two years old, and unless it is paid off that negative equity is going to absolutely roast you. This mk7 is NOT that much of an improvement over the outgoing generation. And it's easily probable. Yes, there is a bump in hp and torque, and it does now offer a true LSD and 7 spd dual clutch, but that in and of itself is not enough to get me to pull the trigger on one. AND, it's STILL NOT a GTI with a trunk. This car is around 200 lbs heavier than a comparably equipped GTI, which effectively negates any gains in hp and tq. My car is still relatively new, still under warranty AND has a tune. I'm pushing nearly 270 hp and roughly 300 lb ft torque with a simple ECU flash and no other mods. I am VERY satisfied with my mk6 and until it's paid off I can more than live with it, lol...
This video's sales technique in a nutshell: "It doesn't have this, but it does have this unrelated thing that's not really a feature." No sunroof? Don't worry- it has vanity mirrors! No foglights? Never fear- it has a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine!
EuroTrader The instruction manual for my 2018 Audi S3 (same basic engine design as GTI, GLI, Golf R) says 10K intervals for "normal" conditions but then goes on to say 5K intervals for any of the following conditions: Cold climates Stop and Go traffic Frequent cold starts Dusty environments Spirited driving Since I experience all of those conditions, I do 5K intervals. Also, if you experience any of those conditions, and you still choose only 10K intervals, VAG can void your warranty should the engine fail. That's something to consider as well.

The pricing quoted is Volkswagen's pricing, NOT the dealership's. Every dealership gets the car for the same base pricing. SOME, not all cars come with port add-ons and maintenance packages, as well as marketing prices. It is just not because of where the car is specifically.
Would love to see a higher-specced model... No rear air? No power driver seat? Is digital dash an option? Is MT an option? So glad GLI is MQB now, but this is not how I would option one.
Bummed to see the 35th Anniversary doesn't come standard with the sunroof & digital cockpit as VW advertised at the auto show when they debuted these. I'm guessing its gonna be an extra $2-3k for those add ons.

Jalen Fabregas I work at a VW dealership along with many others. I have a 19 SEL Premium Jetta for my wife with everything in it. Bought for $23,500 out the door. I have also ordered a GLI arriving here beginning of May fully loaded as well with all the features, digital dash, Titan leather, larger display, homelink and what not and it cost $28,200 out the door.
Every dealership is different. Here in Cali Volkswagens are a dime a dozen, literally every other vehicle on the road, whereas in most other parts of the country they're almost a "boutique" item, and in these areas the dealerships take advantage of that and jack up the price accordingly. I'm sure this dealership is guilty of over valuing their inventory.
So this 35th edition doesn't have a built in GPS other than Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, & mirror link. Autobhan trim also doesn't have one. Is there any trim of GLI that has built in GPS? I doubt but just making sure

Zeeshan B yes it has its own built in Nav. This one does not have it yet as the SD card for the Nav has to be installed during the PDI as this car has not been through service yet to get it out of transport mode and check everything yet. But the one I was in earlier was fully PDI’ed and has the same Navigation built in as the 19 SEL Jetta’s.
Zeeshan B plus on this trim he is reviewing it is barebones. This one he is currently showing would not have the Nav included other than through the features you listed. It would have to have the upgraded display to have the Nav in the Autobahn edition.
The 35th Anniversary Edition has Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) and the different dark gray wheel with red accents. The GLI badging says 35 instead of GLI. The cloth interior is of a different pattern with red 35th Anniversary tags.
Why does VW always have a larger gap up front than the back? My 2016 Jetta Sport is like this too. The car always looks like it has 500lbs in the trunk.
It's not nearly as noticeable on an mk6 GLI/GTI. On my 17' GLI there's probably 3/10ths of an inch more gap between the top of the front tires and the fender well as opposed to the rear wheels. But my car has a lowered suspension anyway so it doesn't offend. The reason is because the rear end is tacked down on these jettas a little more than the front in order to help them handle the corners a little better. There's a weight distribution issue that is less prevalent on the Golfs...

My 17' GLI is truly "loaded" and has ALL the goodies as standard features- sunroof, power everything, leatherette, Fender premium audio, DSG, fogs...AND, the MSRP on it was just UNDER 29K. FFS you can pick up a CPO A4 for what this car costs, lol...
I don't think you understand the point of sport trims. You only pay more money exclusively for the performance. VW releases the GTI Rabbit edition with performance based upgrades- guess what it doesn't come with in that either? This is for people that want the fastest version of the Jetta they can get. If they want the most luxurious model they can get an sel trim or wow crazy maybe even a Passat. Who would've thought

Most of what people are complaining about is what VW took OUT from the older model GLI's. It used to all be stock. With that being said, I don't think YOU understand where people are coming from. This isn't just a sport trim, it's supposed to be a flagship model.

All the GLI was ever supposed to be was a Jetta with GTI capabilities. And Id much prefer that the better engine, suspension and brake mods be standard than the comfort stuff. Ive owned the 2 previous generations GLI's, this is a far better package.

VW was accused of compromising features in the new '19 Jetta to put an even-flow on their profits (x. Torsion-beam rear suspension, making the cheaper and slower 1.4t standard across all models and keeping the same price on the higher-end models, etc) and they're doing the same thing in the GLI.

There is rear air, it just comes from under the seat.
Passenger seat doesn't even have height adjustment. No adaptive cruise control, no parking assist, no DCC on Autobahn, no Sunroof on 35th

The 2019 Jetta trunk was redesigned where you have to push it up into place. They did that on purpose so the trunk takes less effort to close.

The Auto Show in Chicago had BOTH. The new color and red wheel come on the 35, but the Autobahn is the one with all the goodies.

boring boring boring rear. in my MKV TDI I had air vents AND an actual electrical outlet. Man over the years they get more bland
